These doors are all neighbors. The warm wooden doors and thoughtful details give such a homey, welcoming feel.
“My, what a lovely home,” I’d say to any one of them.
I can’t pick a favorite, although I lean a bit toward 324. I love that doorknob and the standing letterbox. Plus, it’s yellow and it has a porch. But they’re all charmers, aren’t they?

They most certainly are charming. I think I lean a bit towards 407. The 2 tone color, the transom window with lace curtains and especially the light reflection that makes the whole thing look as though it has a bar code. Rather quirky.

Those are all great doors, but I’m leaning toward 331. The detail on the wood door, the brick steps, the porch trim, the color of the shutters. That door/house calls to me.

Beautiful! They remind me of some of the doors in the West End of Louisville, where I grew up. It’s one of the oldest parts of town, and now one of the poorest, a little shabby, but some of the houses were beautiful, and had such wonderful detail. I love those transoms! An important cooling feature in houses with 10-foot ceilings.
Of course, now I’ll be humming The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane all day! lol

I would love to sit on the porch of the first photo and 331 with some iced tea and a book; however, I wonder about the steps to the door in the second photo. It seems to me that they could be a little dangerous if one was out of sorts or wasn’t paying attention or had too much wine.

I agree. My back door is like that, and it’s quite atrocious in wet weather, snow and ice. But then, I looked at the cost of buying new steps…and the time in framing and pouring your own, and well, those steps will be atrocious a bit longer 😉

We are so boring out here, I’d have to search in some very specific areas to find anything that would make an interesting door. In my neighborhood we have someone who has a red steel door instead of the standard white…quite the shocker really…lol
Love Thursday doors, especially when whimsical. My favorite was still the gate you’d found, I know, not a door…but it makes my imagination soar!

This is a nice collection. It is hard to choose, but I’m going to go with 353. I like the little overhang and the lamp and I like the somewhat random dark bricks in the wall.

All beautiful. Partial to the contrasts of 331. Sad that new homes rarely have this kind of detail. Do you know approximate age ? Lovely community.

They’re pretty much all in the late 1800’s. I talked to a handyman for one of the houses and he told me that that particular house (324) was actually moved there from the east coast (built in 1700 something.) It had been a governor’s house in its previous life.

I love these doors too. I think I’ve commented here before that I think windowed doors are gorgeous, but I’d never feel safe with the glass that close to the knob.

I like 321 best, with all the different details. I’ve been on the look out for interesting doors here, but still haven’t found any. All I see are plain glass storm doors on houses, and all businesses are just plain glass, that you push or pull to get in or out, or those automatic opening ones. Boring! Keep posting your interesting finds! I love looking at them. 🙂

Oh, I keep meaning to ask…do you just walk up into someone’s yard to take a photo? Does anyone ever come ask what you’re doing there? Or maybe you have a good camera with a zoom lens? 🙂

I do not walk up and take photos, generally, not at a residence anyway. I stand on the walkway, and yes, people sometimes ask. I tell them I photograph doors and theirs is beautiful/gorgeous/interesting. They’re always flattered, sometimes ask me where they can see them, sometimes give me details about their homes.
I use my iPhone.
When I have grainy photos, it’s usually because I couldn’t get my camera to see as I see it, and then I have to crop, because I was too far away.

I’m booting the neighbors out of 331 and taking over. All of these homes are adorable. And they look small. Less cleaning!

They’re tall, long, and narrow. Definitely in the 2000 sq ft range and up.

They’re all very beautiful, Joey, especially with the shadow effect. I really like 331, with its lovely shutters and decorative porch. The chair cushion even matches the shutters.

GAH! It is hard to pick a fav! If I had to I’d pick N°321. I love the etched house number in the Transom window above the door, and the ornate glass and carving or molding on the door.
It’s Americana to me.
I also really like the black and white one at the top. But, I love black and white everything. It’s just so classy and timeless no matter what it is. Next to Red, and Blue doors this combo is right up there.

What a wonderful neighborhood. It’s the kind of neighborhood I wish we lived in. Everybody’s door in our neighborhood looks the same. Some may be a different color, but yet they are the same as the next.

whoa! Tough call. I too hadn’t noticed that each had a transom. I think I would lean towards 321. First, it’s such a great house number 😉
Maybe it’s the dappled sunlight, the window glass, the ornate door, the number in the transom, the yellow house (I grew up in a yellow house) … I don’t know. This one talks to me 🙂
