Wanting something to quench your thirst, what would you drink?
My mother’s voice is in my head telling me if I’m actually thirsty I need water. I hate to be without a drink. I am never without a drink. I drink all the time. All.The.Time. Coffee, tea, juice, water, chocolate milk, milkshakes, seltzer, soda, kefir, cocktails, wine, beer. Seriously, this is not hyperbole. All.The.Time.

What made you feel good this past week?
Oh gosh, lotsa things. I had a lovely long drive yesterday. I drove out to Noblesville to pick up Moo, did a lil grocery shopping, took the long scenic route both ways. It was cool and windy but sunny and my girls made for pleasant company. I like cool days when the sun makes the car seats warm so when you sit down your bones say, “Ahhh!”

When you’re alone at home, do you wear shoes, socks, slippers, or go barefoot?
I’m almost always barefoot. If my feet are cold, I’ll put on socks or slipper socks. I have proper slippers, but I only wear those when I travel. I do not wear shoes in the house.

Would you rather live where it is always hot or always cold?
Where it’s always cold! I hate to be hot! It’s worse than wearing shoes or not having a drink!

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Lotsa time with family and friends filled my heart this last week. A pile of good news filtered in. There were long talks, kids’ events, lunch dates, dinner with friends, extra time with the boy one — All Good Stuff! The week was almost too busy, but who could complain about a week crammed with good stuff?!? I’m feeling well and rather content. This week has only three school days and I’m already grateful in anticipation of waking without an alarm!

A beautiful photo. Blue sky + white fluffy clouds = happy spring. Also, me too with the constant liquid consumption. Don’t know why, but I do like my beverages.

I really enjoy your world share writings. I usually don’t like participation posts but this I like. I am with you on the drinking and bare footing. I prefer somewhere hot though, I just don’t dig the cold. Again with a side note. Your contact thing still doesn’t work. I tried it several weeks ago and it didn’t go through. Just remembered. Glad you had a good week.

I love your answer to “Would you rather live where it is always hot or always cold?” That’s perfect given your previous answers. Clever girl 🙂

I like to go barefoot as much as possible, especially in the garden.

I should bring slippers when I travel. I don’t like going barefoot in hotel rooms so I end up leaving my socks on. A weird quirk of mine, I suppose. But sometimes the carpet is crunchy. Ew.

  10. You failed to mention one of my favorite drinks – broth. I make it from all bones (no – not pork) and I drink it as much as I use it in cooking. Yep, I drink!

  11. the share your world posts are always intriguing, insights into another’s life. yet being human I cannot but attach my world to it, filter it through my world so to say. “I drove out to Noblesville…” Having spent eight years in Muncie, the phrase jumped out at me, in part because of the clash of the economic classes that is represented in places like Noblesville and Fishers, compared to the depleted landscape of towns to the east. Just part of my world (mindset).

      Quite valid.
I have my own personal experiences attached to Noblesville as well. My mother’s family moved there in the 60’s and my mother graduated from NHS thereafter. Throughout my young life, my grandmother remained in Noblesville, so I spent plenty of time there. It was then like any other small town.
Of course, as Fishers built up in the 80’s, Noblesville grew as well. My husband and I were part of the housing boom in Noblesville circa 2000. I have never been more miserable as an adult. I had a wonderful neighbor there, a lifelong friend now, whose family hailed from the same tiny Virginia county my mother’s father came from. We bonded then, strangers, young mothers, unaccustomed to keeping up with the Joneses, with the Stepford wives, the enormous taxes, the ugliness of pretense — it was enough to suffocate us. Lesson learned.
I require more diversity, and a much more salt of the earth environment. I cannot endure suburbia. It requires a certain kind of person, who enjoys the shiny new whiteness of the world, who enjoys gates, exclusion, conformity…. The taxes are high enough to destroy the dream of home ownership … (I’ll actually be writing about this later this week, along with my door post.) Suffice it to say, I don’t care how the ends change, I’m the kind of person who needs to live in one of two places — in a colorful urban working-class neighborhood or in the middle of nowhere where I don’t see my neighbors.
The new Noblesville is not the old Noblesville, and as I bought my bacon and butter, I saw it’s only grown more divided.
The good news is, I have a lot more old Noblesville memories than new. Thank you for expressing this connection and giving me reason to express mine.

I really liked all the positives in this post, Joey. I did read every word and savored the trip with Moo, where she talked and you got to listen and she was the intrepid photographer of beautiful clouds and sky. Your post had one common element to my week, I drink liquids all day, every day. It is not so convenient at work as there are only three designated bathroom times which are first break at 8:45, lunch at !1:45 and then second break at 1:45. I went yesterday between first break and lunch and wrote it down! then, since we worked nearly 11 hours, I took an extra long bathroom break and wrote it down on my “Indirect time” sheet, for at 3:45 pm and immediately ran to the bathroom after I clocked out at 5:50 pm! Yikes, I left home at 6:30 am and got home at 6:15 pm. Now, you can see why I am having a few battles keeping up with my friends. 🙂 I am trying to catch up on yours since I sincerely missed you, Joey!

Haha! Yeah, I’m kinda like a camel, but at some point, the dam will break! I hope you don’t work around water!
She’s a good photographer, that Moo. She enjoys it.
