Today my creepy short fiction piece is posted on 13 Stories Til Halloween. It’s entitled “Earworm”
If you don’t know what an earworm is, the story won’t make much sense, so lemme help:
But check out Jordan Drew’s art accompanying my story:
Oooh!
Anyway, I hope if you’re into creepy stuff, you’ll pop over for a short, twisted read!

Well. Now isn’t that a pleasant way to start a day. The whole ear worm thing is creepy enough without you giving it visuals.” Sucking the ear worm in” Gross. Gonna’ make me reconsider my Bluetooth;for sure. The phenomenon itself is not so bad it’s the name. Two words that conjure up an image of a long, skinny slime encrusted thing slithering into your auditory canal. UGG! As for the actual experience it becomes less grave the older you get. I think they become less potent as the memory fails. Remember to always wash your hands and Happy Halloween

Nice build of suspense and truly scarier than a standard slasher/horror theme. Who hasn’t had a song drive them batty?

the word earworm reminds me of earwig and they are creepy.

Ok. I clicked. I read. I am seriously creeped. Not that I need a new rule, but never touch dead people seems like a good idea. Just sayin.

This showed another side to your writing, Joey, which was excellent in wording and pacing. After I read it I got a little chilly, my blood got cold when I read it the first time. I guess I got “creeped out!” Like Dan said, which doesn’t exactly give out the “twisted ending”— Never lean too close nor touch a dead person!!
