One-Liner Wednesday — Sock Mates

Sassy likes to wear mismatched socks so I don’t match hers anymore. The other day when I asked Sassy to take her non-matching socks, she made a sad face and said, “Intersocks couples have rights, too.”

She likes the low cut socks in all patterns. I must say, her feet are always festive. We went to run an errand the other day and I had to stop her, because she had one Hello Kitty purple striped sock and one white and yellow striped sock (sans kitty) and she slipped her feet into silver and purple zebra patterned ballet flats.
          “Too much?” she asked.
          “A bit,” I said.
LOL Like someone’s crazy gramma, I thought.

ha! so fun… and there were times that my spouse was putting wrong socks together – not all women’s low ankle socks are the same – and while I was grateful that he even did the socks – we all found a better way to get socks folded and put away…. we try and mate the socks with each load – ones that can’t be mated go into this special basket that easily stores on the side of dryer….
once in a while I will mate some from there… but folks can dig as needed – and it really helps.
    anyhow, super fun one liner….

We bought Audrey some sets of intentionally mismatched socks; you get three, all different, then pick whichever combination you fancy that day.

ROTFLOL! Whenever I would accidentally put on non-matching socks, my mother would ALWAYS say, “I’ll be you have another pair just like that one.”

Sassy is so funny and creative, Joey. It almost has a little “naughty” in it, but I am not disparaging your sweet girls in any way. My mind just went that way! 🙂
I am heading this weekend to my Mom’s in Cleveland with my weekend, “shadow” boy Micah. I hope you have a great picnic or gathering for Labor Day weekend, Joey. I am far behind in my reading but will drive you crazy in the fall and winter months when people stop buying auto parts in three states we serve at Advance Auto warehouse D.C. #23. ha ha! WE have two ten hour days then off three days and then next week, (seriously) they say we will work four eleven hour days! Yikes! I have been there for 8 years but stay for the pay. . .
Hugs to you and yours, Joey. xoxo

Hahaha! Awww… she’s right you know. I rarely wear matching socks, but only because I’m too lazy to match them up. The kids HAVE to match.

  19. Love this. Non-
matching socks have been a fad here for years. #first fad that makes moms happy. No more matching stress.

  20. Oh my goodness, this hit close to home. Tell Sassy that the CoChair of our MG group is in his 30’s and a previous Army vet. He intentionally wears mixed socks with his Birkenstocks. It is a hoot, and he loves the reactions he gets from his fellow MGs. Go Sassy. 🙂
