I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, whatever y’all did or didn’t do. It was the end of spring break here, and we enjoyed it.
Personally, I spent a lot of time lounging on my husband and stayin still for my cats. Quilts and cuppas.
One day, I even snuggled up for a nap, but because I did that, my in-laws stopped by.
Of course, I cooked all last week and all weekend, just cooking, cooking, cooking. Oh yes, there was gravy. Now I intend to reheat, reheat, reheat.
There’s gelato in the freezer and chocolate around every corner, so I should probably also walk, row, and swim, heh.
It snowed yesterday.
I don’t mind the snow. It has snowed here in April the last five years. People are sick of it. Not me. I do not feel like, “Oh Come On! It’s Spring!” I feel more like, “Ooh! Pretty!” I get super excited about snow on my tulips, so between you and me, I hope it’s not the last snow of the season.
Now, in October, when it’s 82° and muggy as all get out, then you’ll find me shoutin, “Oh Come On! It’s Fall!”
Stopped by the park this morning and it was all gray, but now the sun is shining and the melting snow falls from the trees in clumps. I’ll have most of the day to myself and I’ve got big plans like watching that as I read blogs. Maybe my daffodils will open when I’m not lookin.

We got some Easter snow (or is it April Fool’s snow?) over night – not much, but enough to wake up white. I don’t know what the daffodils do, but they keep coming up every year, so it must be okay with them and the squirrels.

It does seem the bulbs don’t mind the snows. Perfect transitional time — snow on the blooming bulbs 🙂

I bring the daffodils in if their stems are bent by the snow, if I have the energy. Some bloom and die without any intervention from me, others share their beauty in-house. I used to bring in masses of them, but don’t have the vertical stability or the energy any more.
I shiver when I think of the changes – you never expect to get older, and being disabled ages you prematurely. You hit milestones earlier than you thought you would – gives you time to think. We will be among the youngest at whatever CCRC we move to (average age of moving in is over 80), so I hope that means we will have that many more years to enjoy the facilities – and the lack of homeownership to worry about.
Maybe even get better! I can’t wait for that pool. Maintained by someone else. I did all that – pool for the kids – long ago.

I agree, you will enjoy a pool much more when you don’t maintain it. I am not a pool person. I enjoy swimming very much in the pools I don’t maintain.
I forced some bulbs when I lived in the south, but I have never brought mine inside up here.

I only bring cut flowers in. The forcing thing requires timing – and no way do I have that much interest.
I am very much a pool person – in water my disabilities are much minimized (except low energy) as the water supports, and lets me walk and go up to tiptoe. Plus the nice hot tub at the end…

Right, but not when you have to do all the pool crap. Not me, anyway.
So I misunderstood you on the bulbs. I do cut them and bring them in. The tulips in the backyard, every year, before The Mister mows. They’re not in a bed, they’re scattered. So for a few weeks, it’s utterly cheerful, and then the grass grows up, up, up and I cut them and take them in 🙂

Your snows are surely over. There will be no more snows for you. We will have all your snows and you will be left with only sunshine and blue skies and white puffy clouds 🙂

We got a good 8 inches over the weekend, and are looking at 4-6 more soon. Meh. Its Wisconsin, it happens. Anyone who thought winter was over is just being silly.

Ooh, snow on Easter, sounds lovely. It’s in the low 80s here the next few days. People are so happy about winter being over. What winter?!

LOL Easter in Georgia was HOT like whoa. Suncreen, sandals, hats, the whole thing. I hated it, of course. Here, even if it’s sunny and warm, there’s a cool wind, it’s the law.

We have snow today. I don’t think it will last long, but the world is pretty white. I love your cats. We’re partial to black and white kitties, but they’re both really pretty

I like spring snows. I know it isn’t going to bugger up my plans or break my electricity. It’s beautiful and short-lived, which makes it even more beautiful.

Beautiful snowy scenes! Didn’t see much snow this year as I didn’t get to the mountains but there is snow in the Sierras!. Enjoy what the season brings you as it will change soon!

😮 But… aren’t you way down to the south somewhere? How can you have snow now? I was in Rome today and I was quite hot in my coat, but my All Stars proved a bit thin for the cold asphalt. Just a bit longer.

No. I am in the middle, decidedly north, definitely a Union state. Some say we’re midwest (me) some say we’re Great Lakes region (not me). About the same latitude as Rome, but significantly colder. Search Indianapolis on a map 🙂

HUSH IT ABOUT YOU HOPING IT IS NOT THE LAST SNOW! It is spring, and snow does not belong. I feel the same way about 80 degree weather in October and everything is still green. It is supposed to be cool and filled with vibrant colors. No go sit in the naughty chair until you cleanse yourself of those horrible thoughts of snow in Spring.

We’re expecting some ugly messy weather, but as you said, it’s still early April. As far as I’m concerned, that’s normal in these parts. The hot and humid stuff will be here all too soon so I’m going to enjoy this while I can.

Your snow photos are so pretty, Joey. I am with you on the weather. I can take the cold (heh heh–cold here in FL), in April but I absolutely abhor heat and humidity in December. Not supposed to happen!

We might get a light dusting of snow this week – and I don’t mind either – but it was nice to get some sunshine on easter – well on the left side of my face – lol
and the first snow photo in your post is one that i went back to a couple of times. The way the branches frame it and then the depth that pulls you in – also the types of trees and the fresh snow.
it is such a nice composition – feeling a Frost poem in the air – or maybe Kinkade would have painted a version of that…

I’m on Team Sick Of Snow. While I admit that it’s pretty, I’m hoping that it’s pretty here ONE LAST TIME this season. But your photos are nice, so there’s that.

Our daughter lives in Montana. She posted a photo the other day of her newly fallen snow. I’m liking Spring this year but the pollen is killing me.

It’s April. Of course it can still snow. We usually wait until at least mid-month before we take off the snow tires. If it snows in May however, I can’t promise not to whine about it 😉
