Recapping the Fastest Week Ever

Oh my gosh, where do I even start?

Last weekend was a blur. It was fun and it zoomed on by.

Friday was incredible, because somehow, both children went out for the evening and we had surprise date night. I say WOW.

Saturday, people got up at dawn and ran a 5k.
I did not run a 5k. I slept.
When the people returned, they gathered on the bed as they do, but after they showered.
Clara did not run, but she did enjoy rolling around on the shoes. She did not shower. She was pink for days.

Sunday there was a lot of shopping. For the first time in the history of Sassy, we had a good mother-daughter shopping experience. Five stars, Highly Recommend.

Monday was alright. You know, for a Monday. I worked over a bit and went to the store and The Mister picked up pizza and we went to bed early because we are smart and also, the itty bitty melatonin that you eat like baby aspirin is my friend.  Heart, heart, melatonin. Why doesn’t spellcheck know melatonin? Spellcheck is a good sleeper, eh?

Sometimes your anniversary is on a stupid Tuesday or whatever, so you don’t work late. You rush home and try to pretend you don’t even have babies, but you do, so you pick them up from the thing and then you abandon them quickly and scurry out to a nice long meal at Marco’s, which was frickin hoppin and we didn’t even know Tuesday night has a special that brings half the city in. Good mercy. I was a woman in love, and in cute shoes. I was margarita strong delightfully amusing so who cares what the special was, or that it was even a stupid Tuesday for that matter?
Yes, yes, happy anniversary to us. Ooey gooey love shit later.

Wednesday was rough. It was a rough day. The Mister and I had been awake off and on all night and it was not sexy. It was toss and turn and huff and puff and a kid had to be at school early, so I was frenzied and tired all day. Sassy made tacos. I got the lil mini tortillas advertised as “street taco” type and those were a big hit! Also, Jarritos. Jarritos make taco night better. Plus, tacos are powerful mood elevators. Tacos have always been there for me.
OH MY GOODNESS, though, THE GOSSIP WAS FANTASTIC ON WEDNESDAY. I am still all LOLZ. Ooh, come sit on the porch, I’ll tell you all about it.

Thursday was busy.
Office Manager ordered a five-pound bag of gummy bears — Albanese, made right here in Indiana. They are the best gummy bears ever. You should eat them right after breakfast and when you make coffee and then right after lunch and when the 3:00 sleepies hit you and you have really got to lay off the gummy bears, okay?

Do you know what my hibiscus are like this time of year?
When we moved into our house, True was still upset I’d moved away and she was all, “We have nature here!” To which I made a scowly face and sent her a photo of the view from my bedroom. Five years later, it’s even more amazing.

It was a beautiful day here.
My dog is also beautiful.

I love her sweet pupperface.

So today? Well I have comp time from workin over, so I’m leavin early. But wait! There’s more! The Mister is driving me to work, bringing Mentor and me breakfast, washing my car, and picking me up from the office so we may commence date night immediately!

And lemme tell you somethin else.
I ain’t got a damn thing to do this weekend. No kid things, no social commitments, no big household project, no agenda. Mmhm, just chillin.

Well Happy Friday to you too young lady. Aren’t full weeks exciting? Sure they make you tired but isn’t it nice sometimes. You have quite a passel of pets. Happy Anniversary. I only remember my first anniversary because it was New Years Eve, Shoulda been April 1. Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well.

  4. Sounds like a great week. I’m glad margaritas make you delightfully amusing. They don’t do that for everyone. We’re going to have a houseful of company, but will probably get to the fair after everyone takes off.

What a wonderful week YOU had. Mine not so much…hubby in the hospital overnight for rapidly beating heart (not just because he loves me), I ran over a dog on the way to see the hubby and had to make a detour to the vet with a stranger and her dog in my car (dog not on leash and ran out into the street so not my fault but still feel bad), back to see hubby and then calls to police and car insurance to report said accident. Hubby home from hospital but then I went to doctor’s appointment with my 95 year old mom who has had toe amputated which is not healing completely 4 months later. Guess that’s what keeps life interesting, huh?

Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. I am so sorry to read that. Is hubby okay? Is doggie? ARE YOU?!? Best to relax this weekend. Listen to your favorite songs, read a comfort book, play with paper. ❤ Thinking of you.

Hubby will be okay if he makes some significant lifestyle changes and I think he may be ready to do that at last. Dog, I don’t know. From the looks and sounds of it I don’t think so. We went to a party yesterday but today I am playing with paper and getting songs ready for Song Lyric Sunday. Thanks for your good thoughts.

Happy Anniversary! That’s a noteworthy thing, even if Tuesday. All the rest sounded good, except working overtime, but gummy bears and comp-time make up for that. Sounds like today is on rails and headed toward the start of a great weekend.

Enjoy (in case you hadn’t planned).

Sounds like the weekend might be time for some ooey gooey love shit.
    Or a few margaritas.
Or lovin’ on the puppers and kit-kats.
Staying away from the gummy bears.
And getting some sleep with your friend melatonin (it’s become my friend too).
    Happy Friday, Happy Weekend Joey!

  16. 1) Cats? Adorable. Makes me miss mine fiercely.
    2) Happy margarita soaked, I mean belated, anniversary!
    3) I had to look up Jarritos. But tamarind and guava soda? How weird. I’m in!
    4) Holy Hell, I have never seen a hibiscus that large. Are you sure Nicole Kidman didn’t bury someone evil under that thing? Beware!
    5) Enjoy your lazy weekend!

  17. Mark this week down – good one. Happy Anniversary and many more. 🙂 Gummi bears plus anything are a positive, but I must admit I’m a real sucker for the chocolate covered ones. 🙂

Thanks for the quick recap of your week, I enjoyed reading, and happy anniversary! ❤
I’ve been very sick – a sore throat like I’m swallowing broken glass, so not so fun for me, but a bit better today, and my coffee is so good. Enjoy the weekend Joey, doing absolutely nothing, and everything you feel like. 😊❤

And enjoyed the recap of your week – “Joey style”
Oh and mmm to the mmmm for Jarritos!

Happy Anniversary!!! I have seen Jarritos, but haven’t tried any yet. I’ll need to remedy that. Hibiscus are so pretty. I don’t think I’ve seen one that large…even in Florida. Our life is slowly becoming slightly less hectic and I definitely need to start scheduling in some date nights, and capitalizing on the free moments for some spontaneous ones too. Glad it was a good week and a no commitments weekend! 🙂
