You know when not working is better than working?
When it does this:
School is closed.
Sleet is hitting the windows.
My street is white again.
When he arrived safely, The Mister let me know it had been slick and hard to see the lanes.
I normally take secondary roads to work, but I reckon I’ll take the interstate today. I am afeart, (Yes, it’s a word, I just said it didn’t I?) I’m sure I’d be fine if absolutely no one else drove while I did, but people are … well, you know.
I will be talking to the angels.
I will also be wearing sneakers.

You have every reason to be afeart. Ice and snow don’t mix with black top. I almost feel guilty that all I have to do today is decide to get dressed or not and if I want some Brandy in my second cup of Decaf. I know that is mean;sorry. Have a great Friday and a safe return trip home.

I was allowed to skip lunch and leave early today! We are about the same level of storm warnings here in Ohio, I think. I am so glad you made it to work, safe and sound, Joey! Hope a safe return to home and get those jammies on, warm beverage and feet up snuggling on the sofa. . . cat, kid or hubby there, too. ❤

Thank you! Yes, it was a good evening, nice and warm and snuggly. I’m glad you got to leave early. The Mister got to leave at 3, and I was terrible jealous, but then when I drove it was actually better than the morning had been.

I would NOT do well driving in weather like that. Glad to hear you made it safely. We had to check the roads a few nights ago since our driveway was icy and one of the teens had to work late. Luckily, the main roads were fine and he made it home safely. We’re expecting snow on Wednesday. The kids have no school on Monday or Tuesday because of school calendar, but I’m wondering whether or not they’ll end up cancelling on Wednesday!

I was going to quote Caliban from The Tempest but he uses ‘afeard’ rather than ‘afeart’. Glad you made it. I had to laugh at your forecast because it looks just like mine except I don’t have snow and sleet and my temperatures are in Celsius.

That’s rather toasty! I like to top out around 16C. Sleet, I can do without, although, the icicles are pretty 🙂 (Best observed from home, obvs!)

I hunkered down today and stayed indoors. I think I’ll stay here for the next 2 days. I’m afeart too … tt’s just not friendly out there!

I was thinking of you last night as I was deep into the latest novel by John Green, a native from Indiana and seems to live again in Indianapolis after being in New York City for a while. The novel is set in Indianapolis and it’s wonderful. Check it out, although it’s for teenagers, it’s wonderful.

Fault in Our Stars was set here as well. I want to read the new one, because anxiety, but will wait on the library, as his books are so short, I can’t bear to buy them.

Several of his books were in fact. This one is one the best. It taps into a topic very close to home, so it brings out a load of feelings. Agree with you on the cost, but I can never resist:)

My grandma used to say “afeart” too.
Looks like that white stuff is heading our way. There’s talks of getting anywhere from a trace amount to an inch. Not sure how an inch isn’t really a trace amount, but okay.
