We had storms of the best sort last night. First the sky fell out for about an hour. Then it slowed some and that gave us a moment to stand on the porch and breathe in the smell. Ooh the smell. So good.
As the rain poured down, we ate some yummy dinner and watched our shows and then we went to bed early. The sky was all cymbals and kettledrums. The Mister gave me such a good back rub, I fell asleep.

Love to sleep to the sound of rain. Mmhm.
But then, I woke up this morning AT FIVE AM and —
*breaks down a bit*
and there was no wifi.
I know!
It was so sad.
For like, twenty minutes, I stared out my window.
Then I remembered I can fiddle with the box dooji, so I did that, but it didn’t work.
I was so sad and life was so weird, I didn’t know what else to do. Like, if the internet’s out, do you still make coffee? Do you turn on the tv? I think you’re supposed to cry yourself to sleep nap a bit. I napped a bit.
Later, I text The Mister about my sadness. He suggested I fiddle with it. I fiddled again. That’s when I realized my first fiddling had um, loosened the plug from the outlet. Oh, haha.
So yeah, the storm knocked it out, then I unplugged it when I reset it.
Always make the coffee. Always. Come rain or come shine, interwebz or not.
I got a lot done. I missed y’all though.
When in doubt, always make the coffee and check that the malfunctioning equipment is plugged in.

Hahaha. We had all the storms here today, where the sky fell and the booms and the lightning. And almost the tornado (the dogs and I hid in the basement). No fun. After, I called my father to see if he was okay, and fortunately all was well except…no tv and no internet at his house. Works fine at my house next door, but nothing there. So when my brother got home, I told him to go fiddle with the box dooji. No dice. Now I’m wondering if he unplugged it when he was fiddling!
The internet repair guy comes tomorrow, so I guess we’ll see.
Glad you enjoyed your storms. I usta enjoy storms before the scaredy dogs all entered my life. Now I loathe them because I know I’m gonna get upset dogs.

At our GA home, lightning must have taken out two before we decided to rent the stupid thing. So annoying! Best of luck!

I don’t know how you survived! It is a horrible feeling when it all goes out. I do a lot of jiggling when it happens, and it does help sometimes. Glad you got back to your routine! 🙂

I love a good thunderstorm. My wife insists on opening up the windows so she can hear it better. Until it rains across the sill, then she wants to close them.

Me too. I do too. I sometimes put a towel on the floor by the northern’est’ window, but that’s usually the only one it comes through.

The mister is a real keeper. A storm rolls in and mine rolls over and starts snoring. For once, I’d like to fall asleep before he does. Mine was a long day…the longest day this year as a matter of fact. Just sooooo long. And boring.

Mine bought me earplugs on January 1st. Life has changed a lot since.

The tragedy! Mine knocked off a couple weeks ago, after tinkering with it, trying to reset the router settings online, etc. for over an hour, I realized I had been resetting the router that goes to our wireless home security. Hit the button on the right router and all was right with the world. Crisis averted.

I love the way you tell these stories, Joey. We had thunderstorms, Monday night into Tuesday, but no back rubs, unless consoling the dog counts. We always have coffee. The Mrs. has made coffee on the wood stove during a power failure. She has her priorities.

We had nice thunderstorms that knocked out the power for a while on Monday evening.
We take electricity, wifi, etc…so for granted. It really is disorienting when they’re taken away. We usually just read, or talk, or go to bed early.
I guess that’s why families were so much bigger 100 years ago. On account of all of that going to bed early 🙂

A good gully washer of a storm is always great. Unless you live in a flood plain in which it probably ain’t. Our cats don’t dig the thunder,they hide under the bed. I find it amazing how addicted people are to the internet and all of the toys associated with it. I know I feel “cut off ” from the world when it is down. Considering that I lived more than half a century with out it makes it even sillier.

I think the same thing. Usually I wake up online — about ten years now. I had to read a book. To wake up. In the morning. Then I had to watch the weather on the tv. It was odd. I’ve no excuse except habit.

I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll go back to FB…Im having such a good time doing more things that I want to do instead of arguing with vapid stupid people…Oddly, for reasons I don’t understand people don’t like to be told they are vapid and stupid…who knew?
