Mon Dieu.
That’s when I say mon the most. I bet I write mon the most for Monday. Mondays make for a dull topic unless something seriously terrible happens, like you rip your inseams on a filing cabinet or leave your trunk open all day. Everyone knows what Mondays are like.
Saturdays are decidedly not Mondays, because if we had Stream of Consciousness Monday it would be a lot of people writing about how they don’t want to get up, how the weekend went by too fast, and my husband’s favorite, “Why God?!? Why?!?”
Money is a frequent mon of mon, too, which has a lot to do with Monday mornings.
Might be runnin outta mons, since I don’t have mono, or wear a monocle, or monitor monkeys monthly.
Mon Dieu. C’est Finis.

The monotony of any day stuck home with a monkey-child who wants to go for a car ride is totally bore-mongering! Mom has to be the monitor of madness and put her foot down….well that way lies mon madness. Instead, monetary expenditures mount as minutes meander moonward. (I’m a writer, dammit, that should mean I can invent a word here or there.)
In light of that, may your multiple mons mean not monstrous things but mon-tastic ones! (And boy, does spellcheck want to change that to monastic! But that would be too mondo bizarre, now wouldn’t it!) mendaciously yours, mon ami!

No one likes Monday. Even a retired lay about lout like me doesn’t really like Monday. Half the time we don’t really know when it is a Monday. No matter. Happy Weekend.

I don’t mind Mondays too much once I’m up, but I get up earlier on Mondays so up feels very, very up, lol! Tomorrow I will be up when I’m gotdamn good and ready! So yes, Happy Weekend!

I used to be up and ready by 5 AM. Now I lay around until 8 or 9. Is there a category beyond lazy?

Nope. Not even lazy! Honestly, what is there to do at 5am that can’t be done at 8am? Sometimes, part of the year, be done with x before the sun comes up, but I can garden just as well after it goes down.
Also, I hate when I’m up early and nothing’s open so I can even do stuff yet. Ugh.

Oh, how I loved French in high school. But it was so long ago. Mon ami comes to mind. Monkeys would be fun to write about. SOCS posts seem to lend themselves to SOC comments. Saturday is the perfect day for SOC.

OMG! I thought the monkey in the monocle was original! I should have read your blog before I wrote mine! Mon Dieu!!!

YOU put the monkey in a monocle, so that’s all your originality! 😀

Mon amie! Tres magnificent! Short for you, Joey, yet I enjoyed how you used “M” in many different ways. COOL!! Have a great Sunday! 🌺

Darn, kirizar stole my mon thunder! No thunder here, but lots of rain and it’s not even Monday. Sigh. But I have a different point of view on Monday, as I usually work Sunday afternoon and evening, but am off Monday always, as the store is closed. 🙂
Enjoy Sunday,
janet

I’m not so much a fan of Mondays. Once they get started, they are OK because everyone is off and I can do my thing. I just don’t enjoy the getting up to an alarm part after a weekend free of it! I hope you are enjoying the remainder of your Sunday!! 🙂

When I was at home, I always liked that about Mondays too!
Thanks, Amy!

Do you monitor monkeys monthly monotonously, mon amie? Lol!

I took Spanish, not French. I feel so inadequate here, trying to cleverly comment like everyone before me. So I’ll stay true to myself and say that this post was bueno, Señora.

Actually, I always liked Mondays. It meant I could go to work confident in the knowledge that nothing new had gone wrong yet. By Thursday however, I was singing a different tune. All the crap from the week had been building up to a crescendo.
In my head, there is only 1 mon, and that’s mon ami 🙂

That’s an interesting take on a workload through the week. I like it.

I particularly hated Fridays because that was the day at work when all the week’s shit hit the fan. That’s how Martini Fridays started.

There was this small happy phase in my work when I loved Mondays – alas, that did not last long and all happiness seemed to disappear from the world Sunday evening onwards. Sighs…
