SoCS –And How!

How do you do?
How d’ye do?
Howdy do?
Howdy!

I’m a howdy do person. You?

Greetings from Indianapolis, where yesterday Bonnie Blue told me it was 74 and I believed her because it got so hot in my office, I had to go outside for some air, and considered that I may need a fan to get me through the spring into the air-condition time.
All week was warm like that. Walked the park with Sadie. Wore lightweight clothing, even short sleeves at times, donned loafers without socks. Slept with open windows.

Rains came yesterday. Little thunder and lightning. A rainbow. Big winds. The first of the maple propellers, or whirlygigs if you will, made it into the house yesterday.

Now it’s 29 and snowing. Light, fluffy snows, not the kind that bend and break the pips who thought it was spring.

I don’t mind a bit. I took that photo with bare feet. I love winter. Besides, I don’t have to go anywhere today. The Mister has homework to do, Moo’s dragged her bedding to the couch to shop for new bedding, and Sassy’s friend is coming for a sleepover.
I have no obligations.

Got some beautiful roast beef, damn near bloody. Gonna make sammiches with it. Gonna add tomato, arugula, swiss, a lil dijonnaise. Got some kosher dills and some sea salt kettle chips.

Gonna do a bit of housework. Always brush the critters first. I’ll dust down the master walls and the ceiling fan, sparkle the windows up, vacuum. I’ll do a lil laundry. I might even clean out my handbag. I’ll read the blogs and laugh at the memes and play my word games. Later I’ll bake a carrot cake and make black pepper chicken. When that’s done I’ll fix what’s left of my nails and sit in a steamy lavender bath.

It’s a good day to be me.
Howdy do?

I need a nap after reading all of that. It is going to be a great day though. 😘

That sounds like a lot of work on a do nothin day. If I did half of that, I’d need a nap. I took the dog for a walk and later, I’ll conduct more research for my “having a beer” series.

Not a howdy person. Not a ‘hi’ or ‘hey there’ but I like hearing ‘howdy’ from others.

    Enjoy your easy day.

In comparison to last Saturday when I lay around my bed all day, it is quite a bit, but yes, for me, this would be a light/easy day.
I look forward to reading your Having a Beer research, Dan 😀

  3. I’m a “hello” to strangers and “hey-hey” with a giggle to friends. What an amazing day! I’m curled up in bed suffering some root canal aftermath, but I’ve written two posts and caught up on reading twenty more. So it’s a good day after all!

Oh Sunny, I’m sorry for your mouth. I have suffered many dental aftermath situations and you have my sympathies. Wishing you speedy healing! Hurrah for reading and writing from bed — Take it easy 🙂

Howdy Do To You Too. I use howdy myself. I haven’t the foggiest bottom idea when it became part of my vocab. I don’t think it was original equipment. More than likely an after market add on. I like your schedule. Mine is less structured; more “organic”. In other words I don’t know what I’m going to do until I start doing it. Not always, but mostly. Have a very Happy Saturday and enjoy yourself.

I have to worry people will starve to death, or eat all the snacks in one day, so you know, meals must be planned. I have to say things like THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED until x time or whatever, or they’ll eat me outta house & home. lol
I hope you have a wonderful, warm, tasty, organic day, Benson! 😀

Tired just reading your agenda for the day. We shopped at the discount club store and I’m all done for the day.
Also, I type howdy but say hey. 🙂

Is a light Saturday, not like last week, when I had that dreamy bed day…but still light. Moo and I did all the shopping Thursday night. It took the entire 100 years of Thursday night! 😛 I’m glad your shopping is temporarily completed as well.
      Enjoy your Saturday! 😀

It’s a busy Saturday (again) but I’m sitting here in shorts and sandals (with bright red toenails) so I can’t complain. My house needs all of what you’re doing and more, but I only have an hour before we have to leave for our next gig and I can’t make myself do housework with so little free time. It’s a catch 22 — I look around and sigh at the state of things, but then I look around and sigh at the thought of getting to work on it. Good for you! Enjoy your Saturday!

Ooh, Girl, take those red toenails out and show them a good time!

Two weeks ago, I cleaned the common area windows and I took all my kip into the bedroom with the intention of doing those on Sunday. Well, instead I got sick. Then last weekend, I lay there lookin at it… You know that ceiling fan just spits dust all over the place all winter long! I can’t look at it anymore! What if I wanna go in there and read tomorrow? LOL

Your today sounds like my yesterday, lol. I got tons done that Id been meaning to do, and the snow we got didnt amount to much either. At a balmy 27, its still nice enough to take out the trash, so I can finish my chores, lol.
Oh, and I just got up, so..Good Mornin! 🙂

I’m a “hello” person, with the accent on the 2nd syllable. I’m with Dan on your quiet day. Seems awfully busy! My idea of relaxing is lying on the couch with a book and only getting up when nature calls. I made a salad for a family party tonight, though, which meant getting groceries and that finished me for the day.

      Helloooo Susanne!
Last Saturday, I basically spent the day in bed 🙂
And we had salads Wednesday night 🙂
I endeavor to read tomorrow — in my bed, sans dustwebs 🙂
This isn’t heavy for me…I’m all done with the housework and it’s not even four 🙂
      Enjoy your party!

You know most people in the south say ‘hey!’ Covers all the bases: Hi, ‘morning, how’s it going….without the effort of all those syllables. I love your day!

“Howdy” is a Texas Aggie tradition. If’n ya don’t howdy me back, you might hear a loud “HOWDY, DAMNIT!” Not really, but it’s the thought that counts. On my walk this morning (34 in light snow), I had six great ideas for my blog on Tuesday. By the time I got back home, I had forgotten all six. Wait. Maybe it was five…or four. Dang it; I only need one.

  15. Never got out of the high thirties here today. It was pretty and sunny, but stayed cold. I’m a westerner, and howdy is part of the language here. I worked on my manuscript today and made great progress.

I’m a little late with a Saturday howdy, so how about a Sunday “Hey, how’s it going?”

Wasn’t the warm weather gorgeous? It was like going to Florida without having to leave home. Winter came back here on Friday with snow, sleet, ice and thunder. It was cool to listen to the weather from inside, but not so much having to drive to work. We’re back to typical February weather and I’m glad that the sun is shining and it’s not -20 degrees.

Sounds like a nice Saturday to me. After upper 70s yesterday, it felt slightly chilly at upper 50s today. Coolest it’s been here in a couple weeks I think. Love it.

I’m a little late, but I do like the sound of your day … well except for the part about walking outside with bare feet when it’s freezing and there’s snow on the ground.

… but other than that, it’s all good 🙂
