#ThursdayDoors — Lucas Oil Stadium

Behemoth thing.

Where the Colts play.
Or don’t.
Whatever.

Lest you get all riled up, let me assure you, I couldn’t care less about football.

Things I Care About More Than Football:

10. The celestially-inspired travel patterns of dung beetles
9. The ongoing saga of my neighbor’s knee injury
8. Who the people on magazine covers are
7. Pokemon
6. The Dow
5. Who’s dead on which NCIS program
4. Horsepower
3. Anyone’s cover album
2. Sunrises
1. How my mother-in-law thinks things should be done

Well I could probably list hundreds, but for the sake of time, basically everything but math and hot weather go above football, okay?

Now that we’ve got that outta the way, here are the doors, or rather, gates.

How would you like to wash all that glass? I have never been in the place. I was in the old one once. For a concert.

I wouldn’t like to wash that glass. Don’t much care for how all the ‘new’ sport venues in our city have the same architectural concepts and always, always so much glass. :/
I haven’t been in there, either. I had, as you said, been to the Hoosier Dome, and MSA… oh MSA. :/

Good that you threw that warning out there quickly, I was all fired up from the title in my inbox. “Oooh Joey’s writing about football – yay!” I should have known better. Pretty doors. I love top photo, with just a little bit of cloud reflecting. Pretty perfect.

Still, “Horsepower” but not math? Making sad face over here in CT.

  3. Yup. Same here. Pass on the football. No pun (or punt) intended.
    Well, maybe a little.

I don’t even understand football, so I am good with this post, Joey.

  6. So appropriate that Lucas Oil is that sponsor, very Indy ! Very modern stadium. Great doors. I love so many sports, grew up in a town that revered football, basketball… lots of state champion teams. Listened to baseball games on the radio, next door neighbor was an umpire. Dad was a great golfer, we spent time collecting golf balls that ended up in the woods around the courses. Hotel sponsored Lucas Oil Nationals every fall, got to meet so many drivers. Family is into ice hockey at all levels. So yeah…sports. Except boxing, wrestling, and whatever you call that stuff where they push a broom across the ice ???

It’s a nice stadium from what I hear. I realize that football isn’t for everyone and that’s just fine. The world would be a boring place if everyone liked exactly the same things.

I join you on the not caring about football. I do like the Cowboys but mostly because of the uniform and they have had some pretty good looking quarterbacks. I want whoever my husband has bet on to win. Baseball is my game. Would not want to wash all that glass. Nice pictures!

Great photos! Are we talking about American football here, or the proper sort of football played in UK that you guys over the pond call ‘soccer’? Sorry for my ignorance but I’m one of those weirdos from the UK…..

One of my daughters got me into football when she was into football because her boyfriend was into football. Now he, and football, are things of the past, but I still have some football-interest hangover. And I always root for Chicago because Chicago, and for the Colts because my favorite FICTIONAL DETECTIVE roots for the Colts. Lame or cool? You be the judge. Love the doors/windows/gates!

I DID like football, until I dated someone obsessed with it. Bleh.
Fictional detective, well that’s a new one on me! 😛 It’s neither lame nor cool, it’s just you 😀

    bwahahahaha!!!

Since we’re on the subject of team sports, I’d like to toss hockey in that basket with football.

Math is sadness. I figure that because in the Bible I’m told that God is the word. God is love. Ergo, math which the opposite of words, is not love. Perfectly logical. Nice doors, too.

  15. I like football, but I prefer watching from the comfort of home. I like seeing the stadium without all the people there. 🙂

OMG, I laughed hysterically at #5. Had the NCIS repeats on last night and caught the one where Jenny Shepard was killed. That just made me mad, again, that Mike Franks and Ziva were eventually killed off.

Nice doors if you’re a Colts fan. There are much better stadium doors in Green Bay 😉

  18. There’s a whole lot more that I care about than football too. Having your company on that score means I’m in the best company!
I love the reflection in the door windows.

  19. Lol! I did not grow up in a football family. Or really sports at all. The hubby played in high school and enjoys watching it. I root for the team that has the best mascot or uniform colors…or if I like the state. However, I did go to high school with Edgerrin James (he’s a year younger than me, so I think 2 grades behind) and while I doubt he knew who I was, everyone knew who he was… so I do have some admiration for the Colts… plus horseshoes are good luck! 😉
I love the reflections on the doors!

  21. LOL; if football can’t beat your #10 (dung beetles) then its off the charts! Nice find and post, as usual!

really laughed with your list – omg – and im just going to bed and now might be wide wake – but who cares – cos the smile as worth it.
    the mother-n-law views bahhhhhh

and well, I kind of could care less too. I know stuff – and might know stats and players at times – but I can leave the room when there is a tie and only one minute left.
I also heard someone say that this is a form of worship – we worship teams in their huge stadiums…
oh and I have a short memory with some NFL stuff – and seriously I do not apologize for it.
