All is everything lately. She wrote ‘all or nothing’ and my first thought was nothing. I certainly can’t give all. I need the weekend. I need the nothing.
I do tend to extremes, and generally lean toward all. Balance is the goal, hmm? I’ve been actively seeking balance for more than six years. In truth, I still swing from one side to the other, but I know if I stay away from too much all, I need less nothing. I’m aiming for the middle more often now, so I know I’m doing better.
I loathe starting and hate finishing, which reads odd, like I don’t enjoy doing. I enjoy doing. I so enjoy doing. Better to phrase the middle — Once I get going, I don’t like to stop. I feel sometimes like I can’t stop, because if I stop I’ll have to start again and I hate starting.
It’s raining and sometimes storming all weekend.
I just got two new books and these pajamas are super comfy. Plus The Mister has gone to get take-out.
Even my nothing is full, but it lacks a schedule, and that is all.
Stream of Consciousness Saturday — SoCS ‘all or nothing’ is brought to you by LindaGHill
When you come back from having nothing for a while, there is an awful lot on the to do list, and sometimes you wish you could just crawl under the covers and do nothing again for a while.

Hah! Yes, sometimes it’s like that. Today, however, is just reading and love and food 🙂

Doing nothing sometimes is the best. I like your idea of PJs, books, and take-out! We had some stormy stuff with tons of lightning, and hail last night, but not a lot of rain. Enjoy your weekend! 🙂

Thank you! It’s been restful 🙂

Oh dear, every way but which way, but please don’t make it nothing at all.

Good books, comfy clothes/PJ’s, not having to cook, and no schedule? Life is ALL good. 🙂 Enjoy!

Oh, how much this last sentence applies to me too. Actually, I think I might win on nothing. Wanna fight? 😀

No no, you can win, it’s fine. I’ll just keep reading 🙂

I used to be obsessed with the doing. When one project ended another started right up. I still stay busy but the nothing looks pretty good now. Enjoy the weekend.

Thank you! You too 🙂 I know the obsession of doing, mmhm.

Delightful word play! (And the play is often all, no?)

Play is so all for me. I wonder what it’s like to be a person whose play is the nothing? Peaceful? Easier on joints?

“play is the nothing” = permanent intermission. Sooo… I think lots of snacks and standing in line for the bathroom.

Oh, you would make a great writing partner! Most writers can do starts and finishes, but blanche when facing the muddly middle! Your PJ day sounds deevine. Hope it turned out that way. Stormy and drizzly here: a great day for loafing.

The muddy middle is often where it’s at, but it needs organization.
Another great day for loafing here, too 🙂 Enjoy!

Hope you had a lovely weekend, Joey doing nothing at all except enjoying the comfy pjs and take-away):-)

Thank you! You too? It’s been swell. We did go out a smidge, but for ICE CREAM! 😛

Now that is worth going out for! I worked all over the weekend at my job in the community. I can still do shifts here and there which is great as I get to keep my hand in and see my workmates! 🙂

Oh nice! Yes, you’re sure to bring the smiles and it’s good to keep your skills sharp! 🙂

Just…this. This. Every single part of it rings true.
“I feel sometimes like I can’t stop, because if I stop I’ll have to start again and I hate starting.” Yep. Except sometimes I find I’ve petered out without noticing until I look down and realize dammit, I stopped working on that, how am I gonna find the energy to pick it back up?

I wore pj’s almost all day on Sunday. I tried to catch up on blogs but failed. I did watch a “boomerang” film from library. It means you return it to library in 3 days. “Moonlight” was a good movie but it was sad in the theme. I watched a couple of comedies! This helped my day to relax. Hope you enjoyed your day, Joey!

Hurrah for the relaxing! I haven’t seen Moonlight yet. We watched Real Genius, old 80’s movie Saturday and I did most of my lie around reading. I ended up out most of the day Sunday, but it was all very, very good!

I can relate to “I need the nothing.” That’s a very good line. I hope you were able to recharge over the weekend.

I typically oscillate between nothing to everything …. either I only breathe or there is no time to breathe! Tell me when you get the balance? Or even if you desire to….

I HAD TO start seeking balance around age 37. I had a breakdown. Let’s hope you don’t experience anything like that! x

You knew this was coming if I read this….. Billy Joel – “Darling, I don’t know why I go to extremes. Too high or too low, there ain’t no in between.”
I am savoring my nothingness because I want May to go away!

HEHEHE! Yes, just like that. I love that song. Well, I love Billy Joel at a 98%…
“Sometimes I lie awake night after night coming apart at the seams… Eager to please, ready to fight!
Why do I go to extremes?”
😛
Good stuff!

I’m with you – start or finish and wave at the middle as it goes by seemingly so quickly. I wish you middle, my dear. 🙂

Thank you. I’ve had three weeks of near full and I shall have three days of near nothing. Then hopefully I can middle to August 🙂
