The prompt for 22 is White Christmas or green Christmas?

I’ve been hoping for a White Christmas since I got back to Indiana and I still haven’t had one. Maybe the third time is the charm?
Probably not.

Just this morning at 3am, I was lying in bed, pondering over my endless supply of worries, when all of a sudden I heard a hauntingly familiar noise, repeating itself. Rain. I picked up my phone and checked the weather. Yep, 51 and rainy. The weather is so mild this week, there is no hope of snow.

Snow is much more enjoyable when you don’t have to go anywhere. So nice to admire from the warmth of your home —  say, in front of a large picture window with heat blowing on your feet and a hot cuppa in your hand? Much nicer to play in it at 3pm rather than brush it off your car at 7am.

I’m always dreaming of a white Christmas. Actually, I’d like snow on the ground all winter.
People hate that about me.
Usually, I just get ice on my street all winter. S’not the same.

    Well imagine that. I totally agree with your thoughts on snow. I have spent a bit of time dealing with crap loads of snow here in Indiana and Northern New Mexico. It is great to look at especially if you are near mountains but it sucks to be stuck in. I think the chances of a white Christmas are nil. There’s always next year.

    We have several winters where we have had snow on the ground for 3-4 months. That’s actually enough for me. I would prefer a white Christmas and very much so over a wet and dreary Christmas. Our forecast for Christmas day is “Chance of showers and patchy fog – 67 degrees” – My wife might have me put the AC back on 🙂

    We’re going to see 70 degrees for Christmas eve. Bah humbug. I wanted snow. I love snow. But then again, I don’t have to drive to work every day.

    Generally we see ice. We get really excited to see real snow. The dogs ADORE it until they have to find a spot to poop in it… 🙂

    I would much rather have snow over ice. Sadly, we’re getting neither this year. The only “white” we’ll see is the fog from all this rain. Plus, it’s supposed to be 73 degrees on Christmas Eve. My mom is talking about firing up the grill and cooking ribs for Christmas! I feel like I’m in the twilight zone! 😀

    We’re having similar weather here–temps in the 50s and rain. A white Christmas would be pretty–especially, enjoying it from the picture window with a warm cup of tea. 🙂

    I understand the feeling…it passes. My kids were so excited about the prospect of snow after 8 years in the south. It was 1995 when we got to PA. There were back to back blizzards that December/January. Over 20 inches each time. They got over it. ☃️

    We have got rain and mild weather over here too, so also not much chance of snow, I love it to look at but other that that I have to say I am not keen! 🙂

    We had a pre Christmas lunch here the other day, 37° heat in the shade! The cheese melted, the salads wilted and the guests went limp. You’da hated it!

    Little Man is hoping for a white Christmas. It’s supposed to be 74. I told him not to get his hopes up, but he said they don’t call it a Christmas miracle for nothing. Sigh.

    I know it doesn’t help matters that you’re having warmer weather than we are in San Diego. Sigh….Wishing you Happy Holidays, and maybe a Christmas snow miracle!

    The lack of snow here has really been dampening my holiday spirit this year, but what do you suppose I awoke to this morning (on the first day of winter) – a fresh dusting of beautiful snow! It’ll probably melt by Christmas with our mild temps, but I’ll take what I can get. Still gonna hope for a white Christmas…

    If only there were a way for the snow to land on the grass and not the roads. It would be much more enjoyable that way.😊

    I hate the snow, so I’m fine with what my American wife calls “a brown Christmas”, a phrase I’d never heard before as we have so few white Christmases here that bookkeepers actually take bets on it happening.

    I can’t remember as a child if we ever had a white Christmas, but I have had 2 since becoming an, ahem, adult. Believe it or not, one of them was a couple of years ago….in Georgia.

    I like white Christmases, but the green ones are best for driving. There are a lot of snow days left but sadly, this used to mean a day off from teaching. Now, it means, ” Get up a half hour earlier and shovel, scrape and drive to warehouse job. 😦

    Once every five years or so I think I miss waking up to an outside covered in snow, and to that wonderful feeling the air has, and that special sound of the snow sort of squeaking (why doesn’t English have a word for that sound?) as it compresses under your boots.

    Then I remember my good sense.

    Horrible stuff. Horrible, horrible stuff. So beautiful, so terrible.
