What household chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cleaning the ceiling fans and maybe the top of refrigerator? I seriously aim to avoid these tasks which involve me climbing, sneezing, and cursing my short arms. I usually ask The Mister to do those chores.

What was the last URL that you bookmarked?
Ugh, an obituary page on Legacy.

Close your eyes. Listen to your body. What part of your body is seeking attention? What is it telling you?
My hands and my entire left arm tell me the barometer is falling. Also, my feet are kinda dry, my nose and throat are a bit dry as well, my stress eczema itches, my eyes are watery…
Ya know what? I don’t like listening to my body, my anxiety-ridden brain can really have a field day with that, and then I won’t be able to ignore it.

Would you rather have a two-bedroom apartment in a big city of your choosing or a mansion in the country side in the state or country where you currently live?
Sometimes these questions are tricky. I like city life, but I like greenspace more, and well, space! I’m not an apartment person, especially upwards. I’m not a big house person at all, but when it’s phrased like this I guess I’d prefer a mansion in the countryside over a two-bedroom in the city. There are plenty of cities I’d probably be happy to live in. Really, I’d just rather stay in my own house with its acreage in this city. I hate moving.

city bird and i had a moment. i asked him not to move and he didn’t.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week I met up and shared dinner with one of my oldest friends. Okay, she’s only 12 days older than me, but we’ve been friends since we were seven. That was a phenomenal dinner. We hadn’t seen one another in fourteen years!
This week coming up, I’m looking forward to these cool but not cold days. Also, I have good books to read.

I either forget how much shorter my wife is than I am or I forget that her arms are also shorter or I forget that, combined, she just can’t reach the things I can. Top of the fridge? It’s right there 🙂

      Nice for you!
Even on the top of the step stool, my arms only go about halfway across the top of the fridge. Cue me, standing on the countertop, twisting around the upper cabinets…
If it’s “right there” for you, I hope you help your wife as well 🙂

Dusting in hard to reach places can be tough on the ‘vertically challenged’. We’ve tried step ladders and extension poles for the different duster thingies, but in the end I usually end up doing those spots because it just seems easier and faster that way.
Neat the way you got that city bird to listen and stay put while you snapped his pic. The little buggers never listen to me 😦

I don’t really mind any of the big household tasks;the stuff you do weekly, monthly, etc. It is the boring daily stuff that bugs me. I don’t bookmark. Ha. I quit listening to my body a long time ago. The sucker is a liar anyway. I like both ideas. I couldn’t live in the Country for any extended time. But private green spaces in the city are rare. My dream would be a Spanish style home with a huge wall offering privacy that opens into a large garden with a fountain and benches. All of the rooms in the house opens out onto the garden or balconies, overlooking it. As you can tell I have put some thought into it.

I can! Sounds very Spanish-style indeed! I do admire those central courtyards.
I really want new fencing. More fencing. *sigh*

I hope you’re feeling better now?

I always liked the effect of some of the homes in Mexico and Costa Rica. You have an expanse of walls with the occasional door that leads into the courtyard. I just loved the hidden nature of it all. I picture you as a wood fence type. Picket?

I think I would enjoy the privacy 🙂

Yes, we do have a picket fence, but not entirely. Some of it is chain-link and it only encloses about 1/3 of the land, maybe 1/4 maybe 1/5…I’m not good at that. I’m slowly filling the chain-link with branches. I would like more of that back acre enclosed. I think I’d choose farm fencing, like the square sort, but I do love the pickets. Just too much $$$ for all that wood!

  4. I agree with you on number 3. It’s better for me not to focus too much either. 😉

If you had acreage in a city I would think that would count for the mansion. 😀

Thanks for reminding me the tops of my ceiling fans haven’t been cleaned in a long time. The top of my fridge too. Sigh.

  8. I don’t have ceiling fans and haven’t looked at the top of the fridge in forever, but I loathe cleaning blinds.

What I wouldn’t give for Sam to have a couple more inches on him. (Hee hee) He’s kinda short for a dude, only an inch taller than me, so I can’t get by with the “I’m too short for xyz” with him.

Dusting, changing the sheets, washing dishes, cleaning the goddamn toilet! Hates them.
(I enjoy ironing, when I have time to do it, and I don’t mind mopping floors.)
Sometimes I sit on the balcony here surrounded by birds, looking like Cinder-freaking-rella!
But I don’t know the magic song that makes the critters clean for me…
Joey, tall is good, but then you hafta bend all the time to reach the benches made for average height people. My back will tell ya all about that!

  11. I’ll clean your fans and the top of your refrigerator, if you will clean the inside of mine. Gosh, I hate to clean the inside of the refrigerator. Where does all that expired food come from? LOL
