How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
I dunno, anywhere between five and infinity, depending? I don’t look my age, and I don’t often feel it. I am, at times, aware of limitations. I feel like an old soul, albeit an energetic one. I have trouble remembering how old I am, and how old other people are. Age is kinda weird. I think it’s because of the numbers.
So, you’re on your way out and it’s raining. Do you know where your umbrella is or do you frantically search for it all over your apartment/house?
My umbrella’s in my car. The girls took their umbrellas, so if it was raining hard, I’d put on a hat to get my umbrella. I seldom use my umbrella. I am not an umbrella person.
Do you recharge your energy by going out with friends for a good time or by spending with quiet time alone?
I recharge at home mostly, seldom in physical solitude. Green spaces can recharge me some, too.
Name three things you and your spouse, partner or best friend to have in common.
Love of music, love of outdoors, love of travel.
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Much as I hated the pace of my busy week, I ran the full gamut of emotions, not the least of which was weeping with joy on several occasions. I am grateful The Mister didn’t have school and was available to daddy. I am grateful my kids have the opportunities they do. I am even more grateful Sassy gave witness to those opportunities. I am grateful I live in the city.
Now that it’s over, I am grateful I made it through. I am grateful I had most of the weekend to recuperate. I’d like to take the day off and spend it here on the sofa. Time will not stop for me.
This week coming up shows a SPLENDIDLY BARREN CALENDAR! That should be enough to look forward to.

In the past, I never remembered the umbrella. In Florida, rain passes in 20 minutes…you just wait it out. Here, it can rain all day. Now I try really hard to remember the umbrella! 🙂

For the most part, we just get wet. I am familiar with the southerners’ attempts to avoid getting wet 😉

Whatever travail you weathered, I’m glad you made it through. I’ve had a few rough patches (some that felt like my psyche was torn off in the process) myself. It’s always good to get to a ‘normal’ week to find your balance.

I would love to have a “SPLENDIDLY BARREN CALENDAR” but that won’t happen for a while. Still, my calendar is never as choc-o-block full as yours, as I am really only dealing with getting myself around. Enjoy the week!

I’m in love with splendidly barren calendars (by the week). I long for them. It’s something I haven’t seen in quite some time. And won’t for a couple months, at least, yet. And now I’m in migraine aura so I might take a very big black marker through the day.

I do feel a little better. I went over to see Perry and read to the cats with hat and sunglasses on, so now I feel a little better. Cats are the cure.

Funny, I must be getting to know you because I predicted the answers fairly well, though I did not think about the umbrella being in the car. I think umbrellas are annoying because they are so drippy when you bring them inside. Rain is why we have hoods on our jackets.

Yay for the empty calendar. I was getting a contact high just reading your busy-busy posts from last week.
I wonder if anyone has studied self-reporting old souls? (I think I’m one, too. Yeah, I know. Quelle surprise. Although, to be different, I’m not energetic.) I wonder what other common denominators there are.

An interesting group of questions this week, especially the one about age. I’ve always had the same experience as you, of looking “not my age”, which is really quite nice.I’m happy to read about your barren week, although in my experience, at least when the girls were still at home, those holes in the calendar tend to fill up more quickly than you might like. Still and all, just enjoy some renewal time!

Their spring break begins this week (hence all the busyness of last week!) so it should be all kindsa low-key over here 🙂 My guess is no later than Saturday, they’ll start hatching plans to socialize, but I know they need a break, too.

Interesting questions this week!
A barren calendar can be such a blessing when life has been crazy busy.
Age. Spiritually I feel like I’m somewhere between 17-28. 🙂 I haven’t felt like my chronological age since my early 30’s.
Umbrellas. Mine is in my car, but I’m more a hat gal so don’t bother digging out from the bottom of the cargo hold. But, I haven’t got a great rain hat. I wish I looked fantastic in a fedora like the one Ingrid Bergman wore in Casablanca and I had the $$$$ to wear it in the rain and not care b/c I could replace it. Unfortunately, I’m neither.
I did buy a new straw summer hat yesterday. It’s not the hat I had in my head when I went shopping for one, but it’s cute, and will keep my nose, cheeks, and chin in the shade.
I got a great deal on it. The guy sold it to me dirt cheap because it’s so small he hasn’t been able to sell it. Lucky me! My hat size is a kids size. I say my head is so small cause my brain is stunted. 🙂

You are SOOO right. Age is weird. Here I am, closer to 70 years than I ever thought I would be and yet I don’t think I am old. I sorta’ kinda’ feel 30 something. At least until my body starts telling me otherwise. As far as being able to tell someone’s age by their appearance? Haven’t a clue. I just figure that most people I encounter are younger than me.

Age really does throw so many of us into a loop! Maybe we should start quantifying age not by years but experiences… That way, I don’t have to unnecessarily bow to people who claim respect only on the basis of their age!

Barren calendars are the best! I’m not an umbrella user either…I’m from Seattle and real Washingtonians don’t use umbrellas.

Sometimes I think that you have to make time stop for you. Just tell the world you’re not available, and get on that sofa. Wish my calendar was barren, but it’s spring and stuff must be done. *sigh*

I feel like I’m in my forties and this works since I am dating a younger man. I am waiting for him to come over and teach me how to make lanyards and bracelets out of paracord. It is month #10. We are happy but he doesn’t always “get” me, which it doesn’t bother me too much. When I say, “I’m lame.” After joke falls and lies down deflated, then he’ll say I’m “silly.” Then, I am content. 🙂
I need an umbrella and regularly lose one every year. I circle back and still don’t find it. Oh well! At least it’s not expensive!
