Dreadful day to put a coat on.
Lovely day to sit in my throw and drink my coffee and listen to music and play on my computer.
Sun shinin, sky blue, snow on the ground.
Yeah, it’s only eleven degrees but the wind’s barely movin.
For most of us, temperatures are relative.
I consider it cold when it’s below 20F. Below 20F, I’ll definitely put a coat in my car when I leave. Wear it? Meh. Depends on what I’m doin.
I was asked about this recently.
“You didn’t wear a coat today?!”
“No, I wore a big sweater though.”
“Oh, so you’re like, REALLY a cold weather person.”
“Yes, I really am.”
A day like this, sun shinin, sky blue, not much wind — well if it’s like that over 65F, I might well complain it’s too hot.

I get cold easily, but it does depend on what I’m doing. I don’t mind the cold if I’m moving around a lot. But in the summer, when I worked at a desk, I had to bring thick sweaters and a blanket for my lap like an old lady. 🙂

Temperatures are relative and depends on what you are used to. I know when I have been up in the mountains in the snow it always is warmer to me when the sun is out and sky is blue. 🙂

I get cold so easily! I have adapted some though! In Florida, I needed a hoodie in the 70’s. Here, I’d probably be out in short sleeves. LOL

That is definitely adapting 🙂
I recall once, after we’d lived in Georgia for a long time, I once caught a chill in the shade, and it was in the 70s.

Sadie looks pretty happy out there. I’m a wear-a-coat guy. I like the cold, but I like being warm in the cold. Nice job on the prompt.

you would have died laughing at me this morning. 31 degrees. That meant 2 layers of clothes, my extra warm North Face jacket (my warmest jacket) plus the long, fringey scarf my son’s girlfriend gave me for Christmas a couple years ago. Cause, ya know–wind chill. And gloves, just in case. Turned out I didn’t need them. Pockets instead. 😀

I know plenty of people like that. I knew more when I lived in Georgia 😉
I’d be out in a sweatshirt and people’d be all bundled up in their parkas and whatnot. I always assumed they’d come from Hawaii or Guam or somethin!

I prefer the cold if I can stay warm! I have low blood pressure so this is an issue. Adorable picture!

We haven’t see 20 for too long, although I think next week we’ll make it, at least for a few days. In the Chicago area, the wind seems to never stop and with it, we’ve had many, many hours/days with negatives in front of the temperatures. So I wear coats…and sweaters under them (although not multiples of either at the same time.) I do love winter, though, but we don’t have any snow, which makes me sad.

It’s the wind that makes me cold, too, Janet. That biting wind. I don’t care if it’s 40 or -4, that bitey wind chills me to the bone!
And it is a crime against nature that you have such bitter cold and no snow! I am familiar with that kinda sad.

I first read this as you not thinking it’s cold until it gets below -20F. Which prompted me to wonder what kind of unholy mutant creature you might be, or if that was just your way of letting us know you belonged to some horde of the undead. Zombies or vampires or the like. GoT White Walker, perchance?
Anyhoo. I’ve got a 9am meeting I’m supposed to attend tomorrow, when the temp will be around 18F, so I fully expect to drop dead with a chestful of lung-icicles no later than 8:45. Been nice knowing you!

Hahahaha! I hope you’re still breathing icicle-free right now.
Yes, I don’t think it’s too cold until about 20 but maybe you like the summer, when I feel like I’m melting at 70?

Nah — I like 65-68 degrees. That’s about it.

My brother loves it cold, too. I doubt you would like it cold in Phoenix, though. The beauty of cold by you is that it’s a “humid” cold. Here it’s a dry cold which is just nasty. It feels like nature hates you. I’d forgotten how lovely the cold is in Michigan til we went two years ago to see my dad.

I must have too much desert in me. At 20 I wear a coat, gloves and a hat. Furthermore unless the sun is shining I prolly ain’t even going out. Sun is good.

You do look a little cold out there 🙂 I love the cold even though I cannot bear the cold… And having layers of coats just means it hides the holiday weight even better! What’s not to like?

I prefer to be a bit too cool rather than a bit too warm, so I like this winter weather because… layers. I adjust myself as necessary with an elaborate on and off “system” of outerwear. Meaning my coat often accompanies me in my car, I drive, it passengers.

Heh, I’m 40 there 🙂 Thanks. I think we’d get along fine. Most of my friends are warm weather types 🙂

I’d be walking around like the kid from A Christmas Story. I bundled up BG good this morning when we went for groceries, it was 32 degrees, and she was screaming in the backseat about being stuck. She’d rather freeze than be warm 😀
