Share Your World — May 22, 2017

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?
This question may be too open for me. Do we mean goals and dreams? Finish writing a book? Fill most of my yard with flowers and shrubs? Get all of my kids to adulthood? Train Sadie to open Amazon boxes?
I’d like to see the Northern Lights that always eluded me. Visit more places. Take a really long train trip. Take a really long walk.

How often do you get a haircut?
Rarely. Sometimes years pass before I get a haircut. I’m quite capable of trimming my own ends. I trust me.

In regards to puzzle what’s your choice: jigsaw, crossword, word search or numeric puzzles?
I love crosswords.

How many cities have you lived? You can share the number of physical residences and/or the number of cities.
Eight. I’ve lived in seven Indiana cities and one in Georgia.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
It was a busy, busy week! Again! So much, most of it’s a big blur.
I enjoyed Moo’s concert. I think we’d hit the perfect level of sleep-dep, where we were slap happy and snarky, and oh we did have fun!
I had a lot of close encounters with critters. That’s always nice, isn’t it? A baby bunny who let me drive by, a hawk in my tree, a sparrow talkin to me…

I’m grateful Moo baked Challah bread for 150 people and we still have some.
I liked the part where my boss took us to sushi lunch. Always have a boss who orders lots of new sushi for sampling.
I am grateful The Mister filled my car up, brought home carryout linner, and took us for ice cream. I ate ice cream three times over the weekend!
And y’all, after weeks of not, I finally cracked a new book!
I’m grateful Sassy and I not only walked a coupla miles in unexpected sunshine yesterday, but also got groceries.
But I think I am most grateful for The Mister, cause you know, ooey gooey love shit.

This week coming up, I’m lookin forward to the girls’ orchestra performances, planting sunflowers, the end of the school year, the night I cook black pepper chicken, and of course, the long weekend!

Cee’s Share Your World is a weekly feature and all are invited to join in and play along.

  2. Those bunnies hatch all over my parents yard. Then they complain about them getting in the garden for the rest of the year. Gotta admit they’re cute though.

Always wanted to learn to play guitar. Had one when I was in high school, but my stepdad treated it like it was my job to learn to play it so I lost interest. When my ex tried to pick it up, I learned that I caught on to her lessons faster than she did, but that was near the end of our thing, so I never learned more than a cord or three.
Oh..and Ive always wanted to travel more…like, a LOT more. I know some nice folks in Indiana Id like to see someday. 😉

Glad you had a groovy weekend, hopefully your week is just as cool. 🙂

  4. Challah for 150? That’s a boat load of bread! I love making homemade Challah, but haven’t for a while – trying to cut carbs.

      I understand 🙂
She had a thing at school, East Feast — her Challah was a HUGE success. She didn’t come home with any bread, butter, or jam! 🙂

I wanted to be a cinematographer but haven’t done that. I will do that probably this year.

If you get Sadie to open those boxes, please publish your technique. Or, if you can’t get her to open them, maybe you could work on getting her to break them down for the recycle bin.

  12. I really wanted to be an astronaut. I did all my part – except one of my eyes wasn’t good enough, and they had plenty of applicants that year without the problem. I did make it to the finals in Houston for a week, though, and will always treasure getting that close. And it gave me a reason to finish school, which was handy.

Aw, yeah, stupid eye thing. I wish I’d had the math to keep going in genetics, and you with your big science education and application! Didn’t make it to astronaut, but an enviable experience, still!

      • I don’t know how they would have viewed lasik, had it been around – possibly with horror. I’ve had it since, on that eye, and drive without glasses. Sigh.

Back then, I believe the Russians had just started experimenting with radial keratotomy – the little wheel of cutting blades pressed into the cornea. I have lived in interesting times.

This I believe is the key to your future happiness. Pursue this and succeed– then make a YouTube video of how to do it and become fabulously rich because of it. Retire and start riding trains until you get far enough north to see the Northern Lights. See, win-win-win!

I hear you can see the northern lights from northern US states. I’d like to see them up close and personal, but maybe somewhere near Canada would do if I got lucky. If I got really lucky, Norway!

  18. The girlie’s been wanting plant sunflowers. Maybe this will be the year that we actually do it. My yard is so shaded that it makes growing things an issue. On the plus side, it feels like I live in a treehouse in the spring and summer. It sounds like you have a good week in store! 🙂
