SoCS – Sup?

I’ll tell you Sup. My happiness!

Wait, lemme eat this cake.

Okay. Can’t. Eat. Icing. Phew!

You see, after the weird post-holiday Thurmonday, I got moody — moodier. It rained all day on that Thurmonday and while I love rain, it thundered in my hands and arms and I didn’t love that. Barometric pressure done fell out, I reckon.

Friday I woke up to a bright blue sky and no more thunderbones, so initially I was happy. I don’t know where my happy went, back to Taken For Granted Land, I guess, because it slowly faded without any knowable reason. I had this sorta dread feeling from nowhere. Maybe too much coffee? The only thing I could think of was that I had things to do after work and I don’t usually do that on Friday, but y’all, the things were happy things! Pick up dry cleaning, pick up pizza, go see Marian — Why on earth would any of that bring me down? Silly. No reason for mood. Bleh.

I left work, I picked up the stuff, went home, ate a slice of pizza, put on my BatCat tee and some sneakers, and went off to see Marian. Oh, right, I stopped for a double-double. Oh woe is me.

I walked into the con, and there was Marian, and Amazing, her daughter is Amazing, and I was happy and glad I was finally there, and I thought, well this is grand, maybe my mood was impatience?

Then Marian said I had to see a fing, so she led me and led me and

HOLY HAPPENSTANCE, IT WAS THE BATMOBILE!

IMG_6025

Yes, I like Batman. I love Batman. Given my propensity to grab the ass of the life-size Batman figure at Think Geek, I may have feelings for Batman. Maybe that’s more about Christian Bale.
Anyway, I don’t like talking about my love for Batman, because I don’t love all the comic things and I don’t wish to engage in conversations in which I compare and contrast Batman with other superdudes, but c’mon, there’s no one like Batman!

He doesn’t even have superpowers! He’s just awesome!

And Lego Batman? Oh Em Gee Heart Heart Heart!

PP34036-Lego-Batman-(Meme).jpg
Like I said, I was wearin my BatCat tee-shirt and everything! And there was the Batmobile!

So I sat in the batmobile, giddy as all get out, and I used the batphone and the man who built the batmobile took my picture and YAY ME!

I also met a man who looks just like George Lucas, but he said he wasn’t George Lucas, which is probably exactly what George Lucas would say if he was at a lil con in Indy.

Then, after that, I went home and made a grocery list and I went to the goddamned grocery store where I RAN INTO ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE! We had a nice long chat right there in the aisle.

Well, I tell you Sup; You never know what kinda wonders could be comin after a Bleh day!

So very cool! Too bad you couldn’t take that little car out for a spin!

THE BATMOBILE? You are officially the coolest person I know. You should make a t-shirt that says “I sat in the Batmobile. Go ahead. Be jealous.”

  3. A friend who now lives in Vermont, and whom I won’t see much in person once we move to California, called on a one day stopover (we met in NJ, and she still has a house here), and had one of those great catch up as much as you can in two hours visits. My first writing partner, and we have so many things in common (and so many not) that we are a great mix.

    Completely out of the blue.

I don’t care that she insisted on taking pictures of me with her brand new real camera – and I hate having pictures taken!

You are the mistress of making delicious lemonade from meh. I would like your recipe.

I too like Batman though I don’t think I have as big feelings as yours and I’m of the Michael Keaton generation. Oh I loved the sexy scenes between Catwoman and Batman in Batman Returns. Meowreeowrrr.

HEY! I’m of the Michael Keaton generation, too! Vic, Vic, Vicki Vale 😛 But Batman Begins is the best Batman movie EVERRR!

      And thanks 🙂

Barometric pressure in the body sux. Yay batmobile–in my mind, the tv series way back when is the Batman, so this would by their car also in my mind. I’m a pretty simple machine lately–but I’m glad you had a lot of fun. You also made me want to find good cake today!

Thanks. I am still waiting for that, but I did get an oddly good chocolate mousse the other day that was really really pale and yet not sweet–that was good.

Me too, but i find too much sugar in things sometimes. My drug of choice is chocolate lately, so I want pure chocolate, no additives except a little sugar and whatever other good stuff they may put in so it doesn’t fall into powder, nothing that will distract from the good taste. Good fat is encouraged to be an additive though!

Have you tried the 92% stuff? I looked at it tonight and thought of this comment. The darkest I’ve had is 70-somethin and it’s very good. I don’t know if I’d like any less sweet, but I might will try it sometime.

I’ve tried 85 and that is good on its own in some brands like Green&Black and some small-batch companies. 70 is the lowest I go voluntarily usually, although I have been combining some lately in the sense of two small pieces of chocolate in my mouth at once. I thought I would be a fan of the very dark, but have had some 85s and above that just tasted like baking chocolate, while some were good on their own–to me it depends on them being organic, and who makes them. There is a company called AlterEco that makes nice 70 and above which I enjoy, and yet their 85 did nothing for me.

and you in that car still has me smiling, but the real take away is more word and phrase fun with Joey.

    ahhhh –

    makers going to make
    and
    wordsmithers going to wordsmith

not sure if you made these terms up but they are new to me —

and in a way – batman and their team made little phrases – so you have that wordsmithing in common too – or not – oh enough – Holy catchphrases… ha

I clearly belong in the batmobile, but I think more as a rider, cause there’s no way I could safely drive a huge car like that! 🙂 Weekend fabulous, thanks!

Okay, I am so gonna borrow Thurmonday. After all we were calling yesterday the 2nd Tuesday. This week was bleh here too and the rain, though we needed it desperately, brought with it aches. Tis hell getting older. Of course sitting in the batmobile would’e cured me I am sure of it. Super cool!

Doesn’t Christian Bale…ummm, I mean Batman…need a Batgirl? Like, really, you could easily apply and win the role. I mean, you have a BatCat shirt and you sat in the Batmobile and you looked awesome in the Batmobile. Joey Batgirl!

The Batmobile would help you make those tricky turns out of your neighborhood a might easier while the other motorists stop and stare, Joey. Not-George-Lucas might have helped your escape. Oh, to dream …

That is very cool. I have many a meh day but none ever led to the Batmobile. I do have a date with my first born and the twins at Victory Field for Marvel Superhero night. Not as cool as the Batmobile but it will do. Now about that cake.

I’m gonna watch BATMAN BEGINS today, Joey, with hubby. He wanted to watch RED for like the 4th time (grrrrrrr …..) so I THANK YOU for the germ of an idea. Batman is totally sexy. I get it. LOVE that mask and that back view aint too shabby either. Decided to stop my insane planting today and just veg today after taking one of our babies in to see the Cat Doc. LOVED your post!! *APPLAUDS*

It was so great to see you Joey! And I never expected I would get to see you TWO DAYS. It did make Sunday a tiny bit sad, though, because it was Joeyless. Tony Not-George-Lucas Acree does a hilarious AARP Batman schtick. I was happy to meet Sassy and Moo, too. Two beautiful, clever young women.

  25. FREAKING AWESOME! I saw a Batmobile in the city, and didn’t get to sit in it. You look great in it!
I wanted to call it her just then cause all cars and trucks things are her to me.😊

#1 Grandson and I LOVE Lego Batman. He has several and I keep asking for one…a classic one, but he says, “no!”. I’ll have to purchase my own set one of these days.

Christian Bale didn’t do it for me. Michael Keaton did, and his voice…sigh. I go weak in the knees listening to him speak.

German Chocolate cake frosting is a bit much for me too, but I do love Devil’s Food cake! Okay, any chocolate cake.🎂

I’m glad your mood lifted and you saw and hung out with Marian! Woot!

There was a lot more variety in this year’s InConJunction –There was Marian, and the Batmobile for starters. Then there was a lady with these incredible troll anthropomorphic muppet creature dolls — I’m not even a doll person and I was like OH MY GOODNESS! There was a book vendor with Neil Gaiman coloring books and a Percy Jackson coloring book. There was a stand where they sold amber like whoa. Plus, I got a new soap lady. I coulda spent hundreds. Hundreds. I did not. I am so proud.
Cake, German Chocolate, Meijer, $8,99 😉
