#ThursdayDoors — No Doors

Seriously, no doors. At least, no full, honest and true doors. Only the illusion of or absence of doors.

I got, ‘From a distance, this looks like it could be a door’ — but nope, just me watchin a birdie take a bath.

Got a picture of some holes in the side of a building — totally not doors.

Encountered a library station, open to all.

Windows, sure, but no doors.

    I think the open portals count as doors. I’ll give you points for effort, although Thursday Doors points are not mine to give, and No Facilities points might not be redeemable at Norm’s place. Furthermore, if they are redeemable, they are subject to an exchange rate that has not yet been determined. Anyway, I like your post.

    Ooo, I love the library station! I never saw one of those before! I’m sure there were doors at the top of that staircase with the fountain steps. And I long ago declared that doorWAYS count in my book. 🙂

    Reminds me of the time I was tasked with getting a story (when I was a radio reporter) about how people were handling a heat wave in Grand Rapids one summer. I wandered all over downtown with my trusty recorder, but didn’t come across a single soul out in the blazing sun. Kinda the same thing, right?

    Love the stairs fountain and the book nook, – or whatever you call it – oh, and the Colored structure/statue. It looks huge!. You came to a fence – I would call that a door. Thanks for taking us on this outing:):)

    I’m all about the creative solutions – you know, life gives you lemons, you walk left, that sort of thing. Next time you are in the vicinity of that final shot, please do walk right – I’m curious to know if it’s a hydro building. Just a guess.

      Ah, yes, one makes do with what one has :)Other doors must be researched and whatnot.
      I have walked right, but left is prettier. To the right — not a hydro building, not that we call them hydro buildings, we call them power and/or light companies. Anyway, THOSE buildings are the NCAA Hall of Champions (big and with flags) and the Somethin Special about High Schools (small and old.)

    I realize Norm has absolved you and given the go-ahead on your post, but, really c’mon Joey…
    A post with a photo of a furry critter outweighs any potential demerits or loss of points due to lack of doors or anything else you can think of.

    In Oz, we would call this a Clayton’s door post. The door post you have when it isn’t a door post. (It comes from an old commercial for a drink called Clayton’s.)

    Oh this is just such an amazing good essay on ‘Not Doors.’ Love your quirky sense of adventure for this one. The Library Alcove is just the best for me. Have never seen anything like that. A batch of fine photos and commentary; thank you for bringing a smile to my face.

    I still enjoyed your post despite the lack of doors,. That little library shelter was so cute, as were the snowballs! I also was cheered by the multicoloured chequered structure! 🙂

    Love the library and the hummingbird art! The holes in the side of the building give the optical illusion of opened doors. So there’s that. 😉
