Yawning Friday

Oof, this has been a long, long week! Five o’clock mornings got me strung-out like taffy. Such a blur, I’m glad I took pictures.

Lotta fun stuff this week.

The Mister hadda bust out some channel locks to get Moo’s gelato open. Sassy Googled for solutions and there’s a hilarious Reddit thread on the subject. Apparently, this is a sincere first-world problem.

Personally, I opened mine yesterday by turning it upside down on the floor, putting my foot on it, and then using both my hands to break the seal with a butter knife. It is worth the work.

Caught a photo of Chubby Squirrel’s baby eating our bread heel. He’s always getting treats, some he buries, some he takes to the tree. We love watching him nibble.

Fried Green Tomatoes, for the humans.

And lazy day pie, which is more a cobbler, but who am I to argue? Put it in my mouth!

The Mister played with Sassy’s Snapchat. You may remember him from selfies like this?

This shot was a dog filter.

I hope.

Cletus couldn’t resist bathing on the clean shirts I had yet to press.

Have y’all had this? I wanna try the mandarin, but the lime is super yummy. 79¢ a bottle.

It finally got cold. I finally turned on the heat. I’ve finally worn my barn jacket.
It finally looks like low-key fall.

Does this dog make my butt look warm?

A few other happy things to mention:

There’s talk of upperclassmen carpooling underclassmen for the am practices. I promise if that happens I will appreciate 7am in a whole new way. Okay, I may never appreciate 7am, but I will still be grateful it’s not 5am.
Says right here, Libras need to carpool.

Poor, poor Pisces. Tsk. I was sure it’d be a Stingray.

Tonight I have a date with The Mister, Mahler, and Shostakovich! Sposta be chilly and rainy, and I don’t care if The Mister wears tails and a freakin top hat, I’ll be dressin down!

Sunday, I’m meeting Mentor for lunch and I get to pick the place! I should prolly not call her Mentor anymore, cause she’s no longer my mentor, well I dunno, maybe she still is in a way, but we don’t work there anymore… Still, that’s who she is here on the blog, and consistency is important, so we’re all cool with that, right? Right. Mentor. Lunch. Sunday. Woot!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Happy Friday to you as well. I kinda like the “quiet” of early morning. Of course that presuppose that I have gotten my necessary sleep. Cobbler sounds good. Warm cobbler on a cold morning. Mahler and Shostakovich ! Woot. I am just waiting for day light so I can venture forth and stimulate the economy and buy the stuff. Stuff I think I need but probably don’t. Enjoy your date with Mister ( if he does go formal please supply pictures. With a dog filter, please) and your lunch with Mentor.

I did not get my necessary sleep. I am 27/40 hours this week. *yawns*
I have to go out for coffee today or there will be no coffee in the morning. I hope your shopping trip goes well.
I will keep the photo opportunities in mind 😀 Thanks!

Oh, yeah–just call me Mustang Sally! OMG,Joey! I thought I was the only one having trouble opening my Talenti! Not happy you had problems, too–but happy it was not just me. Husband worked up a sweat helping me get my chill on. What the heck! Happy Friday to you.

      I’m a Mustang, too 🙂
I know, isn’t it crazy? I couldn’t believe how many people were complaining of the same problem. The company said IN 2015 that future lids would be easier to open. I guess in 2015, people used saws! :O Good mercy!

  5. I haven’t had the drink or gelato. My gosh what work to get the Gelato open though! I’d probably never get it open.
You had a lovely week in photos! Happy Friday, lunch with the Mentor, and week-end!

Fried Green Tomatoes rule the table. Using tools to open food is frustrating, but making tools is what separates humans from things that went extinct because they didn’t have enough gelato. That lazy pie looks good. I’m glad you followed-up with a photo.

Not a fan of gelato but am a fan of finding ways to get things done. Looking at photos of food are the surest way for me to get motivated to make some. Have a happy weekend.

  14. Sounds like a great weekend, Joey. I think that car/sign thing is definitely off. I’m a Pisces and my favorite cars have been my ’75 VW Super Beetle and either of my Toyota Sienna vans. My husband said when we were thinking of getting a new car for me, that we could get something smaller with better mileage. But I loved my van, so we now have a second one and it’s just grand.

Enjoy your outing with whichever Mister shows up and your lunch. 🙂

Talenti pistachio rocks… how’d’ya make your fried green tomatoes? I’ve a few waiting patiently for me to slice and fried-green ’em…

  17. Yep, you are Ocean deprived, but you have major culture. Enjoy your weekend.
I hope the upperclassmen are safe drivers.

  18. I missed your Friday post…why so early ??? Love those “jaws of death” usage on Talenti. And I’m not sure which made me happier, the fried green or the pie/cobbler. Nice pics. I’m a Sag. and once drove a Mustang, turbo-charged, testosterone car. I couldn’t wait to get rid of it, traded it for an old lady Oldsmobile when we had the first baby.

Thanks! I prefer the savory to the sweet, but for such little prep, that cobbler can’t be beat! 😛
I’m not a muscle car person, either, Van. I prefer compact cars. But oh, that meme cracked me up!
So early, for months and months, because Sassy is swimming now and practice is insanely early. She loves it and so I love it for her, but I still hate 5am.
I dunno how you missed Friday, but better late than never 🙂

  20. Mmmm… makes me want gelato and fried green tomatoes. The hubby and I frequent a restaurant here that makes a yummy BLT where the the T is a fried green tomato. Big Mister came in while I was reading your post. He didn’t know his sign. He said he better be a Gemini. He’s a Pisces. Poor, poor Pisces. 🙂

  21. Can I stop by for the fried green tomatoes and cobbler, please? I had to look for the type of car a Scorpio girl should drive. Not too shabby 🙂
But I didn’t have to check for Shostakovich. Love the guy 🙂
