“Beep Beep Boop!” says WordPress.
“I’m so glad they’ve updated the entire site,” said no one ever.
I think the new notifications system here is about as helpful as digital toaster. Thanks for takin somethin simple and makin it take twice as long with confused results. Do I get all my notifications? Have I already replied, or do I only think I did? Trust me, I don’t need any help in the did-I-do-it-or-say-it-,-or-did-I-merely-think-I-did-?-department.
Where are the pingbacks? Oh, it says I have them, but if I can’t see them on the post, who knows if anyone else can.
Also, my likers. Maybe 42 people liked it, but when prompted to see all my likers, I get sent to the page, where there are what? a dozen?
And stop askin me why I go to the old stats page, because I’ve voted, “It shows more information” at least a dozen times now.
So Beep Beep Boop to you, too, ya bastard!
Anyway, I’m actually in a good mood, despite the unnecessary complications of blog life.
I had Rice Krispies with a sliced banana for breakfast, it’s snowing today, I found out I’m someone’s favorite blogger, and thank Prometheus, it’s warm in my house.
I wouldn’t like to upset any of the New Englanders, so I’ll try to phrase this delicately: Mother Nature has somehow given you our fair share of the snow on top of your own. We’re sorry. We know you didn’t ask for our snow, and we know you would give it to us if you could, but we haven’t even been able to muster up a single snowman this season!
While the snow continues to fall, I’d like very much to sleep under a book teepee lie on my sofa and read…
Unfortunately, I’ve got things to do today. I gotta do a load of laundry. I’ve got to iron a pile of shirts, well, they’re not piled, they’re on hangers, but you know. I need to pay a stack of bills — I bet that’s your favorite, too. I’ll do some dishes. Then I’ve got to figure out what we’re havin for dinner. I’m feelin salad-y. Y’all feelin salad-y? Maybe with some crusty dinner rolls? So yeah, I gotta do stuff, and you won’t believe this, but I just did things yesterday!
I know!
Yeah, I have your snow order out back. Swing by whenever you want to pick it up. Whatever size truck you bring, I can fill it without touching Mt Maddie (‘cuz she would freak out if I took any snow away from there).
Every time I go to the old stats I check “Shows more” and “is faster” – they don’t offer my other reason “is accurate”
Fortunately, I have the day job in our house so someone else takes care of the cooking, laundry, bills and ironing although it’s been so cold this season, I don’t need anything ironed. No need to iron what goes under a sweater.

I would totally come pick up my snow order!
Thanks for chimin in, Dan 🙂

Ugh, I hate the new stats page too. It seems like I have to click 47 places (ok slight exaggeration) to get to the old dashboard to write a post because I type faster than the new “add post” thingy can keep up with and it drives me crazy. Yes, it eventually it gets the words down but if I can’t see them as I type them it feels off to me. I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who can’t remember if I have replied to comments or not. Sometimes I just reply mentally and apparently not everyone on WordPress can read my mind so I need to do better at actually replying!

LOL @ read your mind!
My thing is I like to visit people who’ve liked my posts, and if I can’t get to them…well…
It’s funny you say that about the dashboard, because I bout died lookin for it last week! <Cue me yellin at the laptop<

I hate the new EVERYTHING on WordPress. I don’t like the stats page, I don’t like the new post page, I don’t like the notifications stuff. I always click to go to the original dashboard or post page or what-have-you.
We’re due for snow this afternoon. Fingers crossed it is enough to keep Hub home for at least two days. We’ll see how that works.
Stay warm. Keep doin’ stuff, it’s good for ya!

I will keep doin all the stuff. I’m just so tired

I know the feelin’. Hub went to do laundry today because I haven’t been up to it for almost week. Poor boy… heh heh.

You know I’m with you on the new and improved WordPress. I wonder what they’d do if we submitted a petition fome about fifty million users. I’ve also blogged about Old What’s Her Face’s digital toaster, so I completely understand.

The new posting and stats pages, suck big time..

WordPress took a completely user-friendly notification system and turned it into a demon. Now I have to squint to see if that light blue shade is there to let me know I haven’t yet seen a comment. Or is it white, meaning I have seen it? Some of us have crappy eyesight. Argh.
Have fun doing stuff. I’ll think of you while I’m doing my own stuff.

I was just telling Pee – we went to the store – she drives shotgun – that we have had a pretty easy winter, compared to last year. We have frozen our butts off a few times, but definitely not like last year. The WP – I just stand by and watch them do their thing – what I do not like is having people I follow mysteriously disappearing from my followship.. Oy, I am already technologically incompetent, so I am certain they are doing icky things, but I have not a clue because I am clueless!!!😁😁😁😁

I like that Pee rides shotgun and listens to you talk about the weather 😉 Sounds like someone else I know.
It really has been strangely mild. Yet, when it’s 4 and snowy in February people appear surprised. I shall never understand them.
And I shall never like the new WordPress set up!

You are right – we are still in the middle of winter;). Of course it is going to be friggin’ cold. Like duh! More like mega duh!

Oh c’mon I really love the new notification system ……..Ackkk, was that Dan who just pelted me with snowballs from YOUR part of Mt. Maddie?
They both suck. WP and those snowstorms.
But everything else is really really good.
Do you have a crane for that poor giraffe or are you borrowing Dan’s?

I wish I had a giraffe! Stupid zoning doesn’t even allow me a pair of pygmy goats!

I’m also weary of having to waste time trying to learn my way around again after purpose-less changes–but the tech geeks have to keep changing things around to justify their continued employment. It’s just like all the unnecessary highway improvements that get done while old bridges rot and highways erode: engineers have to engineer, or they can’t pay the bills.

For a while WordPress made great advances, now they are messing it all up. It’s harder to get to where I want, and it opens too many windows and I do like the old editor way better than the new one, and yeah, winter is a bitch for other people and I’m not feeling at all bad about that. I plan meals for the week so I don’t struggle daily with “what to fix”. Ain’t I special?

I plan certain meals, and I write a menu, but it’s not always a good day to let rolls rise, or start a pot roast, so some of them are more spontaneous.
I DO hate all those open tabs in my reader!

I just did something yesterday too! Imagine the coincidence! I don’t like these changes either. It was so good before or am I just imagining it?

WordPress, so annoying. A few months back they updated the dashboard/stats page and it shows my pre and post self-hosted sites separately… and won’t let me see my current one. So basically I can’t look at my stats unless I do it on my phone. Which I guess is good because it keeps me from being obsessive, but still. DON’T PUT AN OPTION ON THE PAGE FOR ME TO CLICK ON IF CLICKING ON IT WILL JUST REFRESH THE CURRENT PAGE I AM ON. Okay I feel a little better.

Ha! I feel the same way about that darn beep beep beep mess…just why? Why do they have to change things randomly?
I’m not feeling salad-y, but I am feeling panini-ish. Thanks for updating my ability to make up words!
