Nice, intriguing door. I also found the variety of surrounding surfaces and textures, along with the steps, provided interest and architectural drama.

My gods, woman. Are you, like, constantly snapping photos of doors or what?? I mean, I love this collection but I am also picturing you going through your daily routines constantly tensed for good door photo ops, as if you’re a monster-hunter out on the Ness or a small child scoping for princesses at Disneyworld!

Great doors all,but I think the top one is far and away my favorite. A hidden door leading to a hideaway space. Do you remember Brother Junipers?

  12. Brilliant collection! I’m trying hard to recall if I’ve ever encountered this sort of entrance-way in “real” life. I don’t think so.

That last one has a real “Dark Shadows” kind of feel to it. I dig it.

Love the views you’re giving us here! Especially the last one, maybe because it reminds me on my country of origin, where you see many of these cellar doors (Holland).

  18. I like the first photo most of all. The pink overhang and wrought iron fence give the entry way pizzazz. 🙂

Well, aside from being a little out of breath from going up and down all those stairs I do love your idea for a theme this week. Nice collection.

  21. I’ll have a theme like this one of these Thursdays, as I spotted some of these in Philadelphia. My favorite is that first one. The colors are so warm, friendly, and bright.

  22. A great angle to shoot the doors from, how did you manage to find so many doors at the bottom of steps and get a clear image? Any time I try to photograph a basement door, my shadow gets in the way. Obviously my shadow must be bigger than yours, lol.
