The Least Sensible Thing You’ll Read Today

***Apart from the news, anyway.

I can’t finish a blog post to save my life.
I wish y’all could peruse my beginnings and be like, “I’ll have that one, please.”
One day I’ll finish them, I really will.

Today I’ll just tell you random tidbit things. The sort of things that aren’t really worthy of a blog post.
Of course, that’s sorta my thing, isn’t it? To take a thing and analyze it and enhance it and make it into a thing big enough for a whole blog.

Sometimes this works backwards.

I have three daughters, but they’re each about three different people, which is like having nine daughters, but with fewer shoes. It reminds me of the faces we put on to meet the faces, which I have an unfinished post about and I never can remember that line unless I start from the very beginning of the poem and I don’t have time for that, either.

We’re all every woman, it’s all in us, we do it naturally. Or with great training and practice.

My sweater is scratchy. Someone else washed this sweater, and I’m pretty sure they just slapped it up to dry right out of the washer. If I had time, I do believe I could stand this sweater up without me like a centerpiece on the coffee table.
I am thankful someone else washed it, and that I have it to wear, because when I looked at the weather this morning, it was in the teens. Yay, scratchy blue sweater.

I am the lady in blue today. Got my blue scarf, my blue jeans, and I’m wearin blue suede shoes, even though I’m not an Elvis person, I’m a Beatles person — C’mon, blue suede shoes are divine.

I also keep tryin to type begininng. Don’t ask me why. I like to rememeber and Speptember too, so maybe it’s a B thing. B is for yellow jackets, right? No yellow jackets now. Too cold. Thank tacos.

So, how are you? You follow? You dig? You smile cause it’s Friday now. I shall sing One Day More from Les Mis “One more dawn! One more day! One day moooore!” as I head out into the world, for tomorrow, I LOUNGE like a lizard. And finish blogs.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Trump is speaking in our downtown tonight. Two blocks from where our company Christmas party is to be held. All roads blocked off. We have to enter through the back way. Company badge and drivers license in hand. And his is speaking on behalf of that jackass in AL. Why did he not just go to AL and speak? This too shall pass. Happy Friday, Joey! I need blue suede shoes…

You definitely need blue suede shoes!
So, how’d it go? Did you enjoy your party despite the orange fuckface in the vicinity?

Oh, when I said ‘we’ I didn’t mean ‘me.’ I don’t go to those things. I see everyone at work. No need for me to get gussied up to make small talk. No thank you! And don’t you know he was on every damn channel last night. We turned off the TV. Only to be greeted by his face on the front page of the local newspaper. Dang!

          Mercy. Ubiquitous ick.
Well I’m glad it didn’t affect you and you got to avoid the gussy and the small talk. I never worked where we had an after hours holiday party — usually just a catered lunch hour or a pitch-in. Do prefer.

We only had one daughter, but I think we had the shoes you were looking for. One more day, but company holiday party tonight (mix of joy and dread).

  5. Thank goodness for less shoes! I think of blog posts all the time, but am too often not where I can write them down and so they go unwritten. I have a notebook full of ideas, most of which I’ve used, so I guess I should start using that again. As for Saturday, I wish I were going to have the entire day off. I wasn’t scheduled to work, but someone had a family reunion and I just couldn’t say no (and there was no one else to work for her.) Sigh. Of course, I’m getting rich from all this part time work (cough, cough) so it’s worth it, right? 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend, Joey. I’ve been thinking of stopping blogging during the time our girls are home because with them home, Christmas coming, work, etc., I don’t know if I want to try to take time to squeeze in blogging. Doing a post isn’t the problem, but trying to keep up with everyone else it. We’ll see.

Yep, talk about all over the place. I have two daughters but it was my son who had the most shoes and coordinating shirts and hats. Blogging…I have lots of ideas too but I find I need some structure, like with my December Reflections posts so my plan is to get more organized and plan out my months in advance. A to Z is coming soon and I actually have a lot of the letters accounted for. Wish me luck.

  8. I had three daughters. I understand about shoes – and purses, and nail polish, lip gloss, etc. etc.

I loved this post. It’s amazing sometimes how well bloggers can weave sentences together when we truly feel we have absolutely no ideas to start with, or have starting ideas but can’t figure out what to do with them. I have a whole bunch of posts that I’ve started, and some I even have photos for, but for whatever reason just can’t seem to flesh them out enough to make an adequate post. You did an awesome job.

You smile cuz its Friday, I smile cuz all Fridays are the same….or someshit.

    Yea, i dig.
Happened yesterday that I noticed ma put the cat condo in the kitchen (Its 6ft high and 3ft around) on MONDAY.
All week long I been stepping off things short leg first. Cuz thats only been 8 years in the making..
Cant. Remember. Shit. Though last night I described the area around the Allen-Bradley clock tower back home in high detail.

    And so much more.
The natives are restless, I think. Everyone knows its THAT time of year, yet no one pays attention.
    Whatever.

Happy weekend Joey, hope its pretty great. 🙂

We are definitely enjoying/ enduring the same sorta brain waves right now! I’m well aware it’s THAT time of year, but like most years, I’m like “Ooh, twinkly lights” and not much about the rest of it.
I noticed a whole new building across the street today. We none of us have ever seen it, and yet, there it is. Musta been built in the summer when we couldn’t see for the trees. Story of my life, can’t see for the trees 😉
Weekend’s marvelous, hope yours is too! x

My favorite shoes in high school were my blue suede shoes which were almost sorta ankle boots. But I would think 3 girls who are 3 people each would have about 90 pairs of shoes. That would be 10 pairs each. I had one daughter and there were gym shoes, flipflops, heels, prom heels, drugstore tennies, suede fringed boots, white go go boots, 3 more pair of old flipflops, the Vans, and then don’t forget the ballet shoes, pointe shoes, jazz shoes, and tap shoes.

Totally relate to the shoes. Totally. I wouldn’t dare to count. I bet I’ve got about 30 pair, and Moo has more than I do, but I think Sassy has fewer. Also, now that I think about it, she sorta retires her shoes and then won’t pass them on or donate them. What’s that about?
And why do we all want more shoes? Why shoes? I wonder if anyone actually knows why…
My blue suede shoes are like bucks. Look great with jeans, warm and comfy. Definitely nice in these cold days 🙂

Happy Weekend Indeed! Was that an Elvis Costello reference, or something further from my repertoire?
The blue suede shoes also come in a crushed cranberry, which are rather smashing, (as are the violet) but I literally own ONE red clothes, and I only wear it this time of year. Now, in the summer, I have a pair of red patent leather thongs, and they work hard with navy and white 🙂

I am glad you added that *** in the beginning. Bits and pieces are nice. I think that finishing can be over rated. I can not begin to fathom what it would mean to have daughters. Granddaughters are enough to make me scratch my head. I would like to say “Yae Friday” but I can’t. I wasn’t sure what day it was until I plucked this out of my e mail. I like yellow clothing. I don’t like yellow flying critters. I also like clothes in blue. I wear a lot of blue. I also like colorful foot wear. Shoes and socks. Now back to Friday. Have a Happy one. And enjoy your weekend.

It’s a great weekend here, and I hope yours is too.
I wear a lot of blue. A lot. I’d like to wear more pink, but it’s not trending in clothes right now, which I don’t understand since rose gold is all the rage in accessories. But no one asked me… I have to be careful of yellows, but I do have a great yellow coat. It’s like putting on happiness!
I feel about boys the way you feel about girls. Thankful my husband is/was/will always be a boy 😛

We are definitely in the same head space. Or, put another way:

Head space we share tangentially if alternate universe rules apply.

[And, apparently, I can’t type the word ‘apply’ without getting it three-ways wrong. Aply, appley, alpey.]

You defined my sentiments aptly. Random is sometimes what’s available. Sometimes it’s like a bad poker hand, and sometimes it’s poetry. Most times, it’s a bit of both 🙂

  16. Your bits and bobs thoughts made for a wonderful, and entertaining post.

I’ve had so many starts on posting an image and begun the write up and for one reason or another hit the delete key. This year I’ve been pretty uninspired with writing and have been happy with Wordless Wednesdays. I’m mulling around what I’m going to do next year, but haven’t figured out, and am not that motivated, so may just relax and post whatever comes to mind. 🙂

I hope you had a fabulous Friday, and your week-end is great too.

Thanks so much! It’s nice to go with the flow. I’ve been so terribly busy, I can’t flow, I have to gooooo, no flow! See, I think the key may be, as you wrote, to relax and go with the flow.
Your images are always wonderful. You could probably write poorly and still we’d be all, “Ooh, Ahh!” lol Of course, I hope to read more of you as well, but the photos are amazing.

The fact that I’m here a day late and many dollars short, may tell you that I’ve been struggling to find the time to really write. I mean not the short rhyming stuff or the One-Liner Wednesday, but to really write a post about mom or life or something. So, I follow and dig. And I love your bits of this and that, but not scratchy sweaters. I want warm, soft, fuzzy sweaters. Kind of like the one I’m wearing now while trying to catch up with everyone so no one thinks I’m a blogging snob. Have an awesome Saturday, Joey.

Then we are in the same place. Even I THOUGHT I’d take it easy today, but alas, I forgot other people’s activities would affect me.. So, up early and lots of go before noon. Then The Mister announced the Army Navy game would be on at 3 and he recorded it, so now, tea, blanket, laptop! Woot!
I hope you get some blog time in, Mary. I feel like it’s crucial to my well-being. Right up there with exercise and sleep!

I have basically sat on my behind, knit and watched a series called The Crown. At this point I am all crowned out. LOL It’s snowing like a dilly here so IF I get motivated I’ll be having some snow pics up on my blog. The way I’m going, I just don’t wanna. Maybe just my cellphone and not my Canon. It’s not easy lugging that equipment around and exposing my fingers and stand in COLD snow. I think I need to turn my full spectrum light on. I can feel the “blues” coming on …. (((HUGS))), Joey!

How many seasons are there? I just started the second one and I AM HOOKED! The blues very much related this being the first Christmas without my Mom. Yep. That’s a tough one! What I would do to hear her voice just one more time and to really talk to her. I think I’m the only one who took the time to really talk to her, Joey. I miss her just so damned much! OUCH!

  19. Often my blog thoughts come in bits and pieces…sometimes in the shower or in those insomnia moments when it’s really the next day, but still feels like the night before. I never remember to write them down. Miss Sunshine and I both like shoes. I think my boys might like shoes too, but not as much as me. 🙂 Hope you had a great weekend!
