Marking Time With Words

Just Jot It January is always fun, but I do enjoy days off, so I’m not sad — rather, relieved. My stats, if you believe in that sorta thing, went up in January compared to some months, but May and August still saw more views even though I didn’t post every day. I think I’ve settled into a pattern where mostly the same people read me and I read mostly the same people, and I LIKE that.

Yesterday marked four whole years of Joeyfully Stated. I started this blog when we still lived in Georgia but also when I knew we’d be leaving. What a great big needed change that was! Facing so many unknowns, I needed this consistent space where I could ponder and rant. Of course, life goes on, change continues… Still I appreciate this outlet and this audience.
Y’all are good for my brain.

Thank you for reading, for liking and commenting, for sharing so much of yourselves, for dispensing your wisdom and offering your opinions, for your support and your kindness.

Congrats! I’ve noticed the same thing – bloggers who are loyal to each other. What’s interesting is they are also people whose writing I admire.

  4. You’re welcome. And you’re good for us too. I moved to Eataly (yes, calling it this now) almost 4 years ago too (will be 4 in mid April). Wishing you right on here for a long time to come.

No..Thank you. My blog is rather specialized so it appeals to a rather small group of people. You never know what you are going to get with yours until you take the first bite. That’s why I like it.

Congratulations on four years. I’m glad that I found you along the way. I’ve had similar experiences as yours. I’ve found that when I join group blogging efforts, my stats go up a little bit. But when I follow my own muse, my stats go up really high up. That being said, it’s fun to join in with other bloggers sometimes, if for nothing more than the moral support.

  16. When I first started to blog, by human wrote a post-it and stuck it on the medicine cabinet.”Today your blog will reach 100. Love ya!” It’s still there because it makes me happy. I have 200 followers – supposedly . Like you, I love how much I feel like I know the few bloggers I communicate with regularly.

  17. Happy Anniversary, Joey. Yesterday was my blog anniversary, according to WP, 5 years. But, I only wrote a few posts in 2012, then abandoned it until September of 2014, which I count as my real beginning. Glad to have connected here, yours is one I never miss. 💖 I’ve slowed down my pace quite a bit…it seems to work better for me to skip some days.

Thank you so much 🙂 I’m glad you’re here!
I think days off from anything help. I don’t always skip reading, but skipping posting certainly has its merits.

Blogging every day is really hard … it looks easy, but it’s grueling towards the end of the month. Congrats on surviving Just Jot It January and congrats on your blogging anniversary. I’m a relatively new follower, but I’m glad I found your blog. Keep on writing 🙂

Congratulations and Happy 4th Birthday! 🙂 🙂 And what you said – “I think I’ve settled into a pattern where mostly the same people read me and I read mostly the same people, and I LIKE that.” Exactly.

There are certain folks that I am so comfortable reading and yet they always pleasantly surprise. It leads to a camaraderie rather than simply prowling new blogs just for the sake of networking. It is the person and the work that stays 🙂
