Seriously, no doors. At least, no full, honest and true doors. Only the illusion of or absence of doors.
I got, ‘From a distance, this looks like it could be a door’ — but nope, just me watchin a birdie take a bath.
Got a picture of some holes in the side of a building — totally not doors.
Encountered a library station, open to all.
Windows, sure, but no doors.
Lots of points of interest, but not a single door.
Is that a gate?
Yeah, but I snapped the snowballs instead.
Are those doors in the distance?
Yes, but I walked to the left.
#ThursdayDoors is part of an inspired post series run by Norm Frampton. To see ACTUAL doors of interest, or to share your own, click the link.
I think the open portals count as doors. I’ll give you points for effort, although Thursday Doors points are not mine to give, and No Facilities points might not be redeemable at Norm’s place. Furthermore, if they are redeemable, they are subject to an exchange rate that has not yet been determined. Anyway, I like your post.

Thank you. 🙂
I consider you part of the door police, so your approval absolves me. I can’t say I feel shame, just door poverty.
I think three of them count, but it’s a question of propriety for some, I know.

Yes there are 3 that fit the bill. FYI the current exchange rate is one Canadian door = .742 US doors, but if it’s all the same with you, I’ll accept your doors at par 😉

Ooo, I love the library station! I never saw one of those before! I’m sure there were doors at the top of that staircase with the fountain steps. And I long ago declared that doorWAYS count in my book. 🙂

Thank you, Marian 🙂 I agree, of course.

I like the shot of the stepped water stream. Pretty cool. Isn’t a wall a bunch of closed doors?

Way to think outside the box, Benson 🙂 Yes, I tend to agree. In an existential, area outside the curve way, absolutely!

I like them all. Do they have good books in the library dome? That’s really a neat idea.

They do. It’s part of the Indianapolis Public Library. When I passed by that day, there was a couple in there reading Eric Carle’s Brown Bear 😛

How sweet, I do like Eric Carle’s books.

Reminds me of the time I was tasked with getting a story (when I was a radio reporter) about how people were handling a heat wave in Grand Rapids one summer. I wandered all over downtown with my trusty recorder, but didn’t come across a single soul out in the blazing sun. Kinda the same thing, right?

It is. I think the absence of people, due to heat, IS the story. 🙂

And it WAS the story…you’d make a great newsperson.
Enjoyed the ‘non-door’ post, btw. A nice change of pace.

Love the stairs fountain and the book nook, – or whatever you call it – oh, and the Colored structure/statue. It looks huge!. You came to a fence – I would call that a door. Thanks for taking us on this outing:):)

Sometimes it’s good to think outside the door. I love the library station. It has a door WAY.

Sometimes, one just needs a break from doors. However, I did enjoy viewing the different shaped openings. 😉

I’m all about the creative solutions – you know, life gives you lemons, you walk left, that sort of thing. Next time you are in the vicinity of that final shot, please do walk right – I’m curious to know if it’s a hydro building. Just a guess.

Ah, yes, one makes do with what one has :)Other doors must be researched and whatnot.
I have walked right, but left is prettier. To the right — not a hydro building, not that we call them hydro buildings, we call them power and/or light companies. Anyway, THOSE buildings are the NCAA Hall of Champions (big and with flags) and the Somethin Special about High Schools (small and old.)

Even without a door in sight, this was a lovely Thursday Doors post, Joey. That library station is cool, great idea.

Even when it is without doors.

Because we’ve all been there at one time or another, at #ThursdayDoors we do not discriminate against the door-poor.
This was a good, fun, and creative post – you get full points for effort Joey. Well done 🙂

I realize Norm has absolved you and given the go-ahead on your post, but, really c’mon Joey…
A post with a photo of a furry critter outweighs any potential demerits or loss of points due to lack of doors or anything else you can think of.

Ooh! Is that so? I’m glad I snuck that furry critter in! 😀 Thanks!

Whoooa! That last building or-what-is-it with squares… and the water reaching almost to the non-door… and dog in water! And the library!! ❤ More than good enough for me!

In Oz, we would call this a Clayton’s door post. The door post you have when it isn’t a door post. (It comes from an old commercial for a drink called Clayton’s.)
And I love that library spot. Where do I get me one of them?

Groovy.
I dunno, but it’s awesome, yeah? Propose the idea to your library? Ask local artists to offer their talent?

Oh this is just such an amazing good essay on ‘Not Doors.’ Love your quirky sense of adventure for this one. The Library Alcove is just the best for me. Have never seen anything like that. A batch of fine photos and commentary; thank you for bringing a smile to my face.

Love the library and the hummingbird art! The holes in the side of the building give the optical illusion of opened doors. So there’s that. 😉
