If you lost a bet and had to dye your hair a color of the rainbow for a week, what color would it be?
That would never, ever happen. I’m not big on sayin never, but that would never, ever happen. My hair is medium golden brown or medium golden brown with gray. I freak out if my hair comes out a little too dark or a little too red or if my highlights are too light, so there is no way I would be walkin around with any rainbow shade atop my head, not even for a week. I have serious hair control issues.
If you could choose one word to focus on for 2017, what would it be?
Hah! Ally Bean just brought this up last week and I said mine would be BREATHE for about the last six years. Breathing deeply for more than 20 minutes a day is a permanent goal. A lot of people with anxiety disorder breathe like we’re on the verge of hyperventilation and we don’t even notice it. When I notice it, I tell myself to BREATHE.
What was one thing you learned last year that you added to your life?
Earplugs are fantastic. They were awkward at first, but I sleep so much more.
If life was ‘just a bowl of cherries’… which fruit other than a cherry would you be..?
Last time I went with pineapple, and I think I’ll stick with that, but cherries are still my favorite.
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week, I find I am most grateful for The Mister, for friends who ask the hard questions, and for my health.
This week coming up, I’m looking forward to our new schedule. With my family back in school again, the holidays really are over and some consistency should return.

Thanks for participating in JusJoJan – Deep breathing is a nice way to grab some control of your day. I don’t know if it helps, but I like to do it every now and then.

Breathe is a good word for all of us. I’m a little disappointed that you won’t be dying your hair a rainbow color. Oddly enough I’ve thought about this question on my own and concluded that I’d go with purple. I think it would flatter my skintone and coordinate nicely with my existing wardrobe. 😉

I hope if you do the purple, you’ll be pleased 🙂

I can’t even. I’ve got an appointment I need to set with my local hair salon to get oil-slick hair (this is a type of hair color…look it up and then laugh at me!). I made myself a promise I’d do something purply and fun if my recent tests came out A-OK, so I just have to fit it into my schedule (and feel OK enough to sit through the process). 🙂

I am familiar with the hair color 🙂 I may admire any range of colors on another head. I think you should totally do what makes you happy!

Ha!! Glorious red, “enough,” Blue Apron, and my life would definitely be a bowl of mangos.

Earplugs are one of the best inventions, I agree.

I like cherries as well, if only they weren’t so expensive.

Me too. Much of that with fruit. About mid-June here, when the cost goes down considerably, I buy a ton 🙂

You sleep in ear plugs? Can you hear your alarm with them? I don’t like having anything covering my ears–you know, like I would miss something going on while I was sleeping. 😀

I do. It’s been about a year now. The Mister snores, the cats play, the house creaks — and I don’t hear most of it! 🙂
For a long, long time, I was afraid of sleeping through things, but I’m not afraid anymore. My kids are older. I need sleep. I deserve sleep.
I DO hear my alarm, and sometimes Moo coughing, and the dog barking, and sometimes The Mister’s snores, but mostly I SLEEP! 😀

I think women hear this stuff. I can hear Parker getting sick at night and the heat cutting on and off. Amazingly, my husband hears nothing!

Yeah. It’s a real thing, mansleep.

Breathing deeply really helps…when I can remember to do it. 🙂
Have a good week!

Deep breathing is supposed to be good to do before going to bed and I’ve been trying it, as well as putting on relaxing sounds of water and crickets. Seems to be working to some extent. I started with the sounds over Christmas when everyone else was staying up late, watching movies, and the sound carried up to my ears much too much.
My highlights are all from nature (or God), but our younger daughter, with naturally brown hair, has had it short and blond/e as well as pink. Not really my thing. 🙂 I’d chat more, but I’m obsessing about those beautiful cherries, so I have to go away and start breathing.
Sleep well,
janet

Getting back to a routine would be great. Our daughter works basically swing shift…she goes in when others aren’t available and it is very hard to set a schedule of any type when her hours are like this. Hopefully soon they’ll put her on a straight shift.
Ahh breathing deeply is a great idea! I have to remind myself often to do that.
I understand your feelings about your hair. I don’t generally like hair surprises, but I was pleasantly surprised by the purple hair. 🙂
Have a blessed week!

Thanks, Joey. I think she joins us in that hope. She really would prefer working at night, not 6am. 🙂
Have a blessed day.

Remembering to breathe is so important. My counselor tried to make me understand when things got bad at work to stop a moment and breathe. I could never remember to do that. That may be the main reason I ended on disability. The stress just got to me body and spirit. Thanks for reminding all of us!

It’s one of those lifestyle things that should be natural, but some people have to learn, unfortunately.

The verge of hyperventilating thing is so true. I thought all that deep breathing stuff was hooey at first, but legit as hell.

While I am strictly against complete coloring, I wouldn’t mind getting the ends of my hair dyed… maybe a nice shade of blue or violet! I think you can shock yourself by trying out YELLOW! 😀

Dyeing the ends is good for people with color sensitivities, too 🙂

I love all of those vibrant coloured hair dyes. I would love to go pink or blue!
Funnily enough, I have only stopped dyeing my hair in the last year or so after 30 odd years so I now know what my natural colour is! Unfortunately, grey is now elbowing its way to the front and I have a little streak!

I have a streak too. Right from the part. And then, temples here and there.
You could probably pull off some fun looks, with your colorful personality 🙂

My mother’s gray is gorgeous. If I get enough silver, Imma run with it! 🙂

I love that sparkling silvery look, but I reckon I will end up going that awful nicotine yellow colour after so many years of having smoked! That is when I will break out the bright coloured dye I think! 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
No no, it’s not the smoking that will do that, it’s being in smoky environments 🙂 My mother smoked for 30+years. You’re good. But it will be fun to color regardless!

Is Platinum hair created by dye or bleach. I would want Platinum hair. Then I can say I was Billy Idol in his later years.

Ha! Billy Idol? 😛 I don’t know, I truly have no idea. The only platinum blonde I know was born that way.
