I’m with Moo – I wear a hoodie the entire year. A/C set to cold, heat set to “we don’t need any freaking heat, we’re saving money for A/C season”

Have I mentioned how much I like your wife, Dan? LOL

Yes. You. Have. I like her too, but her thermostat could be better calibrated in my opinion.

HaHA! I haven’t got my heating on yet and I never put it on upstairs..that’s what duvets and blankets are for! 🙂

Whereas people on the other end of the thermostat wish they’d been born in An equatorial rain forest just so they could be warm.

The dreaded central heating has gone on at home (at Rhonda’s request) for the first time this week. I hate it, bloody horrible germ generator, everyone will have a cold by this time next week, I bet.
I’d sleep with the window open all year if it was up to me, but I’m outvoted by two shivering girls, so I’ll have to stifle for the next three months.

How awful.
Is it steam heat? I’ve never heard that about the germs, before. I like an open window, too 🙂

Not steam, hot water radiators. Germs always prosper in a nice warm environment in winter and central heating gives them a head start.

I suspected. Our heat is natural gas. Not too common to have radiant heat here.

No, I’d prefer warm air ducted heating but it’s not as common as it used to be.

I’m always cold. Our old house is drafty with high ceilings. So, we try not to use the heat too much as not to be wasteful. My favorite thing is to wrap up in a blanket freshly removed from a hot clothes dryer. 😉

Very nice! When my children were small, I’d put their clothes in the dryer on cold mornings. ❤
Our furnace is a bit of a diva, we do not take the heat for granted, that's fersure!

My brother always keeps his house at 55 both winter and summer. Moo would hate it.

55 is too cold, even for me. Not inside. He must be a REAL polar bear!

My former mother-in-law was a polar bear. Their house was never warm enough for me in the winter, but the summer was actually worse. She would run the A/C at 65/66 degrees. The FIL would get mad because he was freezing and turn it off entirely. They never understood “happy medium.” I spent the summers outside in the flower gardens as much as possible. Brrrrr!!!!

Uh, well, in Georgia I ran downstairs at 68 and upstairs at 62, because it’s freakin hot in Georgia and 62 barely made it comfortable and our bedroom faced west and I bout cooked. We seldom used the heat in Georgia, and never, ever upstairs.
Here, with air I’m 68ish at night and 72 for days. Heat, 68 and space heater in the living room in the evening.

I can understand your predicament in Georgia. I’m not a fan of excessive heat and humidity either. I think your A/C and heat temps in Indiana are more like normal. I could take that.

Oh good 🙂
If you come to call, I can face the space heater at you and give you a nice hot cuppa 🙂

I’m with you, Polar Bear. And today, we have 87 degrees !!! Damn summer…go away. I just got used to sleeping with a blanket, now the A/C is back.

I know, right? It was in the freakin 80s the last two days. *couldn’t even*

I don’t know what it is about some folks’ metabolism that causes them to think it’s hot when everyone else is freezing their asses off.
Whatever the case I share Moo’s pain.
I tell you whenever we’re expecting company at this time of year I have to secretly turn up the heat a few hours before the guests arrive and hope she doesn’t notice, or sit there embarrassed during dinner watching our guests shiver as they eat.

Oh my. Shivering dinner guests won’t do. I’ll strip down for dinner guests, it’s always hot in the kitchen.
Sorry about your coldness. *offers blanket and hot tea*

Right now I’m perfectly comfortable and I don’t want to jeopardize it!!

Hahaha! 🙂 Enjoy! It’s too warm here. Well, not right now, cause 60-somethin and storming, but it’s been in the 80s for two days!

Pffft … somehow I managed to survive the summer of hellish temperatures without functioning a/c in my car.
I think I can handle these last few days of above average temperatures 😉

I have gas heat and that is crazy expensive. Plus I really like my sweaters–they are made for wrapping up in and keeping me warm. Gas company be damned!

Gas company be damned, indeed! The problem is, when you live down there, your blood thins and you adjust. I mean, I never adjusted, I was always hot, but I did become less cold-tolerant.

Well don’t cha? I have a metabolism that craves the sun and heat, You prefer a more civilized atmosphere. I get it.

I get cold easily in the summer with A/C at work and it makes me irritable. But somehow, being cold in the winter with cozy blankets and hoodies, soup and hot chocolate, doesn’t seem so bad.

My husband’s office is apparently frigid in the summer as well. He said many of the women keep throw blankets at their desks. :O

You’d hate my house right now, I’ve got the heat on plus my ceramic heaters, and you know it’s not THAT cold in SC.

The Mister made me turn the heat on the other night when it was supposed to be 37 overnight. That lasted about an hour, took the chill out, since then it’s been on 67. 😀

I grew up without heat or a/c in our home. It was Florida, so lack of heat was okay except for some dreaded winters in the 80’s! I keep the house cold-when my mom shows up she always brings socks and jackets to wear around the house.
