#Thursday Doors — Autumnal Colors

Back on The Old Northside of Indianapolis, I found a house, that if she could tell you, she’d say, “I’m an Autumn.”

She’s old, she’s beautiful, and just look at her double doors and their casing!

That is just gorgeous! The color, the trim work, the attention to detail; what a beautiful find – I could admire places like that all day long.

Funny you should say that! The other day, I tried to respond about your Naples post, including words like “modern Italianate” replacing Old Florida style, but it wouldn’t post! LOL Glitches.
I wasn’t able to share the thing I love most about this house, which are its bottom-opening windows that pop out at an angle. Do you know the words for those? Because Omaword, I love those!

What a beautiful door. The whole scene is wonderful. I could see a house like that in the Garden District of the Big Easy. I would feel as if I were entering another world going through those wrought iron gates.

Joey!! My favorite of any (ever) doors posts! I am an “Autumn!” I have been told I wear peach, olive, rust and other fall colors well. I am attracted to this Indianapolis house.

The extra details, like not just plain casings bit sculptured details almost like “rosettes” add to the charm and beauty of this lovely house. The gate even adds some dimension and elegance.
I am so happy you chose this house. Glad I didn’t goof up and not come visit too late. . .
On the other hand, I saw “Spectre.” Really enjoyed it, much lighter than Quantum of Solace. I ate out Friday with Jenny, at Cheesecake Factory and today, BMV for new tags and Bob Evans for dinner with Anna. I completed a watercolor fir a girl named, “Jade.” Lots of excuses bur mainly too busy to blog. Joey, I still need to babysit all day 4 kids so will be heading to “Dream Big,” at 1:30 Sunday. 🙂

I can see your Autumn leanings in your photo, Robin 🙂 I am a Spring 🙂 I’m not sure how many people understood that reference, so I’m extra grateful for your comment, that you made the connection.
I’m glad you like the house, I think she’s beautiful, too!
It sounds like you’ll have a busy and mostly happy weekend! Enjoy!

Oh yes, a great weekend. Did I ever tell you I have good friends in Indianapolis? So funny, since the husband’s name is Rich Cunningham so I called him “Richie” all through BGSU. His wife is Laurie. When they got out of school they married I’m 78 as my ex and I did. We lived in BG and they moved to Marion, Ohio. Then we moved to Lancaster and still visited 3 x a year. Their first daughter and ours were born in 1980; 3 weeks apart. Anyway, maybe sometime next year, I may ask if I could come stay with them and hang out. Then, see you for coffee or hang out at a park. In our divorce, they “chose me” to keep in touch. ♡ Happy Sunday, Joey. 🙂
