Share Your World #21

What is your favorite go to beverage?  Water, coffee, tea, coke, soda (non-alcoholic)
Beverages are my favorite. I am never without a drink. It’s hard to choose one, because all beverages are fantastic. Fountain Coke. Fountain Coke from McDonald’s is the best, because the syrup is stronger and the ice is wetter. All true Coca-Cola addicts know this.

Can you change a car tire?
In theory, yes. In practice, probably not. My weak hands are no match for pneumatic tools.

Are you a listener or talker?
Depends on the audience and the subject. I enjoy listening because I enjoy learning. If you don’t listen to people, you can’t understand them. I enjoy talking, but only about things that interest me. I can talk your ear off in private, but in most social situations, I’m a listener.

Would you rather have no internet or no cell phone?
No cell phone. I’m not a phone person. I think if I didn’t have a cell phone it would inconvenience other people, not so much me.
When I call people, I still use the house phone. You know why? You just pick it up and press the buttons.
Sometimes I am on my cell phone trying to do stuff, and I have to stop and think about what the hell I am doing. Literally, have to stop and think. enter passcode. mmm, quesoeverything. call los rancheros. how do i get the number for los rancheros? where’s that list of people? phone? which one is phone? oh the one with the phone icon. makes sense. contacts…where are the–? oh. there. lo. no not lola, not lori. ah, okies, push the los rancheros, push the phone button. look at the phone. is it dialing? do i need to push the green button? oh! it’s goin!
You have no idea how many times I dial from the cell phone and forget to push the green button and then declare, “Phone’s not workin!” Sometimes I am on my phone while looking for my phone.
I never know where my phone is. I often call my phone. I am not one of those people who’s always looking at her phone.
My phone sits around with 5 apps open and a fast-draining battery.
When my whole family’s home, I ignore my phone. People hate that.
My cell phone may as well be a husband text machine and a camera with Instagram capability.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful our kids have the opportunities and teachers they do. It makes me even more grateful we moved home. I’m grateful my husband helped in the yard, I’m grateful for Mr Blue Sky, and I’m grateful for my health, about which I keep knocking wood.
Also, friends of ours picked up this honeycomb for me in New Harmony. It is the most delicious honeycomb I’ve ever eaten in my adult life. As its crystalline sugary goodness dissolves, I am transported to my childhood. Oh Sweet Nosh, how I love you!

Mt. Dew, yes, yes, no cell (though it has become important in the last 3 days.) And Ive never actually had a honeycomb before. Always wanted to try some though. Does it taste like just honey?

Oh Orb, you must try the honeycomb. Yes, it tastes like honey. As you spoon out the comb, more and more honey comes out. There’s a textural difference, of course. You put the comb in your mouth and the honey drips out (ecstasy!) and you just eat it. There’s this sorta texture, kinda like wafers, this airy sweet texture, (heavenly!) and lots of honey — until eventually there’s only wax. Like nature’s wax lips. I chew on that until it doesn’t taste like honey at all and I swallow it, but some people spit it out. Some people who spit it out then cook it and make things from it…
Put the honeycomb on the cheese. Put the honeycomb on the toast. Put the honeycomb on all the things. lol 😛

    My answers:
    1) Coffee & Water because I need both.
    2) No.
    3) Drunken Snow White, petting the cat.
    4) I’m conflicted. I want both.
Bonus # 1) The change in weather! Blue skies, sun, summer-like warmth!
Bonus #2) I am looking forward to a meeting with my peers on Wednesday and a day off to plant flowers on Friday.
Enjoy your honeycomb and Coke, Joey!

I am more of a hot drink kind of a person and drink copious amounts of tea and coffee. If i am going to have a cold drink then it must have ice in it!
I am a listener too, until I feel comfortable then I won’t shut up, and blabber with nerves!
This was a lovely post in getting to know you more 🙂

  8. Honeycomb with coffee reminds me of my grandpa. That was his preferred way of using it.

I know I’ve said it before, but I really do enjoy your responses to this prompt. As long as the cell phone has enough battery to call AAA or the Mister, you can change a tire.

Sounds like I do with my cell phone…mostly I use it for taking pictures, and texting my daughters. I have to remember how to actually use it as a phone!

  13. As ever, I enjoy your responses. As for me, the ‘non-alcoholic’ stipulation rules out my top two (a glass of rouge or, even better, another glass of rouge) so it would have to be a mug of Earl Grey. Of course I can’t change a tyre. On #3 I’m with Polonius: “Give every man thy ear, and few thy voice”. You can keep the phone but interfere with my internet at your peril. And at my age I’m just grateful for waking up.

Also I’ve nominated you for the Sunshine blogger Award because every time I am over here I laugh so very much! https://lisalancaster.wordpress.com/2016/05/23/sunshine-blogger-award/

Fountain Coke is best with crushed ice. Just saying. 😉 😀

I could do without making phone calls on a cell phone, but must have my smart phone!

  16. I haven’t had a fountain coke in years. When I did, it was flavored. (chocolate or cherry was the favorite). I was staring at that honeycomb, trying to figure out what it was…maybe some artsy take on a beverage glass ??? ☺☺ Nice share, Joey.

YES!! Someone who shares my ambivalence towards phones. I never seem to have it when I need it … and I rarely care.
hmmm – never occurred to me that my battery is draining because I have multiple apps open. Maybe I should check that.

… wonder where my phone is? …

Love the cartoon. I relate to it. I can talk with people at a party when necessary, but the best partygoers are always the pets, who never want to know what I do for a living!
