You know how people do go on about summer and get all excited because it’s hot and sunny and stuff? I’m in no hurry for that. Apart from the garden, I could skip summers. This is my kinda warm weather right now. The In-Betweens with their fifties, plenty of rain and hella wind. I love these days the way other people love their precious summers.
Wearin sweaters and canvas shoes, the wind whippin my hair crazy — Ooh! What’s better than sunshine on your face and wind in your hair?
Comin home to crash?
To eat tacos ravenously and sleep hard? These things are good!
There are my furboys, soakin up the sunshine.
Here are my furgirls, snuggled up beside me.
Back and forth, back and forth…
Winter’s not done here. Yes, I’m sure. But there are messengers tellin me it’s time to take inventory on seeds.
Soon I will peel back decayed leaves to reveal the rich dark smell of fertile loam.
These things never happened in Georgia. Next week will be four years since I moved back to Indiana. This is the weather that welcomed me home — damp and green and full of promise. And then, of course, it snowed just for me!
I still thank God I’m home EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I was thinking today that perhaps spring is my favourite season ass it can be warm and sunny but not overly hot, but then I do love to swim in the sea and it needs to be very hot before I will brave it!
The sensation of the sun on your face and the wind in your hair is a gorgeous one indeed. Enjoy!! 🙂

I like this kind of coolish warm weather, too. I enjoy the colors of summer, but once the humidity kicks in I’m stuck inside. Right now I can go outside with a jacket on and groove on fresh air.

Cute furbabies! I’m longing to see the crocus and daffodils pop through the ground. Very soon! I’m more of a fan of the 70’s and low 80’s (no humidity) and looking forward to that in two or three months, along with the biking thing. Cheers to spring!

I like weather around 65 to 70. I love to have the windows open in the house. Nature’s air freshener.

I like this type of weather too. I also like the summer with the sun and heat. If it is too cold or too humid then I get bitchy. I guess like most folks who like the different seasons I prefer Spring and Fall. Thanks for sharing. I saw a little yellow flower in the front yard just this morning.

Beautiful flowers, furbabies, and Joey! Autumn is my season. I’ve been terrified of tornadoes since I was wee, so spring is kinda iffy for me. I do love the flowers, the wakening earth, the days that feel warm now but would feel cool in the fall. Oh–Just bemembered: I need to go huntin’ mushrooms!

Life’s been rocky, but I need to get some real purpose of going out – the crocuses and daffodils are coming up, and this may be my last year here. Maybe…
I miss the days when I was in charge of the garden and the weeding and the perennials, and husband mowed the grass, and we were sufficient unto ourselves AND it didn’t take forever. But I can’t MAKE them come back.
Enjoy yours for me. Especially the crocuses: you can’t bring them inside.

Oh, loss is sad. Your fur babies are adorable. I love watching the bulbs come up and get frosty, but they still bloom. Lesson to all of us.

I wouldn’t like a place without winter. I can groan about it, but I’d miss it if it didn’t show up. I also like spring, and since we had winter, I’m ready!

I like every season (“For everything there is a season…”) and each makes me also anticipate and enjoy the next, although I’m always sad when hockey season is over. Oh, you didn’t mean that sort of season? 🙂 Hey, there’s another photo of you with normal-looking hair. What’s going on?

I’ll have to give it a try. My grandmother’s mother had jonquils planted at their old home, and she dug some up to plant at her house, where they still grow everywhere! 😀

I think having a family, husband and job are really challenging. My friend, Bill, who is a great friend, sometimes sympathizes with my son and DIL. He raised 5 kids, too. He juggled a lot of jobs, along with fulltime one. He calls the 30's through the 40's, the "hunting and gathering phase." No time to play and rest on one's laurels. He is part philosopher/realist.

I’d say The Mister has been busting his ass since 1993 and now it’s like his way of life. He yearns for time to pursue leisurely things, like taking classes and reading FOR PLEASURE. I very much appreciate his dedication to providing, he’s made it possible for me to care for our home and children. I think it’s been wonderful for him to go to school and focus on his own achievements, I am so proud. ❤

I’ll be a while before we see anything poking through the ground, but after the long winter, I always welcome it with excitement.
Like you, I’m not a fan of the hot and sticky summer. Give me the 60s and 70s, with cool nights for sleeping … but you can keep the wind. Ugh. No wind, thank you.

I’m not a big fan of wind when I’m outdoors…hurts my ears, but I love to listen to it whistling through the trees from the comfort of indoors 🙂
