Which, witch and what now? *looks at the prompt again* Wich. Well I didn’t even know that was a word. Thanks, Linda. I’ve learned three new words today, which makes me happy, although I am already happy because I am so spoiled, er, I mean, cherished, and also sleeplessness adds a bit of that euphoria.
When ordering coffee in the evening, IT IS CRUCIAL TO REMEMBER TALL DECAF CARAMEL MACCHIATO. Can you tell which word is most important? See, what happened was, I was too tired to remember to order properly. oh, hello 3am, i haven’t seen you in a long time. how’ve you been? dull? yes.
Hey, at least I remembered to buy beans while I was there.
The Mister took Sassy to the thing this morning and I didn’t have to get up until 9 to go pick her up, by which time, The Mister had already gone to the grocery store and made the GOOD coffee. He remembered I was out of Rice Krispies even though I didn’t, which marks a very special time in our marriage.
Yesterday he told me it’s my job to remember all the things and if I don’t remember all the things then neither of us will ever know anything.
I haven’t had enough sleep this week, so I’m sorry if I can’t remember which street the parking garage is on, Market or Pennsylvania.
“Just drive down Pennsylvania, it’ll be on the right. Oh look, it’s on the corner of Market and Penn!”
I didn’t remember who the third composer was, or which country the violinist is from, or which Bach concerto he played.
I don’t remember which composers committed suicide. Did I ever even know that???
I don’t remember which conductor The Mister preferred, although I remember his face.
Yes, those are just a few of the things my husband expected me to remember last night.
I can’t remember that which he expected me to remember yesterday during the day at the time we had the conversation about how I have to remember all the things.
Mind like a steel trap, needs oil in the form of sleep.
As I put my eggs in the tortillas, I saw there were only a few left and so I asked Moo, “Didja eat already?” and OH HOW SHE LAUGHED!
“Mama!”
“What?!?”
“You just asked me if I ate, and then if I ate enough and I told you yes both times!”
“Oh. I totally don’t remember that.”
does that mean i didn’t ask sassy if she ate?
I walked around the corner to peek on Sassy, who was eating. Right.
I contend the present time is the best in which to nap.
With any luck, when I wake up I will remember which kid goes where at which time, and to take the roast out of the oven before I leave. And to turn off the oven. And to pass out monies.
See, how can I even be me and not have anxiety disorder? Which Joey would that be? Why, she’d be locked out of her house while it burns down, probably without shoes or a phone, while her kids are abandoned elsewhere, crying because she forgot them.
Stream of Consciousness Saturday — SoCS ‘which/witch/wich’ is brought to you by LindaGHill
Oh my! Are you actually driving while not under the influence of sleep? Did YOU eat? I think it’s time for the MIster to remember to tell you to sleep and then you’ll remember all of the things he needs you to remember. Unless you are asleep at that moment, then all bets are off.

Well hell, if I didn’t drive while tired, I’da been unable to drive for most of the last 25 years! I DID eat. Thank you for checking 🙂

hehe, at least I remembered! I can’t even tell you what I had for breakfast, so I’m not so far removed from current predicament!

Oh mmhm, you should nap a bit, too? 🙂

Please take naps if you can. After years of practice, an eye mask and earplugs, I can fall asleep even on airplanes. A half hour i something I use as a restorative, 3-5 times a day.
Of course, I’m ill, but it doesn’t mean that’s not a useful skill.

I think I’d have to be sedated to sleep on a plane! I’m not afraid, just ill-at-ease and always HOT! I do have a sleep mask, which I seldom use. I do wear earplugs, yes ma’am! I am a good napper, but nothing beats a good night’s sleep! 🙂

Many things can be learned. Sleeping on a plane may be one of them. If I’m ever on a plane, it’s free time when nothing else is required. So out we go. (Not literally.)

I am right there with ya. This week has been dreamless because it has also been sleepless. And not like the good Sleepless in Seattle true love kind of way either. I usually do not forget because I am the women of a thousand lists but this week I missed an appointment. The text of hey it’s 1:20, I have you down for 1:00 put me in a tizzy. Anyhoo, I ramble but all you have written is so relatable. You could be me!!!! Or I could be you!!!!

Terrible to be so well understood. I, too, am a woman of lists 🙂 My condolences. I hope we both have MUCH more restful weeks ahead!

I’ll sleep well AND LONG tonight and tomorrow I will feel human again!

I’d never heard of “wich”, wither. I wish I could gift you with 8-10 hours of sleep, but I’ lucky if I get to 7, so I have none to spare. Not being a coffee drinker, I understand the caffeine effect you mention. At work last Sunday evening, the barista offered a coffee drink which I thought was decaf. Fortunately, one of my co-workers had heard him say it wasn’t, so I escaped being up all night and had a great cold drink the next day. Felt the caffeine from it all day. 🙂

Oh yes, I feel caffeine somethin fierce. I use it sparingly, and NEVER past 3pm. Phew!
Seven hours can get me by if I have them consistently, but oh I bet I sleep more like 10 tonight. Here’s hoping you get a bit of savings in your sleep bank as well!

I could use it. 🙂 I don’t drink caffeine after 3, either, but since I’m a tea drinker, coffee drinks have LOTS of caffeine for me.

Flip-turn, I did that a lot in the pool today. I have not turn-flipped. That’s a whole ‘nother thing.
Once again, I love putting my finger on the Mic and having Google find things.
It didn’t help with today’s crossword, but flipping to the answer page was quite useful.
No, I didn’t cheat, but I finally finished a crossword. 😂😉

I read about claw-backs re: health insurance and pharmacies on another blog today. Never knew that’s what it was called.
Sassy mastered her flip-turn and did 100 meters in 56 seconds, tying her with the team captain. All I can say about that is that I’m proud and gee, I swim slow, haha!

What ! I am still under the influence of my Prednisone. Sleep is merely a memory of ” better times”. I use ear plugs and head phones and still can not friggin’ Sleep. I am abnormally “productive” but I just can not sleep. I think I can relate to your situation. I just don’r know. Hell I can’t even find my Decaff K cups. A nice cuppa with Brandy wouldn’t hurt. I am really glad I discover you and your “words”. They do mean a lot to me. Always remember to eat. I ate some pork and apples and some Pat made kraut tonight. Pat is German; don’t you know. It was pretty good stuff. So it is 8 PM. I think this whole sleep thing is BS. Have a Good Whatever. Day- Morning-Evening- Whatever. How was your Concert?

Thank you for saying my words mean a lot to you, I appreciate that ❤

Well actually Mr. Pat is American made of German ancestry. His eldest daughter and her Welsh hubby have liked in Germany for several years now. When Pat and Fran visited them this year I set for their cat, Claude. They live in the burbs across from a creek and the quiet is spooky but I was able to explore new turf. Have a good weekend.

Earlier in the day I’d asked The Mister if he wanted to pick up some coffee on his way home or if we should stop after the concert — otherwise, we’d have no coffee for the morning. I remembered while we were at Starbucks.

Hope you enjoyed your date night even if there were parts you couldn’t remember. I make lists if it is very important that I remember completely. I do have to do a fair share of remembering for my hubby since he has a memory like a sieve. Your interaction with Moo about breakfast is a typical one with him. It actually scares me sometimes and is quite frustrating at others. If I get like that we are in a world of trouble. Sorry about your sleep issues. I sleep like a rock so lack of sleep can’t ever be my excuse for anything. Happy Sunday!

I don’t remember anymore. At least not like I used to. I used to pride myself on being the “answer lady.” People came to me for direction and assistance and it did my ego good. Until I got tired of people not thinking for themselves. Then I got cranky. Now I’m menopausal and I couldn’t remember the details even if I wanted to. Factor in insomnia? Pft. Good luck.

Yes. Relatable. I do hope I hold on to my memory, what with sleep and all, at least for my own benefit…
I kinda felt that way about the parking garage bit. I literally said, “You’ve been here the exact same number of times I have.”

I love naps! I’m forever telling #1 Grandson who hasn’t napped in nearly two years, “Grandma, needs just 5 minutes”. He always says, “NO!” I catch myself dozing while he’s playing or watching his afternoon favorite show. Dozing isn’t cuttin it. A real nap is required. 10-20 minutes. Much more than that I’m out for an hour or more then groggy all the rest of the day.
I sure hope you get a good nap today! I’m planning on one. 🙂

Half my kids were good about naps. The boy didn’t nap, but he understood rest with a book or a show. Moo was one of those kids who didn’t sleep well and then crashed in the middle of her own chaos. 😦 LOL But she is probably the best sleeper in the house now — trotting off to bed earliest most nights.
I hope you get a pleasant nap, Deborah. Sunday naps are a certain kind of sweet 🙂

I’m sure you will adjust and adapt, as I’m sure I will — (I’ve already begun waking minutes before 5, no joke) and maybe we’ll both have wonderful weeks and wonderful sleeps ahead 😀

By the way, Googling ‘circle city’ leads you down various options. You are either near Indianapolis, Circle, Alaska, or take part in a football rivalry between two colleges in Indianapolis. I will now hope, for your sake, it isn’t in Alaska, as cold as this winter is turning out to be!
