Friday Fun Two

Hey, not all titles come easily, roll with it.

Y’all, this week.
What is with this week?
It wasn’t extraordinarily long.

Quite the contrary.

Monday, I didn’t touch my travel coffee until 10am. It was lukewarm, but vital.
On Tuesday, half the house thought it felt like Friday. Sadly, Wednesday morning was nothin like a Saturday morning.
Wednesday, I was so shocked by tempus fugit, I flung Mentor’s door open and said, “It’s two o’clock!” to which she replied, “No it’s not,” and then, “So it is!”
Every night this week, “Holy crap! It’s already NIIIIINE?” and then mere minutes later, the ticker neared eleven.
Morning came like Poof! and I found myself moaning, “My bed, my bed, I love you, why must I leave you every morning?”

Didn’t it just turn August?

Don’t blink, it’ll be Labor Day!

I’ve no idea what Time is doing or why it’s in a hurry. I’m a mortal, Time tells me nothing.

Cept, it needs to slooooow dowwwwwn cause the weekend’s upon us!

Happy Friday Everyone!

  1. Seems I’m barely making it through each day, and yet progress happens. I know there must be a pleasant way to move, but I am not going to get it.

I do not think there is a pleasant way to move house. I question that concept entirely. When it’s all done and there’s a satisfaction in the orientation, when you settle and rest and look about, your things in place, it’s QUITE NICE.

      • We’ve done it a couple times before, but each time a company moved us, and all I remember is they paid for movers to do everything, and we didn’t have that much stuff way back then.

This has been a shocker – but it’s getting there. The dejunking going on at the same time was necessary – if wrenching – and easier than hoping for a few hours here and there, as long as I don’t crash. I’m very careful, in principle, but knowing myself and my illness makes it scary to push.

And yet – no choice. Whatever leaves this house on Wednesday will go to California with us, except for the bags I’m packing which will take the critical stuff on the plane – and can’t be that much!

Still better than the original plan of driving cross-country, however interesting. I could see something happening to the car on the plains of Kansas or the mountains somewhere… And it’s summer, and I don’t tolerate much heat or humidity, and that was a risky idea after we poked it with a stick.

I just got the pictures our agent and friend took of the house staged for sale. Wow. It sure looked nice – not quite my house, but nice. Clean. VERY tidy. Glad she had them – I never got some because we were too exhausted! Hers are very professional.

Love that pic! This week has been crazy. Fast, slow, problem-childlike, irresponsible. Time and nature are teamed against us.

The weekend starts 6-8 hours from now. Enjoy it!

  5. I agree. Time has been flying by much too quickly. As I’m working Thursday-Saturday, I get all confusticated, thinking Thursday is Friday and all the time that it’s the weekend. I’m looking forward to my second Sunday off in months and months. My husband and I are going to another state park for a bike ride. 🙂

Time does seem to be speeding up, Joey. This Summer flew by. I’m shocked it is the 17th of August already. There are days I’m trying to figure out what day of the week it is. Confusion reigns as I live time speeding by and Nature behaving in ways I’ve never seen before. All my plans for this Summer …. or most of them … down the toilet. Unreal!

  7. Time seems to be flying for me too. Seems like it was just Memorial Day to me.

You are so right; and the older you get the faster it goes. Eventually you retire and then time has absolutely no meaning at all. I have a tough time remembering what day it is. I hope your weekend is slow and long and fun.

  9. Ah, time. She’s a fickle b*tch. When you’re young it moves too slowly, when you’re old
(or approaching it all too rapidly as I am) it seems to fly by. And weekends? A mere eye blink. Enjoy yours!

  10. I was just thinking that summer is going too fast, even for me. Here, we are in the middle of August and I really haven’t done anything summery yet. I keep thinking of all the things I should do on the weekends, but then life intervenes and the weekends fly by, and summer is nearly gone. Aw well. I love Fall, too.

Yes, over half the year gone and I don’t feel like anything MEMORABLE has happened…oh, wait, the youngest graduated from college, we went on a trip to Oregon, tore up our backyard and I have a Sketchbook in the Brooklyn Art Library. Guess there have been a few things going on. Happy Friday!

When I read “Labor Day,” I covered my ears and loudly sang, “Lalalalalalalalala!!! I can’t hear you!!!”
Time goes way too fast, especially summer time. Before you know it, we’ll be in 2019 thinking, “Whoa, what happened to 2018?”

      Haha! I get that!
Maybe. But I bet 2019 is a better year for you and me 😀
Maybe you’ll even have a mild winter. Maybe we’ll get those strangely warm days in December and you’ll tool around in the sun 😀

Life is supposed to slow on the weekends, isn’t it? My week was busy as well and the weekend will be cleanup from a house full of guests. It’ll be a hot weekend so at least I’ll have an excuse for staying in and watching stupid movies!

It’s been in the high 90s for awhile…the mister mowed the brown crunchy stuff this morning, only the 2nd time this summer…it feels like fall will be here soon. Seems it should just now be the start of summer. Hope your weekend is slow and you get to be lazy for a little bit. 🙂

Oh my! The brown crunchy stuff reminds me of Georgia! lol
I will not complain about the temps, just the humidity. It’ll cool down, it always does 😛
Weekend GOOD, no lazy to be seen yet… but GOOD. Thanks!

Time speeds up as you get older. Or at least it seems to. Me, I just got of high school last week, and now I’m retired…

I swear time is moving faster every month. If it weren’t for the photos I took at the beach in July with selfies to prove we were there, I would wonder if July really happened. Did we skip a month somewhere?

Time sure is flying by! I’m in decluttering phase and we are back-to-schoolpin’ and deeply entrenched into soccer season already. I’m pretty sure that I’ll blink and it’ll be Thanksgiving.

The boy started school this week, so I’ve been harping on how quickly time moves. He had 12 weeks for summer, and it was over just like that. Sniff. I miss the days where time would drag so slowly that I’d count down the hours until Friday.
