I had half a good weekend, cause the other half was germ residual.
Spent Friday wishing I could read all day, but it made my head spin. Mostly, I listenslept through Howard’s End several times. Friday night perked me up a bit, and by that, I mean, I mostly lay on my sofa instead of my bed. Woot. I ain’t mad.
However, we went to see Deadpool 2 on Saturday afternoon, and I loooooove Deadpool. He never disappoints me. I hadn’t seen a movie in the cinema since 2015, and before that, I couldn’t tell you when, and this time when I went, we had the reclining seats with the lil school desks and all the new-fangled space ever, and I told my family I will see more movies if we go there, because golly gee, that was niiice! Recline? At movie? Yes, please.
Unfortunately, I had to go through an air-lock to the damn parking garage and that set off my vertigo, which along with general ick, threw me off and on the rest of the day. Ick-ick.
I was awfully happy to get home and back into bed, but YAY DEADPOOL!
Sunday, I woke up just before nine and feelin fine.
Started some pasta e fagioli, or as Moo requested it, “Beans with the things and the circle pasta.”
Since it was only 80 (This ‘summer’ has been so hot, I now have to say things like “It was only 80.” *grumble grumble*) I took Moo and her friend on a brief doorscursion and brought home half a Shapiro’s strawberry cheesecake, MMMHM.
Went home, worked a puzzle with the boy one. Lookit! Haha! Doors!
Finally watched the last episode of Sense8 — make ya wait ten years while the hot German guy lies there in peril — Sheesh! Okay, it was totally worth the wait. It’s the only time I’ve ever cried through a sex scene, bawled my eyes out, lump in my throat and everything.
Anyway, I’m thinkin today will be better than most Mondays. After all, it’s not even gonna hit 90 today and I’ll be comin home to share that last piece of cheesecake with my love.
Off I go — Have a great day!
Have a good one, Joey. Heat index warnings are up for us….as they already have been. Oh, wait until August. I am sure we will all have already died because it is way too hot!

Phew! I know what your weather is like — sadly I CAN imagine it. It was a good day for me and I hope a good one for you! Stay cool, Lois!

I hope youāre having a great Monday. Itās amazing how much better 80-something feels than 90-something. That cheesecake looks very good. I was OK with you having it over the weekend, but now that I know youāre having it again, Iām a little jealous. Happy for you, but you know. I am glad to know that youāre feeling better – when you work, being sick on the weekend is simply the worst thing.

True story. If I have to be sick, let it be on a stupid Tuesday or somethin.
Also, true about the weather. I didn’t even sweat today. I hope you had a good one, too š
I am lookin forward to that cheesecake š

Cheese cake. Drool. The last cinema I went to had big ol’ recliny seats too. Almost made up for the ticket prices. I think the next few days are supposed to be cloudy. That should be nice for you sun sensitive folks. Enjoy your week.

Thanks! You have a great week, too!

Glad you’re feeling lots better! A movie, cheesecake, and a puzzle with doors…yay! We may have to get our jackets out today. It’s only going to be in the 90s…yesterday was 107 w/10% humidity and wind. Soup sounds good on a coolish day, too. š

Hahaha! Jackets! I would DIE. I would hide indoors and cry for home! lol
Lots of good stuff to make up for my time down š

A blogger I know in New Orleans says it’s “80 by 8” time.
Glad you feel better.

The Mister says that, too. And when we lived down in the south, 90 by 9 was no joke! Thanks š

It is THE BEST cheesecake in the entire world. (Known to me. Better than mine, too, and I rarely say that about stuff, LOL!)

Already made the beginning of my week better, reading your blog; always funny inspite of your being sick but hope you’re feeling much better! Never saw Deadpool but now you got me interested. Watched Kingman 2 on tv last night and all of the crazy violence makes it sorta fun to watch.
Hate to rub it in but SF is overcast and misty; probably in the low 60s; over the weekend it was supposed to get in the 90s to 100s inner land but that cool wind stayed on the coast when it wasn’t forecast so I’m not complaining!
Have a great week (cheesecake almost always gets you setup for a good one)!

Deadpool movies are like nothing you’ve ever seen. There is nothing like those movies. I love them. Over the top violence, yes. But they’re awesome — punny, irreverent, and the music is always fab. It’s a good time, check it out.
I will dream of your SF weather. Ooh, sounds dreamy. Stay on the coast and enjoy it for me š
Thanks, Gordon, you too!

Haven’t been to the movies in years so I’m not sure what ours look like inside. That cheesecake looks to die for but I’m getting totally serious about what I eat since I’ve gained 15 pounds (!) this year so I’ll let you enjoy it for me. Happy Monday.

There are so many movies I want to see right now. We’re playing it cheap this summer, but they’ll eventually show up in Redbox or something. Our favorite theater is like yours, plus they serve beer.

The Mister takes the kids pretty often, but they watch a lot of things that don’t interest me. I am a BIG fan of pause and peeing and being comfortable, so this particular place at least covers that last one.
We don’t drink beer at the movies, but it’s usually available. Not sure about that one specifically, but generally.

They bring dinner and drinks right to you from a menu at our movie theater with those living room recliners and test-taker desk swingers, Joey. With movie ticket prices no higher than the regular theaters and food and drink prices the same as the other restaurants. Wooooo-hooooo.

I haven’t been in a movie theater in years. The last time I went I left early because it was too loud with too much movement for my sweet old self to handle. The cheesecake looks delicious, and I’m not even a big fan of cheesecake. I need to start going on doorscurions. Driving around somewhat aimlessly, with purpose, sounds like it could be my jam. Good idea.

I used to have severe anxiety and panic attacks in the theatre. It’s sensory overload for me. These theatres with the reclining seats don’t seat as many people, so that helps. (As much as being out of the worst of my disorder here of late.)
Doorscursions are a good excuse to get out and get some exercise, maybe stop for a treat. Never know what you might stumble across š

All that hot and steamy ickiness is headed our way and I really wish you could keep it down there. I’ve been liking these moderate temperatures and would prefer to keep it this way.
Have a happy week, Joey … with resilient germs in the rearview mirror!

I haven’t been to the movies in years, and years. I can’t even remember what the last movie I saw was in a theater. I’ve never seen Deadpool. Will look it up.
It’s only 79Ā°F here today which is wonderful compared to Saturday which was 100Ā°F HAWT!
I hope you’re feeling better, and man that cheesecake looks amazing!

I’ve been debating on whether to go see Deadpool 2. I was totally caught off guard on that opening scene in the first one!

Wellll… This one still has that kind of blatant action right from the start. I wonder what you’d expected?

I didnāt expect it to get X-rated so quickly. (Iām pretty sure that was the opening scene, anyway, or early on, itās been a while since I watched it.) I expected a certain amount of it, but my prudish self was caught off guard lol!

First, I’m sorry to read that you haven’t felt so good recently. I hope the yummy cake helped! Also, did I read you correctly about the movies? You haven’t been since 2005? I used to go very often when I lived in France and then here, well, at the beginning I just didn’t have the means and the time. Now that I could afford it more often, the movies are disappointing or the ones I would like only play in big cities, like New York or L.A. A little bit far for a movie. I would go miles, though, for a great dessert š
Take it easy, Joey and Happy Fourth!

Oh man!! Cheesecake!! I have not eaten well (or really well, depending on your definition).
I can’t recall the last time I went to the movie theater. Actually I think it may have been to see Magic Mike XXL with my sister-in-law and a group of girlfriends. And they served ALCOHOL at the theater!! I haven’t been to the ones with recliners yet.
