C is for Cee’s Share Your World #14

If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
Yard work absolutely.
This is the time of year I like to drag The Mister through the yard pointing at what I need him to pull — baby trees! Also, I need someone stronger and more stubborn than I to divide my ornamental grasses. And if anyone wants to yank out those STUPID spruces on the side of our house, holler at me. I am so tired of trimmin those STUPID spruces! STUPID!

What makes you laugh the most?
My husband? My kids? We laugh ALAWT.
True, Orb, Lola, Beefy — we laugh a lot too…
Twitter makes me LOL
Oh, and …

Spiders on Drugs

Dear Kitten — There are a lot of these. They only get funnier. Poise pad warning!

Eddie Izzard: Learning French — Apparently not funny to people who don’t speak any French.

Frasier: A Valentine for Niles

For book lovers, how about praying in the literal heart of Jesus? praying to the chicken coop? being jealous of a scarecrow leerin at your girl in short pants? preferring boobies to clever men who wrote dissertations? tilting at windmills? baptizing the natives in the crocodile-infested river? Agatha Christie and her pussies? The Dawnzer Lee Light? Jeeves? That time in a young girl’s life when she begins to curl her hair and long for balls?
Books are funny, too.

And music. “Call Tyrone,” she said.

And blogs. “Bok-Bok motherfucker.”

I love to laugh.

What was your favorite food when you were a child?
I don’t know.
One of my favorite meals was smoked sausage, mac n’ cheese, and peas. My mother even sent me a photo of some the other day.

maman.meal

Now, don’t tell my mother, but I also really like smoked sausage, fried potatoes, and peas, but that’s at my father’s house and if your parents aren’t divorced, then you have no idea what a BFD this is.
My parents are foodies, the lot of em, and I remember growing up, I just wanted to eat normal food. Can you even imagine?!? I can.
“I’ve looked at life, from both sides now…” she sings softly and ironically.

List at least five favorite flowers or plants.
OMG FIVE!?! Oh, phew, Cee said at least five. Right, so —

White tulips
Pink tulips
Red tulips
Dark purple tulips
Yellow tulips
Orange tulips
TULIPS ARE MY FAVE!

I love flora. It’s right up there with fauna and food.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week was fantastic. Alarm clocks were shunned. Friends were enjoyed. Good news continued to pour in. And Friday? Friday was like, my favorite day of 2016. Fabulous day. Ahh, whatta day! Great work, Friday!
This week comin up is a skosh busy. I’m lookin forward to seared cod with rice pilaf and a nice Riesling, meeting a fellow blogger, the arrival of my range hood, the return of Outlander, and hosting dinner with friends.

Cee’s Share Your World is a weekly feature and all are welcome to play along.

With a husband and two teen sons, I don’t do much yard work (and yes, I realize the gender stereotype in that), but choosing between cooking and cleaning? Oh, that’s tough. Having the house cleaned is lovely, but not having to cook would be a treat too. But I think I’d still go with the cleaning. Cooking doesn’t take as long!

What a fun post. I got a good laugh from Eddie Izzard…one of those laughs that will continue throughout the day whenever I think of it. I’ll probably have dreams tonight of mice under the tables, cats in chairs, and hey, is that monkey riding a bicycle? LOL Great post.

Joey I enjoyed reading your blog. I thought at first you were just having fun with 5 colors of tulips, but you went even crazier than I did listing flowers. You named some pretty ones. 😀

The spruce society of America is really offended by your pure hatred of their sacred conifer. They just want to be loved like everybody else!

I don’t really have enough work to do that it needs to be divvied up. Spiders on Drugs. That is LOL funny. I am always a sucker for those Friskies commercials. I don’t really know enough about plants and stuff to have a favorite flower or plant. I can’t think of a flower I don’t like to look at. I can’t think of any one food as a child that I would think of as my favorite. I do recall cold smoked sausage and sweet onion with some fondness. I am actually grateful for some Hardees coupons that came in the mail last week. I know.Pretty lame;but there it is.

I’m surprised you eat at Hardee’s. What do you like there? As a kid, I loved the biscuits, the ones with the raisins and icing? I guess they don’t have those anymore. The Mister and I rarely got a coffee to go there, maybe 10-15 years ago.
      I love Dear Kitten. It’s tops 😀

I haven’t eaten there in years. I liked their biscuits with bacon and egg. I think I just like their coupons. Whenever I get their them I always plan on using them. Biscuits with bacon and egg,2 for $1.99. Such a deal. I may actually use them.

So my sister found ZeFrank before he started voicing those Dear Kitten commercials. His site was very funny,. They do think it is their job to try and get in,. Dobson sits outside the door an meows at me every time. So annoying, if he keeps it up, I’m going to make him a crack spider’s bitch!
Also, Eddie Izzard is the person responsible for introducing me to Jammy Dodgers, so I will always be a fan.

You are the person who shared ZeFrank with me, so thank you! My son got me into those commercials, SO FUNNY!
I only shut the bathroom door when the boy one is here or we have company that doesn’t, well you know, let’s just say we’re not a closed door people. All my animals lose their minds when bathroom doors are shut!
      Eddie Izzard ❤ Love him!

  13. I’ve given up on the garden so send me a cleaner.
Do you have the Eddie Izzard video in a German version?
Spiders on Drugs – funny, funny, funny.
I’m botanically challenged so I’m not sure I could even name five flowers.
Loved this post. Made me laugh. A lot.

We hire out the spring clean-up for landscaping. Best money spent all year. I like tulips, too. But they don’t grow around here because we have too many squirrels and deer who eat the bulbs as snacks. Very annoying.

    Liked by 1 person

    • joey says:

Ah, yes, squirrels get some of our bulbs as well. Deer, not so much. We rarely get deer, as in, I haven’t seen any, but my neighbor has lived here for 60+ years and says he’s seen some in my back forty now and again.
I love spring clean up in the garden. I live for it, really. Mmm, LOAM! 😛 lol

  19. I’ve looked through everything and enjoyed the most Dear Kitten commercial Regarding the Dog. Of course ‘puppy’ comes from ‘puppet’! (And then I saw which brand the commercial was for. Our consumer says No.)
