Do you prefer eating foods with nuts or no nuts?
I’m not nut-adverse, I like nuts for the sake of nuts, but I am kinda picky about nuts in other things.

If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction?
It would be a drama with exactly the right dose of comic relief to keep you from a complete downward spiral. Critics would hate it. It’d be too good for Lifetime, but nowhere near good enough for an Oscar. People would quote lines from it all the time, but not remember where they heard them.

Who talks real sense to you?
The last time I remember having to be talked sense to was five or six years ago, and it was my friend Tracey who did it. I am not regularly accused of makin sense, and yet, I talk sense to people fairly often. I suspect sense is overrated.

Do you have a favorite board game?
No, I don’t think I do. I love board games. Scrabble would be my fave, but I prefer Scrabble online, cause I don’t have to do any math.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
This last one was a BIG week for gratitude!
Thanksgiving was fab. In addition to our own brood, we hosted Master Boombastic and one of The Mister’s former soldiers and her daughter.

Luffly weekend, the tree’s up and all aglow, pie is now breakfast food, the furnace runs and runs — I keep not dyin while drivin in the rain in the dark. I sure do love my husband.
This week, I am looking forward to the return of normalcy, whatever that is. You know, the more-often-that-notness of typical days? Regular schedules and dinners not comprised of a meat with 16 sides?

I’m pretty sure I quote stuff from your blog, all the time. Sometimes I say “Joey said” but only if it’s to my wife ‘cuz she’s the only one who knows who Joey is.

Oh, brownies with nuts…UGH. Talk about a quick way to ruin delicious chocolate! (Which is unfortunate for at least two people in my house since they love them like that, but hey…whoever does the baking makes the rules.)

  4. I like the sixteen sides, I really love that all I had to make was potatoes and I cheated on that by bringing them whole, pealing them, and letting my brother cook them. It was wonderful, but I didn’t get any leftovers.

Nuts in banana bread are a requirement.
And your life movie sounds just like mine would be.

I like nuts in almost everything. Especially chocolate covered nuts! I’m just trying to get back to “normal”.

You oughtta be a movie critic, Joey! I love that Robert Frost quote–so weird to think he actually said something like that. The sheep selfie….cannot stop laughing.

  10. I love to play Scrabble. I love the “16 sides” even better than the turkey, especially when one of them is cheesecake. 🙂
I’m glad that you had a great Thanksgiving and hope that you have a blessed week ahead.

I like nuts plain;especially cashews; although they aren’t actually nuts. Peanuts. I like peanuts. I eat stuff with nuts in them. It just depends on my mood. I think my next pecan pie will be made with pecan pieces instead of halves. Or maybe peanuts. A movie of my life? I think it would be a cross between Gilligan’s Island and Clockwork Orange. Sense? What is this sense you speak of? I am not a big fan of board games. However many years ago when I was in Alkirky New Mex, I and some pals would engage in some legendary games of Risk. Sitting around playing, drinking coffee and smoking pot. Oh so long ago. Love your Lamb Chop selfie

  14. I’m with you. Nuts are fine on their own, but I really don’t love them in other stuff. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. Your home sounds very festive. 🙂

Your post was full of “truths,” Joey. I think you could give a good talking to someone and give them some sense!
I welcomed when I was a parent, the “return to normalcy,” when holidays ended. I do think leftovers are blessings. 🙂
I think that your sheep photo was so sweet of ewe.
Your week will be nearly halfway done before I get around to all my friend’s posts. Happy almost December. ❤

  18. The tree is up here too, and I’d go for pie any time, any day, any flavor. 🙂 It rained all day today and was dark gray all day. I had to drop off my Linus blankets, and told the contact I needed to do it at 3:30 and not 4:30 because I didn’t want to drive in the rain in the dark. Dark + rain = stay at home if possible for me. 🙂
