Goin back on a Tuesday should be nice, but Tuesdays are worse than Mondays for me. Knowing how Mondays are, you’d think you could expect more from Tuesdays, but no.

Last Tuesday could have won an award for how horrible it was, but it was too cold and the doors to the award center were frozen shut.

I will take responsibility for the very first part of what went wrong, being that the ‘snow’ was really more of an ‘ice’ which clung to my wipers and my roof and thus it took me longer to clean my car off than I would have thought. This is really no big deal since I leave early, always with time to spare, but it did make for rather wet ankles and wrists.

At work, my co-worker never showed up.
“Yes, co-worker, do bail without warning, I’d love to run the office entirely on my own, thank you.”

(I’ve seen my car this morning and she’s no longer my co-worker, so I know at the least, neither of those things will happen on this Tuesday.)

I’d also accidentally taken The Mister’s lunch. Sammich thick with ham and green grapes on the side instead of black. That’s my fault, too, but I think Tuesday made me put his lunch in the wrong box. It certainly wasn’t Day-After-Christmas brain.

I can’t recall what else happened, but a series of traffic issues wherein I thought I heard the universe laughing at me, or maybe it was Buddha, for they were surely big belly laughs. During my drive home I surrendered and decided ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME!? was no longer a viable possibility.

I do remember one of the last things I did before going home was to pump gas when it was -5 and how it was important I do that, as the days following were to be even colder. I spoke to a nice man at the pump beside me. I was jealous he wore a hat; he was jealous I wore gloves. We decided the following day, we’d both wear both.

It’s now -8 but I see we’re going to get up to 14 today, so that’s good. If it’s all the same to the universe, even though I’ll wear a hat and gloves today, I’ll wait to fuel up tomorrow, as it will be a most agreeable 20.

Yes, it’s hat and gloves weather. Although, I never wear gloves at the gas pump ‘cuz once when I was 17, I spilled some gas on a glove and the smell. But hat – yes hat. I think the universe wanted you to know that jobs would be better without coworkers on many days.

I hope you have a better Tuesday. I was going to say “week”, but let’s take it one day at a time.

I hate the Fn COLD. You say it is supposed to be in the 20s tomorrow? Well my gas tank can wait until then. I always wear a hat and gloves when it is below freezing. Fragile gent that I am. I love thick ham sandwiches. The fact that your co-worker is now ex have anything to do with the missing day? Today I go no where. Anything I can do can be done on line or on phone. So take that Fn COLD. Have a great week.

Yes, no call no show. :/ Got a new guy. Hope he’s reliable.
Yeah, up to 20 tomorrow! Gonna hit the 30’s this weekend. But, more snow, it says. The Mister put gas in my car today, thank tacos! I hope you can stay in lots, since you hate the fuckin cold.

  5. It’s well below freezing. I can’t walk, but I will have to check my tires, and probably put air in at least one of them, to drive the hubby to the eye doctor. He’s supposed to keep his head in the same position as it would be if he were lying on his left side (which he is also supposed to be doing). Hard to drive that way. So the chronically ill person drives the postop one to the doctor. At least I can. There will be extra naps, and maybe not much writing today.

    At least I still can.

I wanted to be out of here a long time ago. It would have made all this much easier on both of us.

Laugh, and the world laughs with you.

Oh my goodness, that is a TASK! I hope things went okay?
I do wish you were out of that house/area/climate already. Next year? God willin and the creek don’t rise?

      • Tire WAS flat. I had to use the other car. One thing a day – and that thing was taking him to the doctor. Then I had to deal with my assistant who was here for 3 hours after not coming for a week – she’s good, but I need to direct her to what we need.

And before that, I took a shower, and dried my hair because of the cold. Huge tasks took all today’s energy.

Oh, and I wrote a blog post about editing. No wonder I’m tired!

I went outside somewhere yesterday morning very early and to my shock I saw people with no hats on. Here it is -10 degrees and these people are walking without hats on? Oh my goodness! Cheer up you are not alone in this coldness bit. I am about climbing the walls because I have not been able to get out into my forests due to this frigid frigid weather. And don’t worry Tuesday will be over before you know it. And then you just have Wednesday! Oh for the joy! Have a good one, Joey! 😘

I appreciate your concern for the heads of humanity, Amy. I tend to avoid the hat on the way to work. It’s feet to the car, feet to the office, and then those same few feet back. BUT when I’m pumpin gas, a hat would be MUCH smarter!
Wednesday will be great, I’m sure!

Today was chemo Tuesday so I get to work from home. I feel like such a whiner telling you that at 22 degrees this morning, I was freezing. No idea how one functions in -5 temps. Oh yes, kudos to the co-worker…..

Well you know, it’s relative. 22 is cold, to be sure, below freezing! Plenty of people colder than Indy was today. My parents think 40 is arctic 😉
Chemo Tuesday can go either way I suppose — good we have chemo, sucky we need it.
      *hugs*

I agree – Tuesdays are the worse…. It rarely gets below 30 degrees here but I always have to wear a hat to feel warm.

We are still in abnormal mode because the kids don’t go back to school until tomorrow. It isn’t quite as cold here, but it’s more than cold enough. A big yes to hats and gloves!!

I can’t imagine until the 9th!! They are making a shift to our school calendar next year, meaning an extra short summer this year.
I hope you stay warm and happy too! 🙂

  13. 14 sounds quite nice and 20 almost beyond belief. I’m looking forward to the day when temperatures are above zero (even with wind chill ) for the entire day. What bliss!! I have to work evenings the next week or so (not every one, but instead of my usual days) and it’s mentally so much colder when it’s dark. Of course when it’s below zero, it’s just cold!! 🙂

Haha! Yeah, I’m sure 20 would be like a heat wave for you. We’re really looking forward to it 🙂 And yes, you’re right, it seems SO much colder in the dark — and of course, it often is to a few degrees. Stay warm, Janet 🙂

  16. I won’t complain about the cold, I usually welcome it. But now, there’s a dog to walk, and I can’t take a pass on the worst of days. So, I layer up. At least it’s not 90 degrees and humid ?? You do seem to have a “thing” about Tuesdays…hang in there !

love that photo with the blue-ish hue and trees with different tracks/paths in the snow – says so much on its own and fit the post.
and I hate getting gas in such frigid cold – and before the firgid air fully came -(it was just regular winter) we went to see this festival of lights things (someone gifted us tickets) and we did not have gloves or a hat and we (three of us) were all like – really? what the heck we were thinking? ha
and I have not heard the term “Day-After-Christmas brain.”
but I am certainly feeling the “week after the holidays decompression mode”
