Have you ever participated in a distance walking, swimming, running, or biking event? Tell your story.
Several times the walk-a-thons. I don’t think I have any stories to accompany them.
Name one thing not many people know about you.
I enjoy car rides as much, if not more, than any dog.
What is your favorite flower?
Tulip.
Part of why I love April so much is because my tulips are in various stages and it seems there’s a new one open every day.
Things I want to have in my home (paintings, hot tubs, book cases, big screen tv etc)
I’m pretty happy with what’s in my home, I love my house. As time goes on, we’re not as pleased with the closet(s) storage. More built-ins would be good. In terms of how spaces are used, I’m a big fan of shelves.
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I liked the part where my boss closed the office early. I’m grateful for my family. We shared a lot of good times and good food over the weekend. Glad we’ve accomplished so much in the yard, and that we had many helping hands and good weather.
This week coming up looks like it’ll be typical, with extra bunneh shopping and more chocolate than usual.
Cee’s Share Your World is a weekly feature and all are welcome to join in and play along.
What’s going on in your world?
Tulips were my favorite flowers until I discovered dahlias. 😀 Thanks Joey for sharing.

Beautiful flowers. I think we need to plant some Tulips again. Of course the squirrels would probably did them up, but maybe one or two would survive.

Thanks! It’s the truth 🙂 It seems where I live, the darker tulips, the queen of the night purple, are the most tasty. I don’t think they’ve eaten a single red one. I plant more every year, but I’ve given up on the purples.

Joey, I hope you keep your head INSIDE the car. Especially when you’re driving.

I will tell my distance running story (but, yes. Lots), there is reason not many know, I don’t have favorite flower, but it’s kinda shiny object syndrome, whatever I see, My wife may be the shelf queen, I am not much for “stuff”– fridge, bed, office chair, lappy, the usual. Glad I got it done last week, hoping for the same this week.

April in NorCal is wisteria season! I’d be thankful for it if I didn’t have such bad hayfever!

Beautiful tulips, Joey! What I want to know about enjoying car rides is do you stick your head out the window and let your tongue hang out? 🙂

LOVE the dangly white tulips – is that your artistry or do the posies droop like that in the garden, too?
LikeLiked by 1 person
When they’re in the garden, they droop only the slightest bit, because the stems and leaves help support them. When I cut them, I go as close to the ground as I can, trim off the bottom leaves, thus, eliciting the droop 🙂

Did a marathon once when I was 18. Got a award for showing cuz I got lost following the wrong group after a bit & there were 3 other running events going on there, and it was a convoluted route.
I like the little white flowers on dogwood trees.

I used to run marathons and AAU cross country races. Before my culinary degree I had a degree in Classical Literature and Languages and I was a pipe fitter, welder. I think roses are my favorite flower. I love your tulip pics. I am pretty content with my crib. I am thankful for my family and my friends. Especially the kids.

I knew about your previous work, very diverse, a real Renaissance Man! Thanks and yes, especially the kids 🙂

I love tulips but something tells me they would become jerky in this climate. They’re totally intimidating!

It is my experience that you can plant tulips in the south, but that most years, the ground will not get cold enough to freeze them and they won’t bloom.
Forcing them to bloom after life in the freezer works well, though.

You are so lucky to love car rides! I can’t stand them. I used to be able to read my way through hours and hours when I was a child but that makes me carsick now. These days I can make it between 2 and 3 hours before getting squirrelly. At 3.5 I get actively antsy, after 4 hours I can’t keep my mouth shut about it anymore. Oh, plus I’m old, so my back hurts afterward.
Yeah.
So, you’re lucky to love car rides!!

Tulips and the Easter Bunny with chocolates just go together, Joey. I like when we get out of work early, too. I tried to get a guy to take me on a car ride (I love being the front seat passenger. . .) to see the place my brother did that mural in the Blues Creek meat market. He ended up getting his children. I was happy for him. 🙂
My grandchildren and I went to see the girl Smurfs in the Lost Valley and I ended up really liking it. We went to the park and enjoyed su shine then for 2 hours. 🙂 Have a marvelous week leading up to Easter. 🙂

Mmm, perfect park weather too 🙂
I’m afraid I’m not well enough to have a marvelous weekend, so Imma wish you my share on top of your own! xo

So sorry to hear you are under the weather. Darn, my reading too quickly! Sending you get well wishes and flowers. No hugs since I am trying to stay healthy to head to Cleveland after work on Good Friday.
OK, I will take your choices and add them to mine. He didn’t end up taking me. I have been there and even caught Randy in a photo under a smaller mural and we all had fun when it opened. Sky, Micah, Carrie and I met up with Randy and it was cool. The family had given him photos of family members so they are all in the mural. His bonus was over a thousand dollars given in cash, while the rest was a check to deposit and record for the IRS. I’ll go another time with Calisto. He loves art, as do his boys.

I love tulips. I can’t grow them because of the exterior rodents which I hate when everyone else thinks chipmunks and squirrels are so cute. And, any excuse to eat chocolate is a good thing. 🙂

Hah. Yes, the squirrels (I love) will eat them. They’re particularly fond of the dark ones — the queen of the night and the other purples. They don’t seem to eat the red ones at all. So, I plant more every year and so far, I’m winning 😉

Tulips are my favorite flower, too. Although pansies and/or daisies are a close second and third. I wish that I liked car rides as much as you did. For me they’re a necessary nuisance, but maybe if I think of myself as a doggy I could cultivate a better attitude about them.

I really like that vase of Tulips you have on your table.
My favorite flower out of all of them is Hydrangea. I just LOVE those great big pom-pom blooms.
Looking forward to more chocolate here too. 🙂

Thank you! Oh yes, hydrangeas are beautiful! I have two hydrangeas, but only one tends to bloom. Peculiar, hm?

I would think Sun or Soil for the one not a bloomy. Mine is in a real shady spot now and I worry about it surviving. It used to get late morning sun before the remodel. Now it shade all the time. It looks pretty straggly, or stringy. Of course I’m always afraid it has bit the dust each winter as it looks so terrible then. 🙂

I don’t know what they’re like there, but in the fall here, they dry out and look pretty for about a month. Lots of people take them in and put them in a vase, but I leave mine. They’re on the eastern side of the house about five feet apart. The northern one only bloomed in 2015. We shall see if it blooms this year 🙂

Mine is on the eastern side of the house too. I only have the one bush. Last I looked it was still looking dead. I need to see if it has sprouted any Spring leaves or buds for Summer blooms. Fingers crossed for both of us!
