You may recall this door/ house from last week?
Check out its side-street gate.
Y’all, I think this is the prettiest off-the-cuff photo I’ve ever snapped. I was walkin by and I thought, oh that’s pretty! *snap* I swear it’s prettier in the picture than it was in person. Amazing iPhone fairies must have gotten involved. Love, love, love this gate!
Whatcha think?

You’re right. That gate does look like it is the work of fairies. Odd match up with that mausoleum style house.

I never have much to say about these, but I really love your door posts. I’m such a visually oriented guy that your photos grab me. The gate is wonderful.

Have you ever gone over to Norm’s and perused the other door pic links? I get wowed by them every week!

I love that gate. I also recognize those hinges. I have used them on two sets of doors that I’ve built. I am often amazed by the work of the iPhone fairies, but it starts with an eye for what would be a good photo – that credit goes to you. Good job Joey (and the fairies).

You recognizing hinges really says a lot about you, Dan.
Thank you 🙂

Well, at a minimum, it says I shop at Lowes. There aren’t really a lot of “gate hinges” that are good looking. Actually, for this gate, there are many more options. Gate hinges are usually longer and would extend farther along those horizontal rails. These hinges are also good for gates that have a vertical (stile) member and where the hinge might not line up with the horizontal section. OK, I’m sensing that the length of this reply also says something about me 🙂

I think you’re right. Are you without a doors post this week, or is one coming later?

I will have one later. I took the pictures yesterday, after feeding my daughter’s cats, but there wasn’t time to write about it.

That is lovely little gate and you came across it at just the right time of day it seems, because the lighting is perfect with a soft shadow effect.
I don’t know what the iPhone fairies added but if you want to give them the credit, I’m sure they’ll take it 😉

A very unique design fairy must have made this gate and went to Lowe’s to shop too. She does amazing work!

That is a very beautiful entrance and gate. It deserves to be on the front, not hidden away at the side.

I’m a big fan of gates and what I really like about this one is that it’s half a door. Cute 🙂

I think that gate is gorgeous. I love the way the branches weave their way up. The person who lives there has a good eye for detail. And, you did a good job of capturing it. 🙂

I’d love to have a gate like that one somewhere around the house. So intricate & inviting. And those sturdy hinges. That gate isn’t flying off in a gust of wind!

Fairies! 🙂 They are so helpful. I really do like that gate, I want one. Maybe I will send my flamingos on a mission to get it for me.

Agree with some other comments; the foliage would make this comp really great (so you might have to do a repeat for us with the foliage later). Oddly, the hinges look new so the gate must have been repaired because the weathered wood looks the same on the gate and fence. All in all, you got the blogging community abuzz with your catch, good job! 🙂

It is indeed a very pretty looking gate. Actually from the little that we see, the whole house looks quite interesting.
