One day, I will write a really long post about The Mister’s vs my impression of neighborhoods. It will make you lol and if you’re a local, you may even rotfl.
For today, you should know that I was sternly discouraged from the neighborhood I wanted to photograph.
The Mister said, I quote, “You are not going to walk up and down Central Avenue.”
(I most certainly effing will, and when y’all see those door photos you will smirk.)
But anyway, we ended up round about 14th & Delaware and it was an excellent DoorScursion. I’ll do some today and some another time.

Beautiful doors. I also take my husband along on photo-quests for the blog. We have a lot of fun searching through local towns for photos that will enhance a blog post or be perfect for a challenge.

These are all beautiful Joey. I’m going to go with the vertical plank arched wooden door. I love that style door and, well, 1 456 – so, you know, my favorite number sequence.
I’ve accompanied my daughter on some photo shoots to areas we would have been happy to have her avoid. I went with her because I knew she would go alone if I didn’t.

It’s an interesting way to make an arched door. It uses more material and it’s heavy but it’s easier to build. I like the lines.

The second (simple) and the last (purdy) are my faves, but they’re all gorgeous. Why was the Mister reluctant for you to shoot there?

It wasn’t this location The Mister minded, but another on Central Ave. As for the why, you’ll have to wait for that post 😉

I like that you gave the last 2 doors a gender and personality. I’m glad I’m not the only one who tends to do that with inanimate objects 🙂
Like Dan, my favourite is the door in the 2nd photo. For me, it’s the combination of the vertical planks with the tiny little columns on the side. It’s just a charming little feature 🙂

You have a wonderful selection today. I haven’t been out door hunting in so long,can’t remember the last time. My favorite is the last one. It show open out to a tiled terrace and garden of shrubs and roses and open in to a large airy room with lots of light and wicker furniture. Actually these are some of the safest hoods in the city,especially in daylight. Now there are more than a couple of unsafe at anytime neighborhoods but they have ugly doors.

I live for Thursday door posts from you, my Thursday’s are go to work, get a diet dr. pepper, nap at work, get another diet dr. pepper, bang head against my desk when another person has overdosed on HGTV and wants to argue with me about sending rock to their house, snort a diet dr. pepper and then catch up on my Indy Door Fashion blogger. You have made the list :), sorry about that long run on sentence I just come out of a nap!

The colors on house 1431 are pretty, so subtle. I like that door best because of the colors, but also because I’m a sucker for arched doors. That’s the one I pick.

There was a gorgeous reflection, of tree branches, on the window of your first door photograph. So beautiful and showing great photography, Joey. The cool (male) door versus the warm (female) door was so creative and I have to say they both are good counterpoints. 🙂

I’ve thought about going into the safer city neighborhoods to photograph the wonderful old architecture, including doors, but two things stop me – first, I don’t think I could do them justice with my photography skills, and second, I’m always afraid some resident will look out his window, see me photographing his house, and get royally pissed. I can’t run very fast.

I sometimes get to talk to residents and so far they’ve all intrigued by the Doors posts and flattered that I like their doors. I can’t speak for your photography skills, but we’re a forgiving group.

Except for the door with bars, you found some great doors. So I like them all except the one with bars. I like the architecture around it though.

I love Doorscursions! My He-Man probably will not come with me for a door search. Kudos to yours for going on the walk!
My favorites are 1456…love that the numbers are in the sequence! And the door that follows with the fancy glass panes. Oh la la!
