What would you ask for if a genie granted you three wishes?
Oh, I don’t like that. That’s like being asked if you were queen of the world, what would you do? I’m uncomfortable with that kinda power even in fantasy. I’d need to ask the genie for the world’s best experts on genie wishes. Are genies even reputable? I have trust issues, ya know. It’d be great to cut out hunger and sickness, but then we’d be overpopulated and our resources couldn’t sustain us and could lead to eventual hunger and sickness which might be why it’s this bad to begin with…If you really think about healing the world, you’ll find it’s far more complicated than three wishes, and if you’re a believer, it will seem quite obvious that we must all do our part and that there is no magic wand and see why I suck at this game?
I see the forest, y’all, and it is BIG.
Petty personal pipe dreams seem easier.

2. To be fluent in all languages.
3. To live without worry.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher

Complete this sentence:  The best day of my life was….
Wow, I don’t know. Easily not my wedding day. The babies being born, that was terrific, but there was a lot of pain.
I don’t know if I get best days. Like entire days?
Last Christmas was a good day, but so was a coupla Fridays ago. I enjoyed sweater weather on Thursday last. I think I get best moments. When I think about best, I see memories of smiling loved ones. We are often laughing. One really cannot schedule joy. Do people really get entire days of joy?!?

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week was remarkably long, if pleasant, so I was grateful for Saturday sleep-in. I slept until nine and I woke up feeling like a whole new person!
I am grateful for my husband.
This week coming up, I’m looking forward to more signs of spring. I like how the sun is usually up before me. I like how the crocuses have bloomed and the tulip pips are poking through. It’s time to prepare the garden and order the seeds!

I have a few Djinn on my hit list for badly interpreted wishes 😉
That really is the worst question ever, though isnt it? Like..theres so much that everything needs..
I like your answer about language though. Man, that be fun. Id write my own version of Finnegans Wake..

You always have great wisdom to share tho. I likes it. 😛 😀

Three wishes are impossible to decide upon. You did remarkably well answering that question. I’m with you about looking forward to planting seeds. I don’t even care [too much] if they don’t start, I just like the ritual of it. No crocuses here, but a few daffs are on the way. Spring, sprang, sprung…

I slept until nine on Saturday too. Isn’t it funny how that seems late to us now? Back in college, after a late night of waitressing, nine am would have seemed like the crack of dawn.

Teleportation! This is my number one when people ask about super powers! I mean, being able to instantly travel anywhere? How nice would that be? I want to see Ireland, I can’t afford Ireland. I can teleport to Ireland for a few hours the same as if I spent a day in the city, only without traffic concerns. That would be amazing!!!!!

I nearly died a few years ago. That is pretty much my answer to a bunch of stuff. I think this is why I am so laid back and so much in love with living.

Gorgeous flowers! I checked our little patch of daffodils earlier and they’re bursting out in color. I grabbed my sketchbook and captured them very quickly. Later, as time allows, maybe I’ll make a drawing of them. I also sketched a genie’s lamp in my daily sketchbook. I enjoyed your post and look forward to learning more about your world.

I love the way you don’t answer these. That’s the kind of stuff in my head but I’m not sure I’d get it out without offending someone.

  9. Love your best day answer. Wedding day..no way, nervous wreck ! Baby births…I love those pups, but after 20 plus hours of labor, not exactly my best day recovering. I think the joy does come more in moments than in days. My best ones have been the simple ones with family and laughter…but not on holidays…more like the ordinary days. ☺

Pretty good petty personal pipe dreams I say. I would also add eat whatever I want without ruining my health and waistline and bum.

Teleportation—now that would be a cheap way to travel. Love the flowers. For some reason we seem to have a slow spring–well, in our yard. It must be time to plant some flowers instead of green shrubs.

  13. Great answers. I agree with you about genie’s. Their answers are usually double edged swords and as far as whole days of joy I do get them as long as I don;t expect joy and happiness to coincide. Maybe that’s more like contentment but I’ll take it.

I’ve been obsessively planning my veggie garden. I’m so ready for spring. Did you know there was such a thing as purple tomatillos and purple bell peppers? I can’t wait!
Love this post and the crocuses are lovely 🙂

I knew about purple bell peppers, but not purple tomatillos. Did you know there are purple carrots and potatoes, purple string beans and snow peas?!? I guess there are purple beets, too, but I don’t like beets 😉

  15. I agree with you about the “three wishes” dilemma. Curing illness ( great ) subsequent overpopulation ( not great ) and so on. Once we start trying to fiddle with the balance of things perhaps we only make them worse. Anyway, things seem crazy enough without me trying to add to the muddle 🙂

Love your best moments theory. I can’t remember the last time I experienced an entire day of joy; I’m not sure that I can. And I like the idea of focusing on the good moments.
