SoCS — Real

Are those your real breasts, are those your real nails, is that your real hair color???

Is it a real diamond, is it real gold, is it a real _____???

I am and am not the real mom and I’ve got two dads, which one’s real?

Is this the real life?

Real life, the real deal, keepin it real, get real, be real, stay real, The Real Housewives, Will the real Slim Shady please stand up? Is Pinocchio a real boy? Is The Velveteen Rabbit real? Is the Matrix real?
Are you for real?
Make it real.
A real man does this but a real woman is this and has that.
Real cheese made with real milk — real butter, real fruit, real maple syrup.
Real love, real money, real power, the real thing, not your real friend.

I don’t even believe in real.
What is real?
Reality is perception.
In The Real World — Everything is real.
In The Real World — Nothing is real.

I have always thought it interesting that the more you see a word the less you understand it. Or maybe it’s just me. What does “keepin’ it real” even mean. Being truthful;honest? My boobs are real but nobody ever asks. People sometimes call me a “real asshole”. Does that mean I am a sphincter? This discourse could give me a real pain. I do like real maple syrup. I used some in my pecan bars. So good. For Real.

It’s not just you, it’s called semantic satiation. Kind of a metaphor between what we see in the world losing meaning over time as well, hm?
Enjoy your pecan bars made with real maple syrup 🙂

This blog is the real deal. At least for today. That was a really good take on the prompt. Really.

  7. In the real world nothing is real??…Hmmm…..does that mean we are all in some sort of temporal world where random things are happening and we are at the whim of the reality gods? If so it does explain a lot…..happy Easter Joey..

  10. Real truths. Really well done. ❤️ Nice one, Joey.
I need to get on board with these SOC prompts…this one would have been an inspiration for me. Real people… growing up, I was told I didn’t know what that was. I disagreed.

Usually, I like real things. Yummy real butter and maple syrup on pancakes. . . mmmm!

I would hope most labels are honest. I hope I come across as real. I like real friends, I believe in them. Rare and few; along with far (long time) between new, real friends. I trust if I met you, Joey, I would feel your “real self” shining through. 🙂

  15. Real is kind of like normal – it’s overrated in most cases. 🙂
