Name one thing not many people know about you.
Despite not being a morning person, I’m pleasant in the morning. But I’m mean as a snake if you wake me from a nap. Naps are delicious, like ice cream. Would you also take away my ice cream? Don’t do that, it’s just plain mean.
If a distant uncle dies and you were always his favorite and leaves you $50,000 (any currency) in his will, what would you do?
Put it in the bank.
Seriously, it takes me a long time to decide to spend money. It took me three months to choose a new lamp, then it took me 20 lampshades.
Besides, I can’t travel until June.
Where do you hide junk when people come over?
My house is generally clean and tidy. When it’s not, it’s because DIY. I have a DIY closet. So I may return some treasures to their proper places, but I do not hide junk. A place for everything and everything in its place.
Complete this sentence: I want to learn more about …
the things that already interest me: the natural world, the arts, history, cultures…
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
From last week, I am grateful for the help and support of my husband. I also owe a great deal of gratitude to my gray sweats, Behr paints, and fountain cokes.
I am happy to report that this week is expected to be ‘normal’ and that I’ll be getting a nap here in a bit.
while it’s raining.
on the tulips.
mmm.

Great share, Joey! I *can* be pleasant in the morning too. but like you, don’t mess with my naps! Have a great week, Joey!

Naps are delicious but a bit disconcerting. When I wake from a nap it takes me a while to figure what day it is.. and what I’m meant to be doing….

A lot of people report that feeling. I don’t have that 🙂

Fountain drinks make any day a bright and cheery one! When do we get the all access view of Joey’s DIY closet?

Ohhh, errrr, how long were Monica and Chandler married before he found out about her closet? lol

Oh yes, naps are sacred. Woe to anyone who disturbs my short slumber.

Good post. I like your nap reference. Taking your ice cream is just plain mean. I would be afraid to wake you.

I am a morning person and, I’ve been told, I’m sometimes a bit too pleasant in the morning. I try to never wake anyone from a nap.

I do not get morning people. I am not a pleasant soul in the morning. I prefer to ease quietly into my morning, preferably without peopling. Peopling only makes it more difficult. I think everyone should get at least an hour nap daily. The world would be better for it if we all could just stop and rest in the middle of our day with a little siesta. I do not like being disturbed from my nap either. It is not nice. Ice cream taking is done at one’s own risk, as is talking to me prior to my speaking first thing in the morning is also done at one’s own risk as well.

Your tulips are pretty. Ours are nowhere to be seen. [Well, I mean our neighbors’ tulips are nowhere to be seen. We didn’t plant any last fall.] My point being, the tulips are late this year. Also, would do the same thing if I got that much money. I’m a good saver, and a so-so shopper.

Thank you, tulips are my fave! ❤ Daffodils were late this year. We seldom have so many weeks of daffodils AND tulips together. Weird winter we had.

I would put some of the money in the bank too, after figuring out how much was going to taxes and paying bills.
After that there probably wouldn’t be much left!

I thought that, too! How much is actually mine after taxes?!? Seems better to watch it grow than to spend it.

I ❤ your house, that's what I aspire to. Now if only the other three would get on board. I also ❤ the fountain Cokes. I don't think I've ever heard anyone else specifically refer to wanting a fountain Coke, but that's what I always ask Sam to get me when he's out (like he is right now). So much better than canned/bottled.

Fountain coke fans are a small, almost secretive cult, me thinks.
I did NOT have that tidy house when I had little ones, E. Blocks, books, babies, trains…oh yeah. Even now, it’s a battle, but I pick it, mmhm I do!

A nap sounds SO delish. My mother and my grandmother used to always take naps after lunch. I think it’s such a wonderful custom, but I haven’t been able to implement. My life is too chaotic. Maybe that is something I need to figure out: how to add a nap every once in a while. I am also not a morning person. It takes me a long time to get going in the morning, and that has to include my computer haha. The screen has to unglue my eyelids and arrange the cells in my brain.

Even one a week, Luanne, even one a week makes a huge difference!

I am amazed at your not hiding stuff, Joey. I expected neatness but even neat people grab a pile of magazines, newspapers, shoes. . . and throw them into somewhere.
I love coffee!! I am not cranky but I am much happier 2 days a week then the five workdays! 😉 Happy “I” day and have a wonderful week ahead, Joey!

I’m okay with the shoes at the door, it encourages others to leave theirs there 😉
Magazines are in the bathroom and newspapers are in the back hall. I might straighten the pillows and sweep, but yeah, too anxious for a mess here, Robin
I need to catch up with you! Thanks for coming by! 😀
