Deadline, Heh

I am one of those people who will post every day in January, because, well, I always have. I usually do what Linda tells me to because it’s a lot easier than using my own imagination. I don’t plan to use all her prompts though, like today is spider and I got nothin but veins.

jjj-2017

Today, I’ll just jot about how I’m having a lovely long weekend, apart from the thing where I don’t know what day or date it is or whatever. You know how that happens? Like, you spend all day thinkin it’s Saturday when it’s Friday and then you don’t know what day to wash the sheets, or put the bins out, or “Why are they closed, it’s only 6 o’clock?” I’ve got a dire case of whatever that’s called, because I haven’t been straight about the date or day since Thursday, and I hadn’t even been drinkin then, so I hope… *looks at calendar* It’s still Sunday?!? How long has it been Sunday? I hope Tuesday feels like Tuesday the 3rd because I know I’ll be strugglin not to type 2016 on everything as it is. Typing dates correctly is crucial, lest you schedule your boss for a meeting in 2106 when you know damn good and well that’s beyond the deadline. “Deadline,” she punned.

Why have I not heard of this before? No! NO! I will NOT do another blog challenge! I will NOT! Looking forward to sitting back and watching other people do it, though.

  6. I was all at sea about the day while the girls were here for Christmas because everything was different (although I still had to remember which several days I worked.) Today I wrote a check for church, so I thought long and hard about getting the “17” right, even checked twice (like checking Santa’s list). So far, so good, but we’ll see if that holds. 🙂 Glad you’re enjoying a lovely, long weekend…but maybe it isn’t really the weekend and you’re supposed to be at work!! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

Haha no, not due to work til tomorrow, and quite glad to have the extra day. I was still messed up today, waiting for the church crowd to die down before running out. When I pulled up, I laughed at myself again. Not so churchy Mondays. LOL I’ll get there!

And here’s me thinking it’s Sunday and the 1st and the New Year and it should be easy. How convenient is that? Every day? Wow. I’m trying to groove into twice weekly again. Tuesday is on “praying” (it’s not that bad), and Friday might be on the nature of humans (are we merely animals who fuss a lot?). Happy New Year.

Wait.. it’s Sunday? 😉 I’m with you on the whole what day is it thing. Ever since Christmas I’ve been mixed up on what day it is. But I know tomorrow is Monday… I love Mondays. And that’s no pun… I actually do. There’s something about the start of a new week. If New Years Day would have fell on a Monday, I would have loved it even more. 🙂
Wishing you a wonderful week! ❤

If the downside of a long weekend is a little confusion, I’ll take the risk. Enjoy another day off. Except from that whole mom job. I hear that’s 24/365 doesn’t matter what day it is.

I can’t be bothered this year. I’d forgotten all about it until sometime after Christmas and I’m so far behind on everything else that I’ll never get time.

The only spiders I might be inspired to write about would be the keystone cops species featured in “8 Legged Freaks” . I don’t recall how it was I wound up watching the video, like maybe Amazon Prime offered it so I gave it a shot, but it’s a ridiculous movie about bungling spiders trying to cocoon a town and everyone in it. You see, spiders just aren’t supposed to be that big. It throws them.

How good of a rapport do you have with your boss? See how long it takes anyone to notice 2106, better yet make it 2107.

This happened last three weeks! I thought 3 weeks lasted forever, but… well.. Did you know they last just three weeks? I hope I don’t mess it up further!

Ahh Time. Didn’t Einstein say that time was an illusion? If a genius thought that then surely common folks, like us, can be allowed to keep Sunday around a few extra days.

I have had that day thing wrong as well. It doesn’t help when my husband has an extra day off…for the last two weeks.

I remember the turn of the century – how hard it was to write “2000” – seemed unreal.

I hear you on the days. Ever since the kids got out of school, I’ve constantly been wondering what day it is (and then going “Oh, shit!” when I realize it’s close to a day where I have stuff to do). The kids go back tomorrow, and being able to have a grasp on the days will be about the only good thing from it.

*laughs* this was great, Joey. I get lost on days and dates too. Hate when the new year rolls around and I have to remember to change the date on checks and copyrights, et al. Good luck with remembering not to schedule your boss into the future!
