Christmas Postathon — Day 10

Day 10 asks if I’ve sat on Santa’s lap.

Yes.
I think the picture says it all, don’t you?

santa_joey

Yeah.

Now, we don’t do Santa, which you can read about here, but I did let the children sit with Santa if they asked.
Once.
One time.

So here’s one of my favorite photos of Bubba and Sissy, and one that I love to put out every year. Oh they’re just so little, don’t you wanna squish Sissy’s sweet cheeks?!?

*achem*
And here’s one that I had taken of Sassy. This photo was made into keychains for our parents so they would shut up about the whole Santa thing.  Guess how old Sassy is in that photo?

Moo never wanted to sit with Santa. Not even one time.

Do you think I should force her to do it now, or nah? Hehe!

  1. Nah. I think Santa’s optional. There are other things you can force them to do. Lima beans are a good example.

Don’t traumatize Moo! 😀 I only have one picture of me on Santa’s lap, and I was balling my eyes out. I’m talking red face, snot dripping down my nose. It was not pretty. Not sure what had me so upset. Maybe it was the hair. Haha!

Ahh little Joey so cute. Don’t force Moo to sit on Santa’s lap. Think of the complex you could give her. Also save coercion for bigger things. I’m guessing Sassy was 2. I never set on Santa’s lap. My kids did. I had Santa visit the house for our Christmas Eve party for a few years. All the kids in the family bought it for a while;until they noticed Santa drove a VW.

Good guess, she’d just turned 3!
      I won’t force Moo 😀
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a party with a Santa…kinda cool, kinda creepy!

Probably not a good idea to force a child to sit on Santa’s lap! Poor Santa might get peed on.

I love all 3 of your photos! The first I like the way you look, Joey! You were hesitant but didn’t cry. I like your cute pantsuit. 🙂
Of course, the little ones are amazingly adorable! I love Sissy and Bubba! Then Sassy is also sweet!
Moo has permission to stay away from Santa. ♡

  8. Santa photos are either wonderful like your beautiful children or leave a little to be desired. My daughter hated even the idea of it, granddaughter did it willingly, and grandson wouldn’t go near him. 🙂

Technically I don’t think you are “sitting on Santa’s lap” as much as sliding down his hip while he holds on for dear life but still, it’s more than I had so well done!!😊 Your kiddies look sweet and the Santa’s are quite smart looking as well. Some times they look a little “sad” if you know what I mean.

  10. Just one question: what is on your little overalls?? Too cute 🙂 I admire your commitment to your principles when it comes to Christmas. I, on the other hand, am still making my almost 17 year old daughter get her picture with Santa! But…she doesn’t believe in him anymore. She just believes in the spirit of Christmas.

LOL! If you believe in the spirit of Christmas and Santa, it makes total sense to sit on Santa’s lap! I say as long as she’s willing, enjoy! 🙂
I don’t know what exactly is on my clothes. A cupcake and a happy face? But I can tell you they weren’t overalls. It’s pants and a smock top, most likely made by my mother. — and thanks!

      • Well she didn’t sit on his lap – that would be a little creepy 😉 he was just some random Santa sitting in a retail store, but I thought what the heck – let’s get a picture!! She very nicely stood next to him and humored me. Cute little outfit made by your Mom – I had many such homemade goodies when I was young too (born in ’68!)

I think you and Moo should sit on Santa’s lap this weekend and then make a post about it.

That reminds me that LM will probably want to speak to Santa soon. It’ll be interesting to see how BG reacts.

I’ll make the early prediction that BG will want nothing to do with that jolly man. (based on her similarity to Moo)
I jokingly asked Moo if she wanted to go see Santa this weekend, since she’s the only kid who hasn’t, and she bugged her eyes out and said, “Huh uh, no way!”

The Bubba/Sissy Santa has the perfect face for the job, if he were to wake up. Might be the extra nip from the flask that gave him the red nose. Just speculatin’, Joey.

Your Santa photo, cute as a button. Looks as if you might want to squirm off his lap like a fish caught in a pond.

And no, no, no on making any child of any age sit with The Claus. Ever walk past the center of the mall at holiday time and hear some child a wailin’ about the situation? I always hate that. Not worth the tears photo op, I say.

  16. When you think about it having young children sit on the lap of an old, strange, white man, who wears a costume. And hugging is encouraged.
