Have you ever owned a rock, pet rock, or gem that is not jewelry?
I feel like I’ve answered this before. Never had a pet rock. I’ve had plenty of polished stones and whatnot, but Moo has pilfered most of them. There’s an amethyst egg in the bathroom and I’ve got a trio of lil Buddhas, two of which are jade.

What is your greatest strength or weakness?
I think everyone’s strength is their weakness and their weakness is their strength. Mine is probably intuition which might translate to assumptions and paranoia. I’ll remind you that just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean I’m wrong. *wink*

What makes you feel grounded?
Green grass or snow underfoot. Or even the squishy sand my feet sink into at the shore.

Would you rather never be able to eat warm food or never be able to eat cold food?
I’d give up warm food. I prefer my food is never hot. I dislike hot food. I feel like I cannot taste hot food, all I sense is HOT! It keeps me from being a chef. Chefs don’t have time to let the spoon cool.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
In this last week, I’m grateful for cool summer nights, Asian pears, iced coffee, and of course, the people who enrich my life.
I can’t say I’m looking forward to anything in particular, but I appreciate that this week won’t be crazy hot.

  2. Actually, if they are all out to get you, you aren’t paranoid.

I think these could easily be my answers! From not-so-warm food to squishy sand and polished stones to strength also being weakness.

    I also collect perfume bottles!

Ah, intuition. Mine was insight. Which also occasionally looks like paranoia. 😉

I am totally with you on hot food. I will risk the alliance and say that I also can’t stand hot tea or coffee – warm is good for me.

    No pet rock for you?

    Here’s to more cool nights!

Totally with you on the squishy sand squeezing beneath my toes. Makes me feel alive, which is why I try to get to the beach as much as I can.

Interesting questions. I used to have a piece of fools’s gold I picked up in my travels. Lost it somewhere. I thought your food question the most interesting of them all. I don’t like hot food either. Actually when you are a chef you have to let the food cool a bit in order to properly judge the taste. Besides most of the time your own meals are cold by the time you get a chance to eat them. I don’t think intuition equals paranoia. You just know what you know.

      You’re quite kind, thanks 🙂
So many cooking shows, and people always tasting burning hot food! Good grief I do not do that. I set my spoon of sauce or whatever on the side of the stove and do somethin else for awhile. I’d long assumed tasting blistering food was a requirement for cheffing.
I do know what I know, but I can’t explain what I know.

I would probably have to go with the warm food. I need it for the winter months. I can do soup in the summer, but I don’t want cold in the winter. Brrrr.

  12. Even I never owned a rock, pet rock, or gem. My greatest strength is Hope and I feel grounded if I do not have the freedom to do whatever I want….

Interesting questions. It was fun reading!

Interesting answers to some interesting questions. On intuition; your perception of your own intuitiveness re paranoia, could be correct if you were aware that your reactions to certain situations were based on it, especially if they were opposite to your reasoning. How intuition is perceived by some is the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning, which to me implies we are probably not aware that we’ve used it. I’ve learnt the hard way, that the saying/cliché, “we shall allow our intuition to guide us” has got me into hot water on a good few occasions, mainly with the wife, and my children. An example: My two daughters were acting somewhat strangely, so my intuition was telling me, how wrong was I when it turned out that they were planning a birthday treat for me. How did I find out, well I was so convinced that they were up to no good, that I threatened them with a grounding unless they told me. I broke their little hearts, and mine. That happened over 30 years ago, and still brings a lump to my throat just thinking about it. Yes paranoia did set in after that, made change my approach to a lot of situations, which might of been bad or good. Things had to be blatantly obvious before I followed my intuition, back then and right up to the present day.

Anyway your photo is definitely grounding, love the stand of purple loosestrife in the foreground.
    Best wishes,
    Mick
