P she wrote, and I thought of P Control by Prince and the astounding number of people who can’t say the P word without squirming or stuttering.
But I’m not jottin about that.
Perhaps it’s a good time to write about what a Friday I had. It began painfully, as I had to drop the girls off EARLY. The rest of the morning moved at a snail’s pace. I was scheduled for a performance review yesterday and although I feel positive about my performance, I also have anxiety disorder, so I had to alternate panicking, chewing on my cuticles, and remembering to breathe, pretty much in that order. That made for a long morning.
I accidentally set off our alarm, which did not help. Neither did the extra coffee. If you drink enough decaf, you eventually get caffeinated and oh, the peeing.
But then, I went to work and I had my performance review, which was all peachy and prosperous and I was pleased. Perfectly euphoric, really. Before you know it, it was past time to depart.
We went out for celebratory dinner. I had a delicious cocktail, French onion soup, a Caesar salad, and I almost consumed an entire four-ounce filet.
The Mister had already paid the check when Sassy reminded me they have creme brûlée, so yes, we did reorder.
It was so good.
If only every day could end with creme brûlée.

Haha! At first I thought you were talkin about the creme brulee!
Yeah, it’d been about 12 years since I’d had one. Don’t think that helped, either!

4oz isn’t a bunch of filet, for some people. But ending with a nice desert would make a day feel special. I had my review on Thursday. Must be that time.

Last summer, I almost ate an entire 6oz filet 🙂
I’m sure your review went well, and I bet you weren’t nearly as nervous as I!

My boss is really good about never having surprises at those things. You always know where you stand. 6oz, wow. I’m still thinking sandwich, but better.

Pounds and packets of congratulations on your peachy performance review! Creme brulee always breaks my heart, because it always looks so divine and then I take a bite and I’m like, “YUCK! CUSTARD!” Your creme brulee looks like something I could actually eat with delight, with a vastly high ratio of crusty sugar to mishy mishyness. It looks like it might even have flavor in it. Perfect!

Crème brûlée is one of my favorite desserts too, Joe. This one looks like a real classic. Love them best, although some new adventurous chefs can be quite inventive. I had a lavender one over the summer and always plan to try it. On my list for 2017! Glad your performance review went well. At home we also have celebratory dinners for such occasions.

Oh, I do love (love!!) crème brulee. This looks divine! Congrats on your performance review–peachy? yes!
Hey, how is your weather? News showed you are one of the states being hit so hard with all the freezing cold. Hope you are ok! Don’t drive–the accidents look (and were) horrendous.

Well, we’re stayin in, so I can’t say I know much about the bad weather. I think this might be a case of weather hype. They sorta made it sound like we were gonna have a huge ice storm, but so far, it’s slushy. I wouldn’t go drivin right now, but it’s not an ice storm. 🙂

Thank you for verifying that you can get caffeinated from de-caf coffee. Since I rarely use caffeine, I can feel the tiniest amounts. II like it that way. 🙂

There’s still caffeine in decaf, it’s just so small most people don’t notice. Like 10mgs per cup. I notice, too.

A day that ends with creme brûlée is a good day especially one with a positive review. 🙂 As far as the caffeine and the bathroom visits, well, it only gets worse from here on in. But, the coffee is worth it every time.

Bonus points for going back to order dessert. Extra bonus points that it was creme brûlée. Oh yes. You know how to celebrate!

If I had to “stream of consciousness” the letter “Pee” I’d have to urinate at least twice before I was through. It’s just such a suggestive word!
