Eating Frosted Flakes while wearing earplugs is like listening to a tree shredder

I tried eating some Goldfish while at the gun range with my ear protection on. Just did it once. Gave me a whole new perspective on sound.

Hahaha! Bet you never thought those Goldfish were so crunchy before! 🙂

I’ve never tried eating with ear plugs, but may have to investigate their use with potato chips. I have chewed when I had a plugged up ear from allergies. It is loud…I can never hear the TV.

Yup! Me too, I need at least 5+ on the volume to hear while I eat! 🙂

Its funny that you post about sound as Ive had an issue w/ my tinnitus lately. Saw the doc this morning and he wants to know if it gets worse, as sometimes, its so loud I cant understand why folks cant hear it (till I realize wth it is anyway..)
Crazy weird.

OH YES. No one else hears your tinnitus. No one else feels my foot buzzing. It can make you think you’re crazy or that the world is trying to make you think you are!

I find I have to turn the volume up on the tv when I’m eating. The chewing sound drowns out everything.

Good point! My deaf ear means that if I put my good ear into the pillow, I fall asleep to the sound of blood pumping through my veins.

I don’t want to say you’re fortunate for having a deaf ear, but that’s one of the reasons I like the earplugs. Whoosh-whoosh 🙂

Ugh! I hate that sound of my own breathing. I feel like I have Darth Vader in my head. Not exactly a soothing sound to sleep with!

I looooove it. I sleep so well with the sound of my breath and heartbeat. Earplugs changed my life.

Ok, said the curious cat. Why would one eat whilst wearing earl plugs (I get the gun range, or flying B-52s)? And I am dying to know why y’all had them in to begin with. Something amorous, I assume.

Hahaha! NO! Nothing amorous! I sleep with earplugs in and if I get thirsty or hungry in the night, I wear them to eat or drink — at first. The noise is amazingly loud. Bananas and oatmeal make noise, Frosted Flakes and pickles are chainsaw loud! Carrots sound like you’ve broken teeth!

Yes, it is deafening! 🙂

I went deaf in my right ear for nearly a week and just the creaking of my neck muscles was enough to drive me mad.
