Maybe I like to be predictable, you don’t know. It’s also rainy, but I was feelin more Monday, Monday.
Tra-la-laing into Monday morning is a bit more challenging than tra-la-laing into Friday evening.
Unless you hate your home life or only work weekends — I hate to generalize cause there’s always someone who has to be all, “Actually,” like an eight-year-old.
It was not a Feet Up Sunday, y’all. Wasn’t much of a feet up weekend at all. Oy. You’ll have that.
I drove the people all around, went to three homes, two grocery stores, six retail shops, and an ATM. I read all y’all’s blogs and Carrie Rubin’s new book. I put gas in my car, repotted three plants, cooked three meals, and did two loads of laundry. Also, because I love me, I mani-pedi’ed myself, bought myself a big iced coffee, and put fresh sheets on my bed.
There were snuggles, there was laughter, there was good sleep — but it was a lotta runnin round and at one point, I recall announcing, “I will be sitting on my sofa for five minutes!” I sat for eight minutes and nothing bad happened.
Still, here I am, bleary-eyed and bushy-haired, ready to Monday. I am motivated by coffee and the idea that next weekend is freeeeee!

Up at the ungodly hour of 6:20 to take husband to the eye surgeon. It took almost 40 min. to go over the paperwork before I could leave. They said 3-4 hours, and they’ll call me. I need – and will take – a nap. 40 min! And I still don’t have his credit card back. Better not forget.

Got the credit card. Got one nap – about to take another.
He is unhappy because he didn’t get instant clear vision – unfortunately, that’s the eye that had the macular pucker, and it may never get a lot clearer, especially for close up work.
I’ll drive him to the doctor for followup tomorrow – I think it’s too soon for him.
Keep getting obstacles in the way; we’ll see how tomorrow goes.

But I’m SO glad we’re not waiting to move until we’re even older. None of the kids would be able to be here for long, and it will be more of a nightmare to move every day.
Had another almost two-hour nap. One thing at a time.
Fiction writing is a distant and improbably memory. Escept that I can see my name on the spine of a book at Amazon. The actual copies I have are nowhere to be found. Yet!
And we keep labeling more boxes with ‘Heirlooms – to California’ which just means they will have to be hand sorted and repacked.
Could be worse!

They just called to tel us they will be showing up between 7 and 8 to do our missing floors. We are not pleased at the hour, ESPECIALLY since someone called us earlier to say they would be here between 10 and 2, a MUCH better time.
Didn’t ask; just told. True, it will be over. But after they’ve been messing around with this for almost a month, not even a little courtesy? Sheesh.
Shell-shocked, I tell ye. Shell-shocked.
Nothing more ‘happening’ than shell-shocked.
And after trying to get a certain person to answer our questions for three days, I finally tried an alternate route, emailed instead of leaving the requested voice mails, got an apology and exactly what we needed – clearly in a screenshot – so she’s forgiven. Chase Bank is not.
I know the books are… somewhere. Createspace will make me more any time I want them – after putting me through ‘prove your copyright’ hell. Don’t get me started!
I am getting lots of practice at keeping my tongue under control when mad, but let it out at the Chase incompetents (politely) yesterday.

Any time. Sometimes the things just need to be said.
I’ll be calling a woman tomorrow. She gave me incorrect information, and since she works at the fire department and is the go-to, she needs to give people correct information. Further research and many phone calls later, I know what she needs to tell people. It is not my job to call her back and tell her, but I consider it a professional courtesy and good citizenry.
I would advise you to contact Chase in any manner, to file a complaint for the next person’s sake.
While I am glad your floors are probably done today? I’m shaking my head at the hour they TOLD you they’d finish.

Odd that the thing I’m most impressed with was that in the midst of all that crazy, you repotted plants. Sorry the weekend closed in on you – I hope nothing squeezes its way onto the weekend calendar – guard the #free48 (as Cheryl Pennington says).

My plants rebelled when I went to work full time. (OR they needed to be repotted and I waited too long.) I lost two over the winter. 😦

What a busy weekend. Repotting plants is a big job by itself to me. I had a similar one, actually a rather busy week last week as our youngest came home from college and we painted her room which took three days, bought her a new bed and then moved her. Lots of unusual activity for these old bones and muscles and today I’m a bit sore. Next weekend is clear for us too so maybe just some crafting!

Fun, but ooh, that’s a lot of work! Moo wants to paint her room this summer. It’s been five years, it’s not like I should make her wait until she gets her own place, buuuuut, I am makin her wait til next month! lol

Productive weekend for me. Pretty happy with my writing projects. Sunday we had my son bring the grandkids over for a nice barbecue.

If anyone wants you to drive them somewhere next weekend, just go on strike, hide the car keys, lock your door, have iced coffee and food delivered. Tell the whole family that next weekend is a ‘chill weekend’ – you earned it. 🙂

When people ask me, “Did you do anything fun this weekend?” I always look at them quizzically for two reasons. Maybe I did and can’t remember. Or, I see all days as “weekends” cuz retired. I do low profile most weekends as that’s when all the wannabe-retired folks need the room. But, I recall liking Mondays when I worked cuz I worked more on weekends. Sometimes it was fun. I didn’t do a damn thing on Saturday other than laze around in my PJs and watch “Friends.” My husband took the kids to a birthday party which I opted out of because of my foot (heehee, might as well take advantage and avoid people), but later sorta regretted it when my husband told me they made fruity rum drinks.

Very busy you were. I’m glad that you got at least 8 minutes of peace. I often find that the idea of mellow weekend is enough to get me through a week. Of course a great week before a mellow weekend is even better. *fingers crossed*

So far it’s been BUSY. I’m already planning my pajamas and meals. Apparently Sassy and The Mister have a date on Friday, so Moo and I will get the shopping done right after I get off work. Then it’ll be aces.

Good Lord your week-end was busy doin stuff I do during the week cause I want to play on Saturday and Sunday! I am standing giving you a HUGE FULL SALUTE! Do you see me? I hope so cause Woman you are the Bomb!
I clean house…sort of on Monday and Tuesday, and pick up and straighten the rest of week days, and do laundry before Saturday so I can play …that means go hiking and do photography with my best tool; my camera all. week-end. long! I don’t clean and dust as thoroughly as I did when I was young. My attitude today is if you care that much about dust in the house, and dishes in the sink go fuck yourself. I want to play! Life is too short! I’m 61 Bloody years old/ I don’t have much time left!! I WANT TO PLAY AND ENJOY EVERY DAMN MINUTE! DUST. Dishes in the sink. Who the fuck cares? You dust and do dishes. I’ll play cause at the end of the day the dust and dishes will still be there waiting, but fun, and doing what you love…doesn’t! LIVE WHILE YOU CAN!
Even when my kids were little/at home with sports I would work around the house all week so I could enjoy cheering on the kids at their sports, and be there for He-Man when was competing in a Marathon, Triathlon, Century or Double Century Ride.
It’s all changed now. The kids are gone, He-Man has had to quit competing because of a ruptured Patella tendon…he hates that, but I am free to do my thing! Thankfully they love me and are cheering me on. I sure hope your family was cheering you on for that mani-pedi, and couch sitting!
