Knot-Not! Hoot’s There?

Me. Sometimes I feel pressure to create a Friday post that elicits plenty of smiles and I’m just like, oof, not inspired.

I’m processing.
I think the introverts can agree that during processing, it’s not likely one will draft anything smiley.

I have 67 drafts in WordPress. None of them are right for today.

Am I writing? Absolutely.
Am I blogging? Erm…

Spring break couldn’t have come at a better time!

I’ve decided photos are the way to go.
These small things made me smile. Let’s see if they work for you.

So a bear, a sloth, and an owl walk into a fence…
Or a Shar-Pei, an ostrich, and an owl walk into a fence…
It can be whatever you want!

Happy Friday Everyone!

How about: bear, a sloth, and an owl walk into a bar. The bartender says…I got nothin’, but it was heading in the general direction of a smile. OK, it’s lunch time and I’m bored so I looked this up: Here you go, two out of three:

A bear walks into a bar and says to the bartender, “I’ll have a pint of beer and a………. packet of peanuts.”

The bartender asks, “Why the big pause?”

A sloth walks into a bar. Two hours later later, bartender says “Sorry we’re closed.”

I like your fence faces – have a wonderful weekend.

  2. I have a bunch of drafts, too, but not the photos. Those are cool. M T McGuire, on her blog (https://mtmcguire.co.uk/) occasionally posts eyebombing photos (where she places little plastic googly eyes on inanimate objects to make them look… humanoid). Those make you smile, too – like yours, the eyes have it.

  5. They work for me. I often see things in wood grain, spackeling, clouds, etc.

I like your photos. Fridays can be a tricky day to post on a blog, but I’m glad to see that you’ve knot let that stop you. 😉

Haha! I like to bring the weekend in with a cheerful post, I really do. But today is more like coffee, computer, and leftovers in front of the tv. Sassy’s asleep here with the dog, I think Moo’s asleep too, and we’re all still in our pajamas. We’re clearly seeing it as a break! Maybe the cheer will hit me tomorrow.

OOOOOOHHHH! We could resurrect the good old days of the National Enquirer when they would see Elvis’ face in a peanut butter sandwich or Jesus in the puddle sheen at a gas station. Fence faces!

The bottom one definitely looks like an owl. The middle one is surprise and the top one looks to me like hands making the heart. All make me smile, so you did your job for the day! Happy Friday, Joey!

  9. Ooo, cool. The sloth is well pinpointed. The owl is obviously an owl, and the first is surely some kind of a smiling, happy dog. Great find! I wish you a great weekend to go along with it.

  10. Love it. I will never look at our fence the same again. 🙂 How the heck do you have so many drafts? WOW, I’m impressed. I have none. My mind is becoming unreliable to remember ideas. Really need to carry around a notepad. lol Happy Friday.

Happy Friday! I needed to see those pics to lift my mood. This week was straight from hades. My drafts are where I store my deepest darkest secrets. . Hopefully I won’t accidentally post them one day. I’m sure if I did, I’d hear a “Knot-not” as the men with a straight jacket come to take me away.

67 drafts in WP?! Darn, you’re good, Joey! Every morning I do the 7am scramble to find a good photo–after I Google the word. Talisman?? I got nothing! Love the bar joke. A blond walks into a bar and says, “ouch!” 🙂 Have a great weekend!

  14. Had to stop by before I went to bed, as I’ll be working both weekend days as I did today. 60-some drafts? That’s as many books as I have on hold at the library. 🙂 Those photos are exactly the type of things I see, so I love them and they made me smile. Sleep well, my friend.

  15. LOVE these pics, Joey! Really a great blog post idea. Do not worry about not feeling ready. My new YA novel is now being copy edited and should be out soon. I’m working on another one and I know how you feel about these moments of doubt. Is it good enough? What am I bringing that is new and fresh and smart and meaningful? Nothing wrong with that. Good luck with everything.

I’m just thankful that you didn’t walk into the fence. That would have hurt.
I don’t think I’ve ever had more than two drafts in waiting, let alone 67. I’d be very curious to know those 67 thoughts for a blog post. I bet they’re all worth finishing when it’s time.

Works for me! Knot faces are fascinating! They’re all over the paneling in my bathroom which may sound weird, but I’ve become quite used to them.

67 drafts – that is a good amount but also shows how your creative juices flow…
and the pics were a great way to go today.
My fav is that first one and Joey – these almost reminded me of modern day Rorschach tests – the first especially – it looks like one of the originals (to me at least).

I like them all – but the first is my fav hands down.
    I first saw lungs.
    Then nuns.
    Then twins in utero
    Then a heart (er – yeah… maybe)
Then two hands coming together in fists – like Ali bumping his hands getting ready to fight.
