About a month ago, I moved a dresser in front of the window and I quickly realized this would be a new perch for my cats.
Catticus, my boy kitty, has a real knack for making space where he wants it. We’ve never seen him in action, but we did find the broken mango bowl on the floor, and Catticus sprawled out where the intact mango bowl had once been. He looked completely innocent, but the evidence supported his belief that the mango bowl did not need sunshine and fresh air as much as he did.
After watching the cats contemplate the basket, and wedging themselves between pieces, I placed a pillow atop the basket.
It’s become the place to be.
What a great post! I love the innocent cat picture! But yes, you are obviously the best kitty mamma ever. It’s funny, I just used p to post about our dog (even though I’m a cat person at heart). At least she does her best to play the role of cat. 🙂

Thanks, Deborah!
I don’t know how many pets you’ve had, but I contend there are certain cats who think they’re dogs, and some dogs are more cat-like.

Other than our run with mice, hamsters, and hermit crabs, we only ever had cats until the rescue puppy. But whatever happened to her in the past, she basically sleeps most of the day, and she doesn’t bark. So yeah, pretty cat like. The cats all had different “attitudes,” but all pretty awesome.

From one kitty mama to another, I would like to give you the Best Kitty Mama award. What a fantastic idea! Of course, my one cat’s favorite furniture is me. She would probably turn her nose up if I tried to fashion something for her.

My Diva spends her days sleeping behind our curtains in the sunshine. You can tell she is there by the bulge at the bottom lol

In Iowa Parker made a huge bird feeder with hanging feeders for the goldfinches and the entire 2 x 2 foot base just devoted to sunflower seeds…As you might expect we had at times dozens of birds feeding…The cats would sit in a line on the window sill just watching and chattering their teeth…of course they learned to jump from the railing outside into the feeder, but alas the birds never stayed…lol…great fun to watch..

I like it that you can have both cats and plants in your home. No, that’s not right. I’m AMAZED that you can have both cats and plants in your home. I’m also a little jealous.

I wouldn’t have a cat-toxic plant where they could get at it, just in case, but I grew up with cats and plants, and have had cats and plants since I left home. 🙂

My cat has gnawed on every plant I’ve ever had. Now the cat stays home and all plants go to work. It works I guess.

As we have renovated our house, we have added car shelves to almost all windows. I’ve built scratching posts of all sizes and shapes. It’s what cat people should do 🙂

And I have to agree with the other post about bring able to have cats and plants. We have two cats, no plants.

Awesome. I don’t have enough “free” windows to take advantage of them for the cats’ perches, but they make do ^_^
